Great video. You seem like you run an amazing business. Much respect.

A lot of people have no idea how pawnshops work, think they rip people off. When in fact most pawnshops are honest. People tend to think when they buy an item from a store, that’s what the item is worth. If you buy a $1000 ring from a jewelry store, a big part of that cost is overhead - money that you’re never going to back unless you find someone on eBay to pay. The pawnshop also has to consider how long it will take to sell the item if they end up with it. Pawnshops are risk and reward, some items might sell fast and make a profit, while other items could sit on a shelf for a few years and make no profit. All this is taken into consideration.

Story that just happened. Pawn shop almost refused to release a rifle to my friend and I after 2 weeks of it in pawn. He was homeless. "Items in pawn so we can't do a FFL transfer into your name". Ok, ill stand here and buy it for him. "He doesnt have a current drivers license so he needs a new one to prove his state residency." Bro WTF. 1 week later we get it all figured out "we dont accept credit card." *cash advances loan amount from my credit card straight to my debit card* 🖕

Thanks for the good explanation, i grew up in Florida and some of the local Pawn Shops we had around Ft Lauderdale area. Were a place myself and many of my freinds shopped at very regularly especially on hand guns and tools i didnt realize All of what the shops have to offer The reasons we. Used to shop at the stores we went to. Were basically we felt the owners were pretty honest with us on the items plus on the handguns. They used to go thru them and fix any issues they may have had he would also give us a fair deal on a trade in and work with you on a lay away pan if we needed it Its funny after i eft Florida I ive for 20 years in Maryland and many people there had negative feelings on Pawn shops in general ? The ones i did visit locally in my opinion were not very good shops as far as deals. I used to look religiously for acoustic guitars but many of the ones they had were beat up too much for my liking i wound up buying new from a loca music store

I respect this guy he's honest and straight forward not all pawnshops use u or trap u much respect 👏 💯

Pawn means loan. Most pawn shop will look at account history. So if you get loans that you aren't picking up, because you weren't aware of the fact that it is a loan. It could hurt how much they give you if you ever do get a loan

They want to hook you for that 25% a month ripoff interest rate. But yes, if you don't go back and pay in time, you generally forfeit your item. Pawn shops basically prey on people who have money problems. If you are able to, it's always better to sell privately on craigslist or ebay. If you need a loan as he describes, and it's a one time thing, and you know you're getting bent over by the interest rate, I guess it's better than no option at all.

one of my assistant managers took in a computer processor and paid over a hundred dollars for it he would probably get fired if he did it again and by the way it was not a very good processor and had nothing with it

You'll be dealing with all sorts of folks who need quick cash. It can be emotionally exhausting. Drug addicts and gamblers pawning their heirlooms that they'll likely never pay back. Single moms or laid-off folks pawning their valuables in the hope of 'bridging the gap'.

pawnshops should be selling items at used second hand prices, and not at retail prices, especially when they .buy in items at rock-bottom prices. nobody wants to pay £200 for a 20 year old amd Athlon laptop , when they probably bought the laptop off a desperate customer for £5.00

Hello Tim are you still in business? I only see 3 videos where you are talking about your pawn shop and they are all 2 years old. My question is... what kind of price can someone expect trying to get a loan for a diamond ring? The ring I have is a mans wedding band, 5 diamond yellow gold. Appraised for $2500.00 Can you tell me what you would think the loan amount would be from a pawn shop? I have the paper work to show the appraised information so its for sure the real thing. Rob Rausch Yeah mostly likely. Maybe certain once wouldn’t care but in general yes.

I always thought pawn shops offered half of half of what something will sell for. So, 25% I have a pawn shop close to me and we’ll I have never pawned anything I often do buy stuff from them but I have watched him and he’ll go to EBay completed items and then offer half of half of what something has sold for.

Generally if you sell something they will be at half. If you get a loan and have good history of picking up and extending your loans, some pawn shops will loan up to %80 of retail

+Xouki Long Pawn shops are really a great way to get fast cash with reasonable rates for what the transaction is. I personally bought a painting at a garage sell for $30 bucks, brought it to my home town pawn shop and sold it for $125.00 (had to haggle) but I got a great return. So just don't think of a pawn shop as a desperate way to get cash. It can be a money maker if you do like I did!

That sounds like something not particular to the trade. If a shop had the inclination, I suppose they could try. Dont expect that to be a reasonable assumption that they would however (more likely than not they will not).

if it's not fully automatic. no law that saws you can't own an assault rifle. again as long as it is not illegally modified. you can make a pump action shotgun that holds 3 shells hold 8 and fully automatic if you're savy. but then you can't pawn it or legally possess it.
