@@maryanthony6787 This whole story is a mixed bag. There are some comments he should have kept to himself. And some which are just pure speculation with no truth. I have no desire to read the book. Harry is not a victim but the publishers did not seem to care about anyone but their profits. I hope their profits drop to dust. He is spoiled, lacks emotional maturity and I think has handed his balls to Meghan to carry in her purse. I think when she gets bored of Harry she will dump him and look for someone richer and more influential. And he will never see it coming.

And in a sense, he lost both his parents as he mentioned that his father was never a naturally affectionate person and was at the time actively involved with the then mistress Camilla that helped break up his parents marriage. That's the misconception that comes with wealth and privilege; that with all the money in the world that affords you more time to deal with loss and tragedy, he was still very neglected and abused. How sad that a parent with no excuse perpetuates the legacy of family dysfunction.

People, if you have not had trauma at a young age, you might never understand. I lost my mother at age 14 years and my sister was 11 years. My 11 year old sister never cried while my twin sister and I cried out our eyes. My sister was about 40 years when she called me yelling and talking about her grief regarding our mother's death. I never felt loved by anyone after my mother's death. I am grown, had been a secondary school principal, a mental heath practitioner and to this day (sometimes) I still feel there is unfinished business with my mother dying at such a young age. I was extremely close to my mother and I vowed at age 14 that I would never have children because I don't want them to experience the grief that I experienced as a teenager. All my siblings have children and grandchildren. I selected a life style that I dedicated my life to the Lord. No two persons experience grief the same way. So, don't compare William and Harry regarding how Harry handled his grief. Amen.

@@silvina6287 I think people are missing the point. I think Harry is grateful, but he also went through a lot of trauma. And we live with trauma until we die. He has expressed that he was dealing with his family for years behind the scenes regarding whatever his concerns were, and that what he’s doing now is after having already tried to get through to his family. This memoir and these interviews are nothing but a person talking about their journey. We can talk about our past without necessarily “living” in it, and people are equating him talking about what happened, with him being “stuck”. There’s some things that we never “get over”, but we’re not necessarily “stuck”. People are crucifying him for writing a memoir, but people write memoirs all the time. William is more than welcome to write a memoir as well. I pray that they will eventually be able to come together, even if it’s 20 years from now. But I’m happy that he did what he felt he needed to do at that time for himself and for the family that he’s created (his wife and children).

They were both born into famed wealthy families by mothers who became tabloid fodder for years, against their will. They both experienced grief at young ages and both left their home countries to experience life in war torn nations in the middle east to deal with their trauma. Following Anderson over the years, he has such a wealth of wisdom to be shared, not only with Harry, but with people watching all around the world who still struggle with grief and loss. You will thrive n be successful just say all you need to say n then say nothing more…. Also give them back their titles if they want it!… who cares about titles. It’s all soon gonna come tumbling down anyway (Daniel 2:44) Jesus ran away when they came to make him King becuz that was man’s arrangements on earth he chose the more superior ‘spoil’ serving others n teaching them about God n His Kingdom that would provide the ultimate blessings for all down the road. You be the same focus on the better ‘portion’ serving others and our Heavenly Father and you will find true happiness. Give Him a try since your earthly family has failed you… you won't be disappointed. You will see you will only get better n better. (Psalm 34:8) We love you Harry.❤️

Harry is viewing everything through his own lens, and that's going to skew a lot of things. But I admit in spite of everything, the way he put himself down and wiped himself away so easily made me just want to run up to that poor little 12 year-old boy and give him a huge hug and tell him that he is a human being and has infinite value. He may not be handling things perfectly, but there are also some really good reasons that his lens is so skewed right now.

I don't think his lens is skewed right now! I think what he shared in his book was about what and how he saw things on that timeline, for the purpose of the book but, in this present day he has found peace/clarity from that & wants to turn what he's expeianced/learned into a posative.

