If your fiance dumped you it was best they did because they didn't love you, if you had married them, a lot could have happened, may be death or a child where you had to be around them after they gotten a divorce. Somebody was looking out for you.

Dealing with sexual urge as a nun or christian is a disciplinary action that comes with grace. It's natural for humans to have sexual urge, overcoming such urge especially when you're committed to a course is by grace. God help and bless all celibate Christians.

Suppression of the urge is a sin one cannot hide anything from GOD it's also a GOD one should use his/her cravings/urges in limitations one should set a boundary for self suppressing a natural desire to indulge in a physical relationship will give us only sorrow GOD Doesn't say that you have to give up your urge completely it is good if he/she involves in a physical relation with only one partner in a marital relationship & be devoted to GOD & do service to the society.

I am a single parent and I have been living a single life for more than 10 years now. Life was hard especially when I was just 27 years old. I have had this problem for quite few years.Having sexual urges,surrounded with unholy thoughts and desires. These are very natural. At the same time my conscience was not allowing me to fall into that sin inspite of having a boyfriend . I had many temptations.But with prayers and more dedication to God, I have finally overcome the desires of the flesh. I urge you brothers and sisters to pray the Rosary everyday. Mother Mary will never let you fall into mortal sin. Now am living a celibate life. Am happy and I praise God for allowing me to go through all those tough times so that I could help others too in dealing with similar problems. Thank you Jesus.

To have gone the way it has indicates that it is rotten to the core and people and Catholics like Henry VIII did exactly the right thing and dissolved monasteries. Conversely and from another religions perspective the Prophet forbade music and monasticism in his Muslim religion. May i end by saying that he did well.and good to do so.

Thanks for sharing your reflection sister. I can also relate as I was once in the convent but sent back home due to my incurable disease. Indeed, the urge was part of humans but by devoting myself to prayer (spending more time in Eucharistic adoration or reading the Holy Bible) I was able to gradually decrease its intensity with the help of God's grace. Now that I'm a layperson committed to someone, I still apply the same principle. Prayer is my weapon :) God bless you sister and may God continue to inspire you in your vocation :)

Romans 12: 1-2 is truly applied here. "Offer yourself as a living sacrifice" The sacrifice of the sexual urges (the bodily desire) is a sweet smell to God Almighty. I am married, but this is relevant for me too. Not every marriage has physical intimacy guaranteed for life. Sometimes the physical intimacy ends and we have to deal with sexual urges the same way that nuns do.

This is inhuman and violation of basic human rights

I don't question how they deal with the urges but why they think it wrong. In the past, however, they knew how to deal with the young girls who did not refrain from their urges. They were put in a home, had their baby taken away and sold to a couple who wanted a baby.
