How Fast Does A Mustang Mach-E Charge On A Tesla Supercharger? 10-80% Test

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Mach-E charged from 10-80% a bit faster than Ford claimed. But it took more than a couple of tries to get it right.

Nice little rundown video. I would have liked to see a brief explanation of where/how to park to not block two Tesla spots though.

That handshake took a while. Hopefully Ford/Tesla can cut that down.

It started charging as soon as the blue light turned on. The presenter didn't know when it actually started. It charged 2% before he turned the screen on.

Second blue light: above 20% battery charge. The handshake completed when it was blue.

I have a Mach E with extended range battery since November 23. I regret not buying a Tesla due to the charging network. CCS charging is awful and unreliable. The addition of the Tesla network is a benefit- but if one travels a lot- CCS is awful any way cut it at this point in time . The car is fine- its the charging that sucks and the addition of Tesla network is just a bandaid and not a solution.

Ford initially promised us a Premium Long Range for the test, and that's what we used on the failed test (first attempt). The second attempt is on a GT model, and we didn't update our script/talking points. We're sorry for the mixup!

The car should show how fast it is charging. Amazes me that Ford can not display that basic, but universally delivered metric on most other EV's.

@@Realmccoy818 I've got a 77k mile VW e-golf, it has DC fast available but never used. The car (in normal weather 55deg or better) still gets advertised factory range. (88 miles) sometimes my guess meter shows 96 miles range, and it's pretty dialed in. BTW a/c doesn't seem to impact range a lot, of course heat use below 45 deg ambient is killer to range. I'm here typing because after 7 months with the e-golf, I am considering buying a pre-owned Mustang Mach-E GT, and the Tesla adapter is part of my deal with the dealer who ordered the adapter for the car in February, so it should be here soon.

@@gregpochet4812 you want to justify driving an EV, and there is no justification. Unless you are a metro commuter. I am not. I run anywhere from my home in Texas to Georgia, Missouri and other points east, and all over Texas. Big state. I'm sure there are a fair number of people who do interstate travel. EV range is catching up, but the price and charge rate are ridiculous. When they get it right, I will consider one. But I won't drive an inferior, impractical vehicle while they "work the problems out." They are fun, I've driven one. But I have more fun on my GSXR.
