How CHAINSAW CARBURETOR Works - Chainsaw Carburetor Explained!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Chainsaw Carburetor How it Works
This Fascinating Video Effortlessly Explains the Inside Workings of the Two-Stroke Carburetor for a GREAT UNDERSTANDING.
- So let's begin: The two-stroke carburetor is a little but complicated mechanical marvel that powers the chainsaw, an iconic equipment in the worlds of forestry, landscaping, and outdoor upkeep. This part, which serves as the engine's core, is in charge of supplying the ideal air-fuel ratio required to operate the chainsaw's two-stroke engine at high revs. In this investigation, we'll take a deep dive inside the two-stroke chainsaw carburetor's inner workings to discover how it actually functions.
1. Air Intake and Filter: The chainsaw's air intake system is where it all begins. An air filter is used to draw air in, keeping dust and other material out of the carburetor. For an engine to run properly, the air filter must be clear and clean.
2. Venturi Effect: The air flows through a vital part known as the venturi as it enters the carburetor. The airflow is accelerated by this narrowed area of the carburetor throat, which results in a low-pressure area. The fuel must be drawn into the airstream using this Venturi effect.
3. Fuel Reservoir: A fuel reservoir or float chamber inside the carburetor houses a supply of liquid fuel, often petrol. A system of needle and float valves controls the fuel level. The float valve opens when fuel is used up, letting in more fuel to keep the level balanced.
4. Fuel Atomization: A calibrated jet draws fuel from the reservoir through the low pressure produced by the Venturi effect. In order to ensure full mixing with the fast-moving air, this jet atomizes the fuel into small droplets. A homogeneous and flammable air-fuel mixture is the end result.
5. Adjustment Screws: The majority of carburetors have adjustment screws that can be used to fine-tune the air-fuel ratio. While the low-speed screw regulates the idle mixture, the high-speed screw modifies the mixture for full throttle operation. The performance of the engine must be optimised by these changes.
6. Reed Valve: A reed valve is positioned between the carburetor and the engine's crankcase in some chainsaw carburetors. The reed valve controls the flow of the air-fuel combination, ensuring that none of it runs back into the carburetor.
The well-mixed air-fuel combination is brought into the combustion chamber for combustion and ignition. Here, the spark plug ignites it, causing a strong explosion that powers the chainsaw's piston. The chainsaw's cutting chain is propelled by this mechanical process, which converts chemical energy into mechanical labour.
8. Exhaust System: The engine's exhaust gases leave the engine through an exhaust port after combustion, restarting the cycle as the piston completes its strokes.
An essential part of a two-stroke chainsaw that ensures the engine obtains the proper ratio of air and fuel for dependable and efficient performance is the carburetor. To obtain peak performance and avoid problems like fouled spark plugs, overheating, or excessive fuel consumption, the carburetor must be calibrated to produce the ideal mixture.
The two-stroke chainsaw carburetor is proof of the meticulous engineering needed to power these amazing equipment, to sum up. It is evidence of the fine coordination of airflow, fuel supply, and combustion that allows chainsaws to flourish in the hands of both professionals and homeowners. Understanding how a chainsaw functions can help you to better understand the magic that makes it so useful for a variety of outdoor jobs.
This principle works for most types of Chainsaw saws, and the following also helps with Chainsaw maintenance. So, whether you are using a Stihl Chainsaw, Husquvarna Chainsaw, basically, all types of Petrol Chainsaw are valid for this principle, as well as many types of or a 2 Stroke Engine. The Electric Chainsaw, of course, escapes this whole principle!

Thank you very much for all the great information. I now understand how it works, and I really appreciate the video. I had cleaned and rebuilt my chainsaw carburetor and while I was doing it, wondered how in the world it worked! I also appreciate your ability to be succinct, a quality in short supply in you tube land. regards, -Peter

Without a doubt, this is the best explanation of how these carbs work. Thank you very much! I fly R/C gas powered models and two of them use a Walbro carb and one uses a Chinese knockoff. The Walbros are great. The cheaper ones not as much. It is amazing how poorly they work when they have the slightest amount of contamination. Cheers!

I was reading Paul Dempsey's book on small engine repair, and quite frankly he lost me on the carb part. I watched your video and everything clicked. I will make sure to mention you in my Goodreads review, and how you're the perfect companion for the book.
