It's literally only 95gb! 😂 Some people are so dumb thinking that a single game is 310gb. It's 310gb for 3 game (mwil, mwill, and bo6), warzone, and dmz (20 gb because it's pretty much just the entirety of warzone 2 (movement, maps, etc.) compressed into 1 game mode). You just need to delete what you won't play and it'll be like 100-150 or something.

Also they force you to use that bullshit cod hub and it has a shit ton of assets from all the games since MW. Nearly every COD that’s been added has added about 50 gb. Cold War was about 120 gb. All you do is download a small packet that lets you play the game.

I don't disagree with the sentiment. But I think the more likely and simpler answer is they are cutting costs by not prioritizing optimization. 1. The new gen graphics and textures are for a fact demanding. 2. They can save money by not creating a team that can look for ways to optimize and save space. Which they would then have to pay. (And they would likely be paying overtime as they would likely just reuse members from other departments. Especially since optimization has to happen alongside development in order to ensure the game code works and that the optimization doesn't break the game.) The reason stated by the original poster is more likely to be an after thought. The primary motivating reason is probably just to save time and money by cutting the cost of optimization. In the grand scheme of the development cycle, it might not sound like cutting costs for an optimization team would save a lot of money. You know, compared to the total cost. But it definitely saves a notable amount of money that could end up in a few individual pockets. Or end up in one individual's pocket

They're basically just images, and if they use different textures for every object, and those objects need to be very high resolution to look sharp at very close distances with stuff like 4k or even 8k monitors, then they're going to be huge files.

From what I've heard, it thankfully won't be 310 gigabytes. That size right there shows the combined size of MWII and MWIII as well as Warzone. Im pretty sure BO6 will be able to be downloaded separately.

Dont know if you played warzone back in the day, but if you did, remember how weird and shitty it felt once not only cold war, but vanguard came out? Playing multiplayer then pressing warzone, and it had to launch the mw2019 app for warzone, took time to load up, and then eventually there was 2 vanguard apps, one was warzone the other was multiplayer, same shit. Now you can play multiplayer, the guys hop on warzone invite you, and you join in a matter of seconds. Its so much more clean, both visually and usability

Activision has clarified that the 300+ GB file size would include full installations of Black Ops 6, MW2, MW3, Warzone, Zombies, with all content packs and localized languages combined.(so it's technically not 310gb it’s a additional 75gb)