  • @hollybigelow5337

@@carolyntreadwell6298 Really? I suppose it’s possible that you’re right, but I really find it hard to believe that anyone who is flashing so many micro expressions for contempt and anger isn’t seeing the world through a skewed lens. When he talks about his mother, it does not sound like a mature person who has fully processed what has happened to him and has forgiven or come to terms with it. His language even regresses a bit. He definitely understands it A LITTLE better than when he was younger, but he doesn’t sound at all to me like someone who has properly processed things all the way through. And he definitely seems to be processing everything from a place of an inferiority complex that feels him with rage and contempt and resentment. This is perfectly understandable. I have actually often wondered how both Harry and William had processed what happened to them with the whole Camilla thing. It can be difficult for any child to come to terms with their parents divorcing. If they know daddy had an affair with a woman and that woman is the reason their parents got divorced and their world has been turned upside down, that can be really difficult. And to have daddy later marry the very woman who caused the divorce while showing almost zero remorse for the affair, that can also make the kids sad and beg daddy not to marry her. It can also make the children, especially a son feel very protective of mommy and want to see that she gets some kind of justice in everything. In most cases, if mommy goes on to build a healthy life, and especially if mommy still loves them and is able to tell them that she’s fine and has repaired her relationship with daddy enough to co-parent from a healthy place and has gone on to marry someone who makes her insanely happy the kids might be able to mostly get over it, but in this case mommy died shortly before daddy remarried. That’s going to be difficult for a lot of kids and may leave them with a life-long unresolved need to get justice for mommy. Add to that that it sounds like mommy was likely the only one who gave him real, regular hugs and may also have been the only one who made it a priority to tell him on a daily basis that he is worth something, and he is now surrounded by emotionally stunted people who are constantly in the public eye who spend probably at least 50% of their energy constantly trying to manage their public image and the fact that his brother genuinely is being groomed to be the heir, so he probably gets left alone a lot watching from the sidelines as his brother gets the attention and support that he craves, and I can easily see a young person taking away the message, “Mommy is the only one who ever loved me. No one cares about me. They only care about my brother. And then after my brother, the next thing they care about is their public image. After that, the person who probably should care about me the most is daddy and maybe grandma, but through their actions they are demonstrating that they are paying way more attention to Camilla and Camilla’s public image than me. I may have a tiny amount of significance, but I rank in importance behind my brother and then my family’s relationship with the media and then Camilla and then my family’s public duty. Even my brother disowned me at school and didn’t want me telling people we were brothers. The only person for whom that wasn’t true was mommy, and every time I ask questions about what happened to her or seek emotional support for what happened everyone seems to dodge the issue. I am my mom’s voice and protector. That’s the only valuable role I have open to myself right now. Well, that and the brief time in the military where I earned some worth with people who aren’t my family.” In other words, I solidly believe he is seeing the world through all of the following filters: 1) An unresolved need to protect his mother and be her voice and somehow give her justice both for the divorce and for her death. 2) A major inferiority complex. 3) Massive rage, contempt, resentment, and jealousy towards anyone he feels played a role in his inferiority complex, which includes anyone who took away his mother, who was his only supporter, his brother who constantly was the recipient of all of the attention and support and training and who didn’t stand up and insist on making everyone love Harry, too, but instead tried to distance himself from him, his father who was emotionally distant when he needed him the most, his stepmother who broke up his family and took a bunch of attention away from him, the media who technically was blamed for his mom’s death, but I personally believe is more to blame because daddy and grandma and every aunt and uncle and big brother and even some girlfriends and friends all seem to care more about the media than they do him. 4) A childlike filter because the tragedy that occurred at age 12 seems to have permanently stuck a part of him at age 12. This is not uncommon with people who experience tragedy. In a way, it’s his mind’s way of keeping her alive. If he never ages beyond 12 she is still alive. Of course, that also means he basically replays the tragedy over and over. That can also be a coping mechanism. He doesn’t understand what happened, so he is going to replay it over and over again until he does understand it because the mind needs that understanding to protect itself in case the tragedy repeats itself. And now that he has a wife his mind can even see his the tragedy might repeat, so it can put his wife in that role in his constant replaying if the event. Even if it is far-fetched to most people, the threat is very real to him. I can absolutely see where these filters come from, but I guarantee they color his perception. For example, I’m convinced his dad really does love him, he just struggles to show it. I’m betting his big brother also is capable of loving him. He was just doing what many siblings do in school. But that doesn’t mean the same dynamics have to carry over into adulthood. Also, while many older siblings tell younger siblings to basically pretend they don’t know each other at school, the second someone attacks the younger sibling the older sibling will usually go into protection mode. Even if you are trying to find your own way and are distancing yourself from your whole family - not just your siblings - your siblings still are ultimately under your protection and no one is allowed to hurt them. I think he is also missing the part of the story that his mom had moved on and was happy in her new relationship, and although Charles wasn’t great at being a husband to her, he was actually a pretty decent ex-husband. He is missing the part where his dad stood up to his grandma by insisting Diana get all possible honors in her funeral no matter what protocol said should happen. He is missing the part that his dad really was put in an impossible place. If you have Harry walk behind his mother’s coffin you are a monster for forcing a young boy who is in mourning to bear his grief publicly. However, if you don’t have him walk behind the coffin you are a monster because you didn’t let him get closure and be a part of a very important event. And although Charles clearly didn’t want to be married to Diana, the way he insisted on giving her all honors suggests he genuinely was grieving at some level, too. He probably realized the mother of his sons was gone and he didn’t know how to emotionally handle that with his kids. While they had their rough times, they really did seem to have gotten to a better place where they at least respected each other and were starting to work as a different, co-parenting team. Sure, it’s not the level of grief most people would like to have seen. Perhaps it is better described as confusion more than grief. But it still made it hard to figure out the right thing to do. Through these lenses, Harry also probably believes his family has way more control over the press than they really do, so when his partying ends up on page 1 of a tabloid the only explanation is it is to distract from Camilla. It couldn’t possibly be that the press found the story extremely newsworthy by itself. He also probably can’t see that the reason everyone in his family care about the press so much is because the press and public opinion literally can make or break the entire family. They aren’t throwing him to the media, they are trying to teach him effective strategies for dealing with the media so they become his supporters rather than eating him alive.
