It’s kind of weird to think that snakes have a tiny tail when they seem like they’re all tail😅
I die inside everytime I hear someone ask “Is it poisonous?” “Does it have teeth?” “Do snakes poop?” All questions I have gotten from ADULTS who have never held a snake. But they will then try to tell me “it will stretch out and try to eat you” 😂😂

Where I live, you can find garter snakes all the time. I will occasionally pick one up, and have learned how to do it without just outright terrifying them, but the only way I know I've found one that recognizes me is because the ones that don't will piss all over my hands.
@Radi0_4563

@@faanvugeincynicalassassin does it smell like fish? Or just really bad? If so that may be musking! Snakes do it when disturbed or distressed by what they presume is a predator! Its basically just really smelly pee that they use to ward off predators.

Do the mothers get distressed when removed from their eggs? Or is it more like once they are separated, she just goes about her regular snake business? Do they normally stay with the eggs in the wild? I realize I'm spamming a little here, but I hadn't thought about it before, and am curious about how mom snakes may or may not react.
@nerodia
Жыл бұрын
@Scarf547 Hanging out to protect eggs is mostly a python thing. They also will shiver to (very inefficiently) keep them warm. Most other egg-layers will leave their eggs in hidden spots. In captivity, it's better for all involved to separate them so the mother doesn't waste energy protecting them and the eggs get incubated in a controlled way. The moms are only defensive till the eggs are out, then go back to their usual demeanor.
@grownman1017

Pythons will incubate their eggs for the entire duration of gestation. There are species of snakes that lay their eggs, and then leave them to fend for themselves. I have breeding ball pythons for 25yrs, and currently I have close to 200 snakes in the racks. I'm literally watching one of my females lay eggs as we speak.

Snakes are precocials,which means once they're born,they can live on their own without the need of depending on their parents
@thatonehorsegirl

They don’t get distressed if you wash the smell of the eggs off of them. They actually go back to normal life if you wash the smell off and they start eating again (they usually starve themselves during pregnancy). Hope this helps!

I've heard a lot of stupid myths and superstitions about snakes, but laying eggs from their mouth has got to be the worst
Out of the snake mouth , eggs? 🤨😥 DAMN! In all my 70 years , I’ve never heard that one……
Man you really just flashed us python butts 🤣🤣
Birds also have cloacas that they lay eggs out of, poop and reproduce.
What are the cloaca teeth for
So I've been checking out this channel and find it intriguing...I'm not a fan of full grown snakes, but do find the babies quit cute...that be said, how is it that snakes that are hatched from eggs, have an umbilical cord? I saw a previous video that showed the belly button "so to speak"

They are attached to the yolk and get their nutrients from that.

Wait, wait what!? The entire internet in our pockets and people honestly still think things like this!?
The word cloaca just unlocked a core memory, I vaguely remember a bird saying a cloaca is their one hole, for pooping, peeing and ej*culation. Boy, strange memories from 8 year old me.
found your channel, was under the assumption that all snakes gave live birth. now I know some lay eggs and aren't a hard shell. neat
Who is out here staying snakes lay eggs from their mouth? WHAT CREATURE IS LAYING THEIR YOUNG FROM THEIR MOUTH???? 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
so.. the snakes have the same hellhole as birds 💀

people have to understand that there's a few species of snake that actually consumes eggs like Finch eggs.. and bird egg eating snakes.

Not all snakes lay eggs. Among them are vipers, boas, anacondas, most water snakes and all sea snakes except for a single genus. Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox) Green Anaconda (Eunectes murinus) Death Adder (Acanthophis antarcticus) Yellow-bellied Sea Snake (Hydrophis platurus) Eyelash Viper (Bothriechis schlegelii) Eastern Garter Snake (Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis) And last but not least Common Boa (Boa constrictor) which lay about 60 snakelets at a time.
