I am a single Dad raising three daughters on my own. Two years ago the mother (divorced) lives 600 km away from us and not involved in the family so I found this message hard to grasp.

So so sorry to hear Dave. Where the ideal is lacking, God's grace abounds to be what is needed. The father to the fatherless is alao the father to the motherless

Conservative churches tend not to accomodate or even acknowledge people who don't fit into their cookie cutter ideals. They have ideas about what a man should be, about what a woman should be (often extra biblical) etc. If you don't fit in to their description you will feel like an outsider among them. These churches have a very cult vibe to them. They are very judgemental and have a holier than though attitude to anyone they perceive as "different".

When a spouse walks away unrelenting and in sin, then perhaps one can take courage from the parable of the prodigal son. 1) You wait - for God to work it out and the spouse returns. 2) You choose to stand as the Father, who has no guile in the heart and waits with Christ-like love AND NOT like the elder brother, spiteful and with hate. This message is given to a normal couple who are both seeking to live for Christ, but the principal remains the same - how should a man choose to deal with his own heart and his own claim to rights. Is the heart learning to let go and be Christ-like through the power of the Holy Spirit? @Dave. Comfort can come only from the author of comfort. He only, if you can share your heart out with him with no expectations, bring peace and strength in your situations. The Lord has also left for us many saints as examples to follow; I can immediately think of Michelle Qureshi. Stay blessed my friend

What if your wife feels bad, because she is always the one who seemingly is sinning „more“ against her husband?

Every point is relevant, but please have a conversation for and with Dads about how to appreciate their daughters without body shaming their daughter. A seething teen girl could be trying find a way to recover from being body shamed. This can be traumatic! A Christian father can be insensitive with words as well!

    What is body shaming?

@@humblelowlyservantofthemos1095 Body shaming is when an individual shares his or her opinion on the physical characteristics of another person with that person. A young girl or a female young adult may be too skinny or may have a problem with over weight, and a father could link the kind of clothes worn with physical structure of the body. This is very traumatic for the young girl/woman because a daughter always judges herself through the eyes of her earthly father. Different cultures and different countries have so many different ways of perceiving body shape and expectations of a female. It is the duty of a father to encourage and teach modesty, but a Godly choice of words makes a big difference. Just laying the responsibility on the father is not enough. The father is the very first man who will tell a daughter how she is perceived by others in the World. A gentle manner will help reduce the issues of anger experienced by the teenager or young adult daughter.

Additionaly, we should model repentance and forgiveness . If daddy says something wrong, forgiveness should be foremost in the mind even of children to parents
