What does it mean to be “imitators of God”? Ephesians 5 not only ventures deep into this question but also demystifies the idea of living authentically, as opposed to putting on an act.

Instead, at your very core, you contain the light of Jesus, and now, God’s call is for you to walk as a child of the Light.

Discussion Questions for Ephesians 5:1-18:
1. What does it mean to be an “imitator of God”? How is this not faking it?
2. Read verses 2-4. What are the two motivations here for upright living?
3. Read verses 5-8 and react to this summary: “You’re no longer them, so don’t act like them.”
4. Read verses 9-10. What does “the fruit of the Light” mean? What is pleasing to the Lord?
5. React to this statement: Sin is disgraceful, unwise, and doesn’t make the most of your time.
6. Read verse 17. What is “the will of the Lord”? Can we know it?
7. Read verse 18. What does it mean to be “filled with the Spirit”? How does Ephesians 3:19 help us here?

Awhile back I had a dream and in this dream I heard a voice clear as day say to me My Word is my will, for months trying to figure out what this meant or was just a random coincidence, listening to your sermon today when I heard you say God’s will is Jesus, the light bulb in my head lit up the dream makes sense now John 1:1-2, 14 KJV And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

He is so right on about many things EXCEPT this one. The Grace message DOES include the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, I and the thousands I've personally led to receive this amazing gift AFTER salvation.

What you were leading people in was them learning to be filled with the spirit rather than being baptized by the spirit?

He is not saying anything wrong here, Jesus said in John 6:63 the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. It is not wrong to be filled with the word of God. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. You notice he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, we are told in Revelation 1:5 last half of the verse. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. We are saved and regenerated at the same time, and the renewing of the Holy Ghost, he is recreating us into the new man. Ephesians 4:24 And put you on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Water baptism is the washing of the flesh, when we do that, it is in obedience, but being washed in the blood is being baptized in in the Holy Ghost. Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins. Ephesians 1:13 In whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
