I'm glad I was able to take this journey on with everyone on stream

I love these types of videos not only are they wish fulfillment but they are so comforting. I've played pokemon for almost 20 years now and the slogan gotta catch them all keeps me coming back for a new journey

That's one reason I started doing these and I'm glad I have finished gens 1 and 2. Catching them all starting in gen 3 has been getting slightly harder with the amount of games everything is spread over, but it is still a blast

As a first gen player, nothing can really describe how overwhelming and amazing gen 2 was to us. It was for the longest time the only true sequel till B&W did their thing, but gen 2 really felt like the next chapter to 1 and it was just man so amazing. While I love gen 1, gen 2 is so special to me as a kid I played silver and crystal so much and other than mew and celebi, obviously, I completed the DeX

I think this was the first time I completed the dex for gen 2. I figured I might as well do a living dex while I'm at it. I added some humor in describing, but it was revolutionary to have a game like this, mostly because they thought this was the last Pokemon game

This also counts as a hidden ability dex so highly valuable for Pokemon breeders

Very cool! We're doing gen 3 on stream. Other than some eggs, Emerald is finished, Fire Red is like 90% done, and next up is Colosseum

Something that would be amazing to see is a SHINY living dex. GSC is the only gen in which that's realistically possible, with a single shiny Ditto (which can be caught with a glitch if it comes down to that) guaranteeing you like 240 out of 250 thanks to the breeding mechanics and Stadium 2 both allowing for "legit" sped up gameplay and showing you shiny eggs without having to hatch them (and yes, you can shiny hunt in RBY - including Mew - with a DV calculator, master balls and a couple of dozen rare candies). I'm really looking forward to the generation III video, that's gonna be a tough one. You need like half a dozen different games across multiple consoles and peripherals that were probably discontinued close to 20 years ago, and (I think) Japanese games and hardware if you truly want to reach 386. Also, props for doing all of that at normal speed, there's no way I could do that. I know opinions vary on that but I find gens 1 and 2 absolutely unplayable at anything less than 3-4x speed.

A shiny living dex would be really cool for gen 2. I didn't know about the ditto thing. That's pretty cool. I actually tried to finish Pokemon Stadium 2 so I could have the Gameboy Tower get a speed boost, but that game is insanely difficult without a team from gsc and I just didn't have time to breed a team together. I was able to speed up the gen 1 game for that living dex, though. Gen 3 has been fun. Emerald is basically done, and Fire Red is too. Next up is Colosseum

Yeah, need the JP copies and to set some event flags with GS codes to actually acquire all of them in gen 3. Also the shiny Ditto in gen 2 is the ultimate shiny hunt necessity, in addition to a few other breeding mechanics, odds become closer to 1 in 5 when done right

I recently Discovered how fun dex completing is in pokémon through a rom hack that restored the beta of g/s, something about doing that made me super impartial to grinding lmao, i might try to complete a living dex eventually in one of the games (probably through a hack that allows full dex completion in one game because third world country issues) because that seems really Fun!!!

Yeah for sure. Go for it. I'm planning on going the distance with a complete living dex in every generation, but even then with gen 9 we still don't have all 1k+ Pokemon on 1 cartridge yet

I'm working on my own gen 2 dex journey! Not a living dex 😅 but just regular pokedex completion.

Just discovered this channel. Overall great video ans im lopking forward to aee how you complete the gen 3 pokedex (i havent yet seen it at the moment im typing this. I will after I finish typing this.) You can get Celebi without 3rd party devices though so you should have tried to get it still. That would be my only issue with the video everything else was almost flawless.

Thanks! I actually was playing on the cartridge through the Gameboy Player on the Gamecube and as far as I am aware, you can't get Celebi without external help. See you in gen 3.

This is just the regnioal dex, not a living dex. A living dex is having each pokemon in the pc for example: Chikorita, Bayleaf and Meganium. Just evolving a Chikorita to a Meganium is just 1/3 of the set.

It is a living dex. There are 244 Pokemon in the PC and 6 on the team by the end of the video. I just didn't show the other Chikorita evolving into Bayleef. I could have said "evolved 2 Chikorita into Bayleef, and 1 Bayleef into Meganium" I guess

You're playing on real cartridge, right? If you want a legit Mew and a legit Celebi, without using glitches or cheating, there is a dumped save for each one of them you can find online, one for Blue and one for Crystal, with those Pokémon obtained from Nintendo events back in the day. You can use a device that can backup GB/GBC game saves, make a backup, put those saves on your cartridges, then transfer Mew and Calebi, and then put your original back on the cart. That's how I did to get mine.

Currently we're finishing up Colosseum on Sunday and starting Gale of Darkness on Tuesday and we only stream 3 days a week. I'm also doing weekly progress updates for the video in the community tab

Can you please do Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed and LeafGreen Full Gen 3 Living Dex in regular Pokéballs, please? Please do it right now as soon as possible! When will this video be released? I can't wait this long right now as it could take just a very longer time!

That's a really cool idea. I think I will write that one down, but I am currently in the middle of the regular gen 3 living dex and yeah gen 3 does take a long time to get through, but I am finished with the GBA portion and am working through Colosseum. XD is next.

Very true. There's a lot they added that I didn't mention, like time, being able to play as a female character in crystal and having male and female genders for Pokemon, the fact that they split up the special stat to create special attack and special defense, evolving certain Pokemon and having certain Pokemon evolve into the gen 1 Pokemon, a lot of new moves and some moves types were changed like Karate Chop and Gust. I didn't list everything just because I felt like it would take up too much time. Gen 2 really added more than people think about. It's insane

@@nobodyspecial115 some of the sprites in red/blue were so good, like water onix, but overall gen 2 did them justice, especially Gengar. That one has yet to be topped by any other generation

That's actually pretty on brand for stream. There's a Wheel of Punishment we have and some of the choices are different cosplays, like Goku and a Pikachu Onesie. This was Alice from Alice in Wonderland, but I didn't want to wear the wig
