Thank you for this great demo and explanation. Now I can quit buying the brand that I can never get the layer of film off after ironing, I get so frustrated. Now only need Heat n bond and my trusty Wash away tape.

Great tutorial as usual Laura. Would you be able to do something similar for fusible facings interfacings webs and fleece. Maybe you already have? It seems all the different brands use different terminology which is confusing.

The red one will not be good to sew through, but the other I have no problems with. But you can now get non-stick sewing machine needles which are great! amzn.to/2SMXrld

Hi I am just stumbling across this video I have a question if possible , ? I am trying to repair shredding 1950s vintage dress sheer organza top layer... I thought if I was to iron this on one side of the tear, remove the tape , Then overlap the other side of the tear just slightly to bonded together,, my question is: would there be a noticeable white mark? Or does it dry / fuse invisibly? Thank you for your help

Seeking advice: I need to do a single hem to shorten the length of our tablecloths for our wedding and due to time constraints don't want to do any sewing. They're a fairly thin sinvle layer poly blend fabric. I'm a bit confused as to why you would use the pink iron on hem tape vs. Just the peel and stick, is there a benefit to it over the peel and stick? Would you recommend one over the other for this project?

i am wanting to build a DIY bean bag. My idea was extremely large pieces of felt, gluing them together and then as a cover, some really soft blankets to cover the felt with a zipper (so i can wash the cover as needed). Do you think the strongest fusible tape would hold from the physical weight of a few people being on the bag? I'm planning on the bag being pretty large, enough to hold like 4 or 5 people.

Very helpful because these tapes are so confusing 😔. I am still confused between a hem tape without any glue on and the one with glue on one side. Aren't they both for hemming? Also, the ones for light and medium fabric, do they have to be stitched considering they are supposed to be permanent? What hppenens if they are left unstitched?

What is the trick to peeling the paper tape off the double-sided tape? I've seen it on youtube and people don't seem to have the same difficulty that I do.

Should you cut/remove the hem that is currently on the garment - therefore removing the bulk? So you can then hem the garment to the desired length. I worry about a jagged cut edge.

Hi Laura. Would you mind thinking outside the box to help solve my predicament for me please? This is going to be tricky to describe. After washing my outdoor boxed sofa seat covers (Sunbrella fabric), I have ended up with sections of fabric that have frayed & pulled itself out of the stitched piping seam. Not interested in picking it all apart and resewing. I have managed to pull some of the fabrics fiber that didn't get pulled all the way out back through the stitch to make it join back up (& put a bit of clear nail polish to hold it there) but there are sections that i can't do this. I was wondering if there is a type of fusible bias binding product that i could use to encase/sandwich the inside frayed seam edge to hold the problem sections in place so they couldn't get pulled back through. I was thinking maybe that "Making it Simpler Fusible Interfacing" strips may work by wrapping it over from one side of the seam to the other. Another thought was using separate strips of "Sew Easy Fusible Bias Tape" on each side of the seam to sandwich the seam together.........I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions. Sorry this is so long-winded. I hope I have described things so you can understand what I'm talking about. Kind regards, Christine

That is how I would do it too. You will only need to attache it on the one side, it should be strong enough. After it is fused on you can go over it and sew it down.

For me, I still think staystitching is the best. Anything else adds to much bulk.

Oh 🙈 I have another inquiry please The press stick tape is a better you think for such a delicate fabric? Will the bond stay? also can it be laundered or dry cleaned. Thank you so very much!! I’m trying to think outside the box to repair this vintage dress I’ve been looking at fabric glue spots they would definitely be entirely too noticeable and bulky looking. Thank you 😊 🙏🏽

Haha its funny you still need an iron to prepare the hem fold even when using the iron-less version... or maybe i’m missing other features and applications for the no iron tape.

It's just to set the seam for a cleaner look (beforehand). Large companies when mass producing jean shorts (as an example) will do this, and as you unroll them the ends are frayed and will have a crinkled look unless ironed out.

Which one would be good to put inside a face mask to make a pocket inside for a coffee filter? Can they be close to your face? Is it okay to have hem tape by your face to breathe? Just wondering! 😔 thanks! 💒⛪⛪😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😎😎
