Your car will be over estimating by a few % as well so the GPS will more likely be right

Hi fella, another cracking video. I would take the GPS as the reading as they are generally calculated from 4 points of monitoring, ie there are 4 x satellites pulling the info and wizzing it back to your phone or satnav. I had a chat with Adam from Tasso works in Edinburgh and he recons 60-62 mph tops as its dependant on the gearing which will restrict the top end. Ive had a quote to change my gearing and exhaust, up the head and piston to a 180 with re mapping of the ECU and its about £795 plus labour which will give you about 75mph. Just gives you that extra on the main A roads and dual carriage ways and its £4K cheaper than a 300cc Alloy. As long as your enjoying yourself and keeping safe it doesnt matter really. Keep the vids coming and stay safe bud.

Yours is definitely faster than mine.. I max out at 57 (on speedo) so an actual 52 ish I guess? (21 reg/2000 miles /no flyscreen/ 13 stone) like you it's my first scooter so I've no experience of riding any other 125, but the lack of speed when I'm riding in our group (mainly vespas 125 - 300) where I feel I'm punishing the engine at full throttle to keep up has prompted me to go for my proper bike test. ❤️ The videos pal, always look forward to your content... Keep 'em coming! 👍

Well I could be wrong but Im guessing you’re a stone or two heavier and on these little engines that counts for a lot also it could be down to the brand of fuel for a small percent your air intake filters clean etc, was it properly run in, is it still being run in at 2k, I dont know much about four strokes. Can you adjust mixtures like on a two stroke? i dont mean high level tuning just tweaking? Maybe you got one built on a friday? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nice one, just a point - Most cars show about 10% faster than reality. Citoen show 34 when actually 30 - it helps not getting speeding fines. So yes as Andrew said, GPS is more likely to be right. Cheers

At the end of the day how fast do you want to go? It's a scooter not a Honda fireblade. Don't forget it has tiny tyres with not a lot of rubber contact between you and the road and they are not built to handle like a motorbike. Just my opinion but 55 is as fast as I want to be doing on one of these

Brilliant video as ever pal .. I’m new to scootering and absolutely love it but I can’t understand the obsession with some people on speed with a scooter ! Surely doing 50-55mph is more than adequate on 10 inch wheels, scooterIng is amazing fun but if it’s all about speed for some people, then maybe they should be riding the big cc bikes and not scooters. Keep up the great videos pal 👌 scootering for life 🇬🇧

Hello matey. What is the maximum rpm on your GT. My TG goes upto 7500 rpm. This is showing 53mph on my speedo, which we know is not correct. I'm trying to find out if the rpm is restricted, or if there is a way to increase the maximum rpm limit. If I can increase this to at least 8000, I might be able to get 55 to 60 mph. Do any of the other scooter lad's have any tips.

Hi Garry, thanks for the feedback. My speedo has been very erratic, some days it works fine, some days it doesn't. Apparently it can be the crap that gets into the sensor on the front wheel that affects it. I'll be tackling it in the next few days to see if I can rectify it, look out for a video coming soon. 😁 thanks for watching 🛵👍🏻😁

Gps uses time speed distance from at least 2 atomic clocks (3 for location) and the Universal Transverse Mercator... So its about the most accurate thing you have to measure speed. Your car is designed to be out so you don't speed. All information is open source.

Hello matey. My TG 125cc ac is showing an average cruise of 53mph on the speedo. It's only done 350 miles from new. I'm hoping it will open up a bit more after it's 600 mile first service. I'm thinking about fitting a fly screen to keep the wind off me. I don't know if this will make a difference.

The air cooled RA’s will realistically get 54-60mph depending on weight of the rider. The WC engine should see 60+ depending again on weight. The AC unit is a basic GY6 design, 8-9bhp is your lot. Very tuneable though, first thing I’d do is a cam and big valve head. Combined with increased fuelling 11-13bhp is realistic. I’m not a fan of remapping, much prefer a carb conversion…

@@chrislawton5486 Realistically they are still pretty poor compared to the big Japanese 4 but none of them have styling that comes close to the RA. It’s a sacrifice mate 👍 Ps the 125 ac is going to feel very slow compared to the 200… test ride one first… The 125 ac is peppy to 40mph, above this it’s a struggle. The 200 was a proper engine, LC, 4v head, originally designed by a major manufacturer with a ton of R&D. The 125 ac, a copy of a copy of a copy of a 1980’s design.

We need to keep in mind that GPS calculates speed assuming that from one point to second we movef exacltly stright. How much distance is between readings? With turning or making small moves it may be not true. This way reading may be not the same as for scooter wheel and of course lower. Theory says so.

good video, untill you put up your graph that is completely wrong, gps is correct your car is not.. its for this reason the police always allow a few percent as your reading say 35 when only realy doing 31 in your car..... if this is top speed down a slight hill then these are not that good..... now performance does count a lot when going on a long drive. you dont want to be going along at 50 55 and the motor is struggling and wearing out.... if you got a 65 to 70mph bike your cruising at 50/55 .... so the top speed on this is a bit poor. do we know what the rpm is at this speed ? and if the engine is governed by anything like the intake ? crap air filter ? jet too small etc.. rpm would be a good thing to know with all these scooters..
