How Countries Get Rich by Exporting Literally One Product
Ойын-сауық
From Bangladesh to Taiwan, dozens of countries have built strong economies off of exporting just a single product. Mapping this reveals why some countries fail, and others thrive - all while being specialised into a single industry.
We looked at the exports of all 195 countries to find which ones were the most interesting - and what we could learn from them.

Nice video, bringing up some perspectives and data that are rarely talked about on larger channels. Gotta be thankful KZread's algorithm has changed a bit in favour of small channels.
Fantastic. One of the better economic videos I have seen on KZread.
Overall, I enjoyed the video, but as someone who works in this industry, I have to be that guy. You are technically incorrect about R&D being the reason Taiwan were so successful in the chip industry. They indeed funded a lot of R&D, but they were successful mainly because they kept buying new equipment even during the 2008 Financial crisis and even as individual machines began to cost 100s of millions of dollars. For those who are interested, here are some other important reasons behind Taiwan's Dominance: Another important reason behind the success of TSMC and Samsung is that they operate as Foundaries that fabricate chips other companies design. This has two advantages: First, fabbing chips from many different companies gives engineers more data to find process optimizations, which can dramatically improve the efficiency of the fab. Second, Manufacturing chips requires an entirely different skill set from designing chips, and knowing a lot about one doesn't necessarily improve your knowledge of the other. Because Foundaries can exclusively focus on fabrication and ignore design and verification, they can get much better at fabrication than they would otherwise be able to.

Those are great points, we were going to include how complicated the Taiwan chip story is, but for the length of the video we decided against it. There are so many other great videos on TSMC and Taiwan's Chip industry that really go into depth on it. Thx for your comment!
Good video, good luck with your channel growth. Its inspiring to see! - A New Zealander.
Why is your channel still so small? Your content is completely new and the quality is almost on par with big economic channels like EE. Plz make videos continuously I'll share this with my friends and family too
This is the best video explaining comparative advantages amongst countries and why International Trades are important. Kudos to you!
