How can we be happy?
How can we think about our own happiness when the world is so troubled and people filled with negative emotion and anxiety about current events? I attempt to answer in this video. We are hardwiring happiness.
we talk about understanding the concept of nurturing your own mental health to keep you on the upward spiral of positivity. Positive emotions help us to broaden and build our thinking which puts in a much better position to think clearly about how we can help and support those in need.
From positive psychology I offer in this video practical strategies for embracing gratitude, hope and offer the GLAD technique to help boost your happiness.

HAPPY STUFF AND FLUFF
On this channel we talk about 'getting happy, living longer and growing younger - positive aging! Longevity is important to me and exciting things are happening in this field. In addition to living longer, health and well-being must be considered. Healthy eating habits are important and so is personal development or self improvement. It is in our nature as human beings to want to grow. Thanks to positive psychology we now know more than ever about what makes us happy and what does not. We know that happy people live longer, have better relationships and better health. As women over 50 we also want to look the best we can - aging gracefully means different things to different people. We cover all these things and more on this channel. Come and join the conversation and subscribe - we would love to meet you.

I feel the need to be fully engaged with all that is happening in our world, good or evil! To do otherwise is being an Ostrich. It doesn't prevent me being thankful for all that is good. I see many people who hide from reality and prefer not to hear of atrocities. It's not 'grown-up'! Without knowing of the pain and suffering of others, we cannot know what we need to do to help. We all inhabit the same world - for very many people it's a cruel place.

You touched on a lot of things I’ve been thinking about. Having awareness and empathy for whats going on in our world, but not obsessing. Also, focusing on what I am grateful for, and appreciating what achieved, however, small. I did indeed clean a closet today. I have found I’ve felt more positive since I started exercising again! Thanks for the Positivity Post❤️

Had never heard of GLAD before, only the gratitute stuff (which personally never worked rsrs).. and that phrase at the end was really pretty... very insightful, thank you :D

Hi @isissilveria1172 am smiling at your comment that the 'gratitude stuff never worked' (although of course I am sorry it hasn't worked for you) I don't suppose you are alone in that. The thing is to look at suggested interventions and just choose the ones that suit you - or try them and see. You have nothing to lose. In terms of the GLAD - persistence really is the key...so please give it a go. Thank you so much for your comment - I appreciate it.
