When I was 5, I ran away from home to the fire house down the street. I wanted to be a fireman. I still remember sitting in the fire truck driver seat when they came to get me.

God I miss being a firefighter (volunteer)! I loved the times that kids wanted to come and check out the equipment and put on the bunker gear etc. Hopefully I helped some people in the years that I was on the dept. It was one of the few things I ever did in my life that I was proud of!

I helped to extinguish a brush fire. I was so happy and relieved when the V.F.D. arrived . I then knew that we would succeed.

My daughter loves our police department. She especially loves watching them on Live PD each week. And of course any fire department I have a craft show at she gets them to show her the truck and a hat.

You can tell these videos are old. After 9/11 the thing we would never forget. Everyone loved and respected Police, Firefighters, and other first responders. Now even just reading recent comments, not only have we forgotten 9/11 people are killing first responders and completely disrespecting these hero's. You better pray you never need one. As I like to say I'm sure they are the nicest people I never have to meet by accident.
