    Thank you Lisa for giving me as a new sewer the confidence to try new things in making my "creations". The first thing I tried were using a glue stick to make mug rugs for all my daughters nurse co-workers for Christmas 2 years ago. They turned out better than I had expected by using your step by step guidance. I'm now onto my next projects for Christmas mug rugs using applique. Thank you!

    Thank you Lisa for this video. It was GREAT !!!!! I finally understand the difference's between both of heat & bonds. I just recently asked you this question on a previous video. But then I thought maybe if I Google it.I can find out. And there you were showing a video. On the differences, I'm so glad I found you in this video. Because you always explain everything in a way that's easy to understand. Thank you again Lisa❤

    I guess you could use both in one project, i.e. I'd use the Lite on the bow b/c it looks cute stitched, but all the smaller pieces maybe the Ultra. That way you customize it & both can be washed in cold water. A win-win.👍💜🧡

    hi Lisa and thanks for sharing :) to fuse fabric onto cardstock would I want to choose the Lite or Ultrahold? obviously laundering is not a factor with cards but wondered if the same principle applies, ie that each piece would still need to be individually stitched with the Ultrahold.. thanks so much!

    I've used Heat n Bond Ultra on football jerseys in a quilt. The blocks are heavy and stiff. Will they soften up after washing them? There are several shirts bonded in this quilt and it feels like canvas. Help!

  • @TheQuiltmakerHomestead

    @TheQuiltmakerHomestead

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Naomi, do you mean that you've backed the entire shirt with HeatnBond Ultra instead of using a fusible interfacing....or in place of it? The nature of the Ultra is to add convenience of not having to sew down applique and things of this sort, and for the bond to be permanent. This convenience does come with some draw backs as the applique does turn out quite a bit stiffer than using the lite products that you have to sew when using. This MAY soften up over time, but sadly I don't think it will ever be supper cuddly....I'm hoping I'm wrong :(

    @@TheQuiltmakerHomestead I am making fairy wings and want to use a mixture of different coloured fabrics and films. The base is wire. If it were transparent, I could just lay a sheet of it over the entire wing. Otherwise I need to cut it into strips and place it along the wire where I want the fabric to fuse. I was going to experiment with the outer layer and try a mixture of heatnseal laminate and 3 or 5m laminate.
