How engine oil protects - How the Engine Pressurized Lubrication System Works - 1937

This video does an excellent job at showing how engine oil protects an engine, and prevents two moving metal parts from making contact and creating unnecessary wear. The video also shows how a pressurized lubrication systems works, minus the modern oil filter. I don't think oil filters were in wide used in 1937. This video is old, but I often find these older educational videos to be better quality, and do a better job at explaining fundamental principals of engine repair.
Thanks for watching!

A 78 year old film is better at explaining the lubrication system than any other video on youtube...

AMEN! ALL these old videos on automotive systems are so much better than any modern ones I've seen. try out the ones on the automatic transmission and the differential. Absolute gold

This is somehow more informative and understandable than modern videos on the same thing.

Love those old informative videos, they don’t make them that good anymore..thanks
6:00 that involute gears animation is absolute gold tho, back when everything have to be drawn and animated by hand and maybe with the help of a sliding ruler, they managed to keep the animation realistic and believable like modern day 3D animation.
i had to see a 83 year old video to understand how pistons are lubed ,and how important is air recirculation to eliminate all fuel vapors caused by short trips
Genius! Also remember to change engine oil and filter regularly
Best video that exists on KZread on this topic, it's great they actually show things for real like with the amount of pressure instead of just citing a number.
Amazing how all this was done without CNC machines, CAD or computers!

All automobile videos frm Chevrolet teach me to understand complicated engineering easily ! Thank You Chevrolet !
you can never get an explanation as simple as this,,,
wow...glad that i came across with this video...the best information you shared with me about a vehicle lubrication system...thanks for your effort...salute from the philippines.
This was so very well explained.
These videos make me feel good

Engine oil is the heart of an engine

And that's why my old granps was a good teacher.
am i the only who thinks that this part 3:12 was oddly satisfying
I am doing some research for making a dry sump block from scratch and knew this would be the best explanation ever! But I cannot go without quoting: "In the modern engine(1937) the main bearings carry the load of the crankshaft as it twirls at !HUNDREDS! of revolutions each minute!" Even though it sounds funny by now you must respect that even today's 20k rpm F1 engines get lubricated the same way!
thank you...
Oldie but goodie.
brilliant

lets hear a round of applause for motor oil
man watching this is depressing, it just reminds me that no one does anything fun anymore just stare at their phones like zombies all the time...

If you wanted to use the original video at least mention them 😊

What is the speakers name,
Film at 11.
An 83 old video has better 3D animation, video editing and explanation done with tech from that time then today times with current tech...We went backwards in development...We improve technologies but overall we become dumber with each generation...
skip forward 90 seconds, for the first dialogue :i
