How can I have a deep insight? | J. Krishnamurti

Subtitles available in: ENGLISH, JAPANESE
Saanen, Switzerland 1983 - Question #1 from Question and Answer Meeting #1
'In order to have a deep insight, thinking must stop. For thinking to stop there must already be a deep insight. Where does one start?'
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

Our insight (enlightenment, intuition) is timeless, yet our realization of it occurs in time. To "stop the thought" is already a thought. Negation of "love is not" is still a thought, a negation is the reverse of affirmation, yet still expression of thoughts. Sometimes felt like drowning in this psychological depth of K's. Or climbing up a slippery snow-capped mountain top with numerous precipices. It's real hard for us 3-dimensional, time-space bounded beings to reach this pathless land NOW! Thanks for holding the flame nevertheless!

Who can listen to this today? Very few people......especially in America. Here, people love position/money and fun, fun, fun and are caught up in pop culture or in the "hip culture" with big ole' beards and fancy mustache's in a state of apathy to what a person like Krishnamurti brings up. Not that a "big ole' beard or fancy mustache" is wrong! ;) I think that that is what's going on.

Thanks for posting, we need more on KZread. His 6 decades talks are voluminous, like Buddha's. I used to drive the poor NY librarians crazy by digging out all K's transcripts from basement and remember each one is as thick as an encyclopedia and there were at least 40 of them. But that was 2 decades ago and I was younger and practically just gobbled them down. I wonder if you're going to transcript his talks before audio/visual were common into audio media, because there were stages of K's teachings that are only in written words? I would love to get drunk again in this cosmic elixir! Please?

To love to Existance. 存在是因為愛。 To fight then you won't be mechanical. 戰鬥的人不會變得機械。 Fight with your Life! 以生命作戰。 No place is safe except in movements. 在運行中才有安全。 Freedom gives you Love. Challenge means opportunity I don't think, I feel. Thinking means there is no self, totally meditation. Knowledge comes from the denying of the past, the history. Don't think about oneself, think about the world and universe. limitation means you limited yourself, but not the others. Only the others see it. The division ends when the self is end. What is to do is doing nothing but yourself. The fact comes only when the idea is not here. The idea comes when we are accept what you said, then there is division. But when we actually fight with you, then we totally understand what you are talking about. Insight means 循環。 The action comes from noplace brings creations. What's the main streets of yourself? 你生活的重點是甚麼? When thought comes to an end, there is creation. So what's the meaning of life? Doesn't it to end oneself and create Death? Conflict means confusion. 而戰鬥,類似於直指中心。 Thought means 延伸, but not creation. Complete action means no conflict. When there is no conflict, there is no fear at all. Love is there when the self is not. When there is no Love, there is thought. When the brain see the fact of the thought and self, there is no consequences at all. Then you will see the beauty of the brain. There has a fresh brain.

I understand perfectly. For example, there's this Facebook chat group. One member came on and started to read a posting about belief and then posted a quote by Nikos Kazantzakis because he thought it was attractive. Then he got interested in another member's photographs about how her baby is doing. I was interested in chatting about belief. If l had interfered and said he should talk about belief it instead of the baby it would have caused conflict. I can feel the memory of this and it makes me angry. Despite that we have the right to chat about or be interested in anything we choose and my own limited reaction or attitude, are most of us really interested in getting to grips with JK's message even though this member does have an interest?

Do not make it so complicated Sir. When one realizes that all actions in the psychological realm are based on past and there can never be anything new psychologically, one starts hesitating to deal with such issues through past memories, prejudices, experiences, and so on. This hesitation in itself is a great transformation. Isn't this an insight ?

I still don't quite get it. The moment he put love on the table of reasoning, he named it as non-thought, non-this and non-that. This is the moment I didn't get at all, which has ruined the whole hour of discussion about the divisiveness of our nature. Why love is not a thought or something else which is also limited? Why do we always strive to give a sharp answer that there IS something out of that limitation/division/dualism? I don't get how anything being comprehended by our brain can be out of its limitations. For me, this is the point where K's rationalism breaks. Change my mind, show me the truth if I am wrong. Explain the love to me after all.
