There are some 865cc bore kits out there now, or something like that... will be interesting to see if RE starts producing a bigger stock bore. The fastest I ever went was 196kmh (120 mph) on a '93 Virago, when I was young and a bit crazy. 75 - 80 mph is more than enough for me, now... so I'd probably just stick with the stock 650. I have to say that I have a Interceptor 650 with the 16 tooth cog conversion fitted, and (off Highway) , I have done 105 mph twice on the flat, I have heard people getting More than this, but you have to wait to build up, not be in a rush, which in the USA may not be a problem with lots of long highways out of towns, but in the UK, You are really best doing it on a track, Or Air Field, It was a guy with a GT told me about the Cog conversion, I also have a DNA Air Filter fitted, Standard front Pipe's, and reverse cone megas fitted, frees it up great 👍 Sounds good as well, Cheers Paul

Thanks for telling me your experience man! If it wasnt for texas highways, I wouldnt be able to get enough room to hit the 110-115 mph. Currently after 4 years of riding this bike at 16,000 miles, it will top out at 105 normally
Awsome video! Just the one i was looking for and in Texas! Btw, how bad is the wind and riding position, could you ride for more than half an hour?
@EspressoRacer

Hey man! I've had the GT 650 for 4 years and over 16,500 miles on it and you can absolutely ride it for more than 30 min! My commute to work has always been slight above 30 min and I've also done countless 2-3 hour trips on it. The only time I feel it is when I first started riding in general, but you'll learn where the comfort spots are on the bike. If you're comparing the riding position to a super sports bike, it's not even close to the discomfort. Best wishes!

@EspressoRacer
2 жыл бұрын
Hey Colton! I've done many long rides similar to what you are mentioning. Most group rides I go on the weekends range from 4-6 hours depending on the road (mostly highway). The GT 650 handles 75mph very very well :) If you swing by Houston, let me know!
@hawkrider88
2 жыл бұрын
The thing about my long rides at 75+ MPH on a highway or Interstate is the grooved pavement and the wind on a 650 naked bike. I'm not young any more but not out of shape...but those kind of rides can be tiring.
How's the level of comfort in the full throttle or at least in semi-full? How shaky is it in 6th gear? I've heared mixed opinions about it but I really think about buying it but wondering about the 6th gear... Thanks for the video :)
@EspressoRacer
3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Great question :) Full throttle is honestly not bad, especially at corners which is so much fun! The shakiness if anything just comes from wind (lack of windscreen/fairings) and light motorcycle. You can't go wrong with the GT 650! This was my first bike and one I will probably keep for a very long time.
@rushangpujara5229
2 жыл бұрын
@@EspressoRacer Awesome video and awesome response, I hope it will be my first bike too. The more I see it the more I fall in love with it. Followup quesiton though, if it is a particularly windy day, how does it limit you on the highway? How much speed do you lose in the case of a head wind and how stable does it feel in crosswind.. I hear the bike is fairly heavy which should help, and the cafe racer position could help as well.. Maybe even lowering the clip on bars to get a tighter lower position even
@EspressoRacer
2 жыл бұрын
@@rushangpujara5229 this is a great question! At highway speeds, the wind can be rough to deal with (especially where I am now where it is very windy with flat land). When I was in NJ or even Houston, TX the wind from high speeds is not bad at all, just the wind and crosswind can sometimes catch you off guard if you are not paying attention. If you are properly tucked in however, wind shouldn't be a factor!
Ive not taken mine over 100 yet its still in break in period , On this Bike I dont think its really required to break the land speed record I got two other Bikes that are more than capable. My Gt is used to just cruise around and look exceptionally cool .... so Ive been told , lots of complements on the Bike, I'm thinking due to a lot of people have not seen this Cafe Bike before

Yeh 105mph totally standard....No difference with scorpion exhaust and dna open filter...down to gearing but more than enough on this bike. Nice looking mods 👍
Bad sound, hollow sound lack of bass.

@@EspressoRacer , I like your videos and I follow them closely, only that engine has a very good sound in general, the scape you use makes it sound hollow or it is not appreciated well. A hug

Yes sir!
I'm in Houston and have have the same bike. That's where the similarities end. If I saw you riding like that near me I wouldn't give you the time of day for even a proper nod or salute. There is a huge difference between riding like a complete jackass in Houston on I-10 (that first look you gave the car who "cut you off" in the feeder. Really?) and testing how fast a bike can go, and it's clear which you are.
