I've always watched English KZreadrs. Weather it's Gaming or Art. Educational like you, or just tips! Plain fun, even. I'll be off to practicing and writing more in my free time! Other stuff like that. And its kind of weird. My mind is completely in that accent when I'm thinking, but when I talk to my friends it's an American accent. Interesting. That's why I'm learning this for my own sake since it makes me feel more comfortable at home ^^ love your videos! These lessons are very helpful. Mmm.... (Debates.).. Cheers! Heheh, I've always wanted to do that some time!

As ESL student, British accents are more clearly pronunciation than American accents. I guess the real cause of the ESL-speakers don't understand British speakers is using British "expressions" we don't know and we never heard about it in American movies !

i grew up learning english using american accent, then i pursued my master's degree in scotland for one year where people talk in varied accents. right now my brain is kinda messed up, i pronounced things in mixed accents (since not all my professors are scottish, some of them are british, and i learnt american accent before). i'm no longer sure how a certain word should be pronunced as i listened to many accents, which sometimes makes me forget at all how a certain word sounds. sometimes, when i picked up scottish accent with some british accent, people told me it sounded like a new accent altogether and it confused them too. the thing is, i am teaching university students in Indonesia (where english is an additional language), do you think i should stick with one accent or is it okay to mix up accents? i am teaching peonunciation as well.

It's normal that people speaks their native languages faster than second language since their brains can process it naturally. Still, like Elliot said, accents and cultures sure do have influence in speed of speaking a language. I'm working in an international company, Indian people speaks clearly faster than most Asians even those with native English like Phillipines and Singaporeans, let alone those who use English as a second language. Westerners usually try to speak a bit slower with us, but when I go out and have some drinks with them, they kinda slowly forgot and speak with their natural pace, since I can mostly understand it anyway, too. It's always enjoyable to exchange in English.
