I noticed that all the foreigners completed the food. They said the food is good quality yet cheap in price.

We were in Japan in April with our 5 children ages 14-3 and we could easily eat for ¥6000 - ¥8000 for a mid level restaurant like Coco's or Kura-Zushi or Minato-an. This is so much cheaper for us than eating out in the US. In the US we pay a minimum of $100 to go out to eat and adding the tip on top of that is just crazy. We simply don't eat out anymore in the US.

I was in the US for 5 months recently. My wife and I had brunch at a decent restaurant (nothing special). A simple meal and coffee each cost us $80 with tip. I probably could have made a better meal myself for $8.

WA State recently. Split a breakfast: no drinks, two eggs benedict on two mini-waffles, small amount of potatoes, one medium sized cinnamon roll - US$32 with tax. Insane.

Good interviews - thanks. Could use more from settled "foreigners" who know the options. ¥65,000 is Euro405, so yes, the rent of his German example is approx. double, not 1.5X. Sounded like the ¥65K included additional fees as he quoted less initially. Get out of Tokyo and save approx. 50% on rent. Get out of Kanto and save at least 20%. Near Osaka-Kobe corridor, one of my 72 sqm. places with ocean view goes for ¥58,000/mo.

I feel for the younger generation in all western nations. There are no houses for the amount of people entering the country. The UK had nearly 1 million new residents in one year.
