I can’t hardly watch this.. the historical errors regarding WWII are so blatant and obviously incorrect that it makes it difficult to take anything that follows in this film very seriously.

in 1945 the Nazi's did not bomb its own Neues Museum Berlin, Germany. It was destroyed maybe before that date or by the Soviets who liberated Berlin. Hitler was in his bunker at that time and I think had committed suicide by then. The Soviet Union did remove all the art treasures it came across to the Soviet Union where many have remained till this day. During World War 2 the Nazis took care of their own art treasures and stored the art safely along with the art treasures stolen from their enemies. The Allies did so too. So the opening sentences of this documentary are incorrect. You can see in the film it is the Soviets. This just goes to show how easily history can be manipulated. How did this get past Perspective? No no no! It was not brave Berliners who cleared up the mess. The Allies ordered all able bodied Berliners to clear up the rubble. The Berliners had no choice. It took months and the work was mainly undertaken by hand by young women. Hope this is the last of the historical inaccuracies. The young presenter has no idea just how evil the Nazis were. The bullet holes are left as a reminder that unless the Allies had stopped Hitler and his belief in the superiority of the German race many more would have died in slavery and concentration camps. The Soviet Union lost 70 million citizens and without them the Europe and the USA could not have won this war. It is "Not touching to see!" it is a reminder of what had to be destroyed to save Europe. It was necessary. He was right about the fake at the end!

@@JR-sq2ofno..you have to pay better attention..that is exactly what is said at the beginning of this documentary " in 1945 Hitler's Nazi troops attacked Berlin"..surely the bombing of Berlin was done by the allied troops..or was Dresden also bombed and culturally destroyed by the Nazi's?

"The nazis stormed the museum..." Shows video of soviet troops with a clear soviet flag storming the museum FACEPALM. 2:17 Even worse, the Trümmerfrauen or the women who helped clean up Berlin were not volunteers. They were conscripted by the allied forces to do the work. This is spoken about now at the museum... so its strange that the presenter seems to have missed that part.

Interesting. The title of the video is abut how the museum was bombed and stolen egyptian treasures and then the video gets that info incorrect and only talks about the history of egypt. Nothing about how the museum was bombed or stolen treasures. Interesting perspective of misdirection.

As a lot of people have pointed out, your WWII errors are kind of breathtaking. I would like to add that your facts on Egypt are also not well researched or thought out. Akhenaten was a heretical pharaoh because he banned the worship of ALL gods and instituted the worship of the Aten ("Akhen" = effective for "the Aten"). The Aten was not a god; it was a symbolic representation of the life giving energy that fills the universe, and it was represented by a sun-like disc, but it was not a "god" in the sense of every other god in the Egyptian pantheon. This is such an important moment in history - the first state-sanctioned monotheism - that it really seems like it's worth getting right. I would appreciate seeing better editorial control from Perspective. This kind of half-thought-out, disjointed content only misleads half the audience and makes the other half feel like you're talking down to them. Nobody wins.

Your expert does not understand Egyptian names of kings. Kufu was the name of the king at birth. The king got a throne name and two ladies name on becoming King. These names where used in the cartouches. Kufu would never appear in a cartouche. What other stupid things has he said with out evidence

I don't think Perspective are doing a great job of filtering through videos these days anyway. There's been a few where I've stopped and jumped back the video to check that I'd heard what I thought I'd heard, then groaned. I think that's often because the video's are so badly out of date. The WWII bit could have been easily edited out and to be fair I think it was a genuine, and very obvious mistake, by Curtis Ryan Woodside, the presenter. I think he generally makes up for it with his enthusiasm for all things Egyptian, so I think I'll forgive him this one word slip.
