Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Adaptive clothing for disabled people is SO incredibly helpful! For those of us with disabilities, doing buttons and zippers is extremely difficult. Getting dressed is often the hardest part of our day, because we can't do it on our own. However, thanks to adaptive clothing, that problem is resolved!
These clothes have helped me be much more independent and feel great about myself, so I thought I’d show you guys how they work!

Love that you are a runway super model. That's really neat that you were a first to model Kohl's clothing. Such a huge deal.

thank you. i am trying to learn how to adapt ready-to-wear clothing. i want to start a mission to 1. teach individuals to sew; 2. use those individuals to adapt/mend clothing for local needs, 3. create relationships to promote positive self image of person helping and person receiving. WARNING! magnets can turn off cardiac pacemakers. Be careful of cardiac pacemaker users: wearing and hugs

The single greatest invention for people with disabilities dressing is the 'sock aid' so smile and effective, there even a one handed version. Second to that is the simple grabber so people like myself who can’t bend can get clothing in place and start pulling trouser etc up. My wife is hemiparuplegic and has a splint on her paralysed leg to keep her foot straight, it’s really hard to find joggers for her. This is brilliant and I hope they are becoming more available in the UK, especially for younger people who want to be fashionable. I have to say you are the perfect choice as a model.

Love this video and inckidworld is an awesome inclusive brand that just expanded their sizes. It is just for kids right now but thought it would be useful for some of your viewers.

I think you look absolutely adorable. You have a good sense of style. I admire you for wanting to keep your independence. I think having a disability and loosing your independence would not be good for anyone. You are so strong!!👍

I had no idea that so many big name brands were becoming more inclusive. That’s so important. I am very sensitive to different type of texture and don’t have a good fine motor skills so buttons are difficult for me to do. I like wearing things like leggings and draw string shorts have a post to things like jeans and button down shirts. And I totally agree with you, nobody likes buttons LOL.

Thank you. I actually I’m looking for some for my grandma. She had limited use of one hand and is an able to bend very far. Do you have any recommendations on brands that are the most easy to get into and also fashionable. She like fashion a lot. Also do they have any clothing line that you know of we’re seniors which are adaptive?

My favorite is Tommy for fashion and function! It’s a bit pricey though which is a bummer. But I think it’s worth it! I’m not sure about any for seniors though

OK. Thanks for the recommendation. Could you put some of the links to the adaptive clothing website you mentioned here. My screen reader is a bit finicky with reading them from the description box.

@@asecretcourtofcrowsandcloc4084 hey, I know it's 3 weeks later but thought maybe it could be helpful anyways or maybe for someone else who reads this. Here's the 3 links from the description box that are direct links to clothing sites she mentioned. Since you mentioned seniors as well, the Tommy Hilfiger and Zappos links are probably the place to start. Kohl's has only things for kids and teens it looks like. Hope this is helpful. such an amazing video and the dress OMG! I absolutely love, I don't like buttons on clothes but i had to get use to it even though i dont like them but magnets omg that changes everything I would love that better plus i'm a plus size woman and i'm also disabled i talk a lot of disability but also mental health and autism and lgbtq+ content a lot because im very passionate about those topics, and i struggle being autisitc but also not knowing how to do certain things in life and having asthma and anemia and anxiety. I have ASD i'm on the spectrum because i have some unique characteristics of my own, Its hard to get SSI disability checks but also like to wear makeup but cant do that it i want ssi? and i cant dress pretty etc because i wont '' loo'k'' disabled? but disability can be physical or mental both are handicap. its not fair like why cant i be pretty and disabled? disabled people aren't ugly. love u and i love this video so much i just recently came across ur channel with ur disability story and clicked so fast i got emotional. I doubt you'll ever see this comment but if you do thank u so much and i really appreciate it if you get the chance to subscribe to my channel or at least give it a chance i try so hard to make my videos good and worth watching for 8 years but still not good enough, also ive had a learnin disability since forever and sorry if i hadd mispelled some words here and there. it would mean so much if you please give my channel a chance though but lets just say i'm proud bisexual puerto rican ( latina) woman who is also on the autism spectrum and is a young mom with a daughter who has ADHD who is mixed of half black and half latina.
