    Those eye protection techniques are next level, the hand-shield technique, the look away technique, and my favourite the peek-a-boo face shield technique. This is what safety looked like in the USA 100 years ago.

    I have seen better welds from first year welding students. Welding over paint no way those will hold. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME.

    cm precision work right there, not that high precision is called for on all the stages. Some impressive work with the blowtorch, especially the first guy doing freehand cuts through 3 cm plate. Extremely skillful work. If I had a real complaint, it would be the lack of cleaning the metal before welding, and the lack of safety.

    It would have been nice to see a bevel cut here or there with some of those critical joints. But you gotta have customers soo don't build it too well. They'll need repairs down the road. Once a customer, always a customer.

    Plates should be beveled and cleaned before welding. They'll flex and the welds will break. No welding tracks in wear area to reduce wear on surfaces.

    I’m not really care that much about surface rust or contaminants when using stick welding,But about the plate that need to be beveled? I’m agreed with you,it’ll be whole lot stronger if they beveled it.

    Yep does need the bevels, then fill with weld, and just some general grinding/sanding to clear the area being welded from contaminants.

    I can't believe that bucket would last five minutes digging anything but mud. They didn't bevel their butt welds, they didn't grind off paint, rust, slag, dirt, etc. before welding, their long welds were more or less a group of spot welds instead of a stabilised, continuous and even weld, etc., etc.. This video should be shown in welding classes as an example of what NOT to do.

    people need cheap ass buckets, too. I bet you can buy like ten of those for the price of a JCB or CAT bucket of the same size. Life of the machine comes into play, too. If its like 8000 hours on it not gonna drop some nice new bucket made of high quality shit.

    CSA approved open toes! Nice job for working in a ditch, although most of it is just glued together as opposed to welded. For farm trucks sake, buy these guys some eye pro! I can see the rust rings from here. If you lose a toe you can still see and walk, lose an eye you're dinked.

    The guy with the cutting torch is amazing. The rest of them need to buy a Harbor Freight auto darkening welding helmet with the 20% off coupon, wear wooden clogs to cover the toes and some gloves. They are hard workers. Not in a welfare line looking for a handout.

    You guys are like building a Canoe with just only an Ax, where Integrity is not an issue, as long as it floats. Tacking 2 thick steel plates without even beveling the sides for sure weld penetration. I am sure that you guys have hand drills that could bore holes for the bolts of the side plate for better fit, but opted not to use it. You have an Angle Grinder so I am sure you have a Hand Drill.

    Soy metalúrgico. Uso máscara. Guantes los más duros una pinza de 600 amperios...etc ..ellos una pinza común. Casi no usan máscaras. Sin guantes .etc. y para mí son unos de los mejores soldadores que eh visto ..son unos genios realmente los felisito colegas..Ala los bendiga!!!!
