    So is the balance shaft issue a common problem? I have an Octavia VRS with the KO3 turbo engine with 112,000 miles and I'm a bit concerned!!

    @@iantaylor620 it’s not common if the car is well maintained. But well worth doing if buying a used TFSI where you don’t know the history too well

    @@TRHamza it does have a great service history but I'm not sure what's caused it to seize on your S3. Great content by the way love the channel, and thank you for the reply.

    @@iantaylor620 They wear down and usually first drops the oil pressure. When they are grinded enough they just seize up but I think that is very rare. Usually its just oil pressure problem and you have to change the whole assembly. VIS freewheel is supposed to fix that problem preventively.

    Fascinating video. Obviously it's sad that the S3 engine ate itself, but thank you for posting the video of the strip down, it's absolutely riveting seeing each stage of the disassembly and seeing what went wrong. It's like an investigation.

    First absolutely munted a m5 clutch and then detonated a s3 motor! Hamz doing it in style 🤣 loving the vids mate! Been an every episode watcher since before the grey mk5 and you never stop entering! Cant wait for the next one!

    Great to see R-Tech back on the channel, love their work. Can't wait to see where you take this. Thank god I installed the VIS balance shaft delete on my car, adds quite a bit more vibration, but I'm happy to live with it considering what's happened to yours💥💨

    So glad I got R-Tech to do a VIS balance shaft delete cog on my Mk5 GTi. Glad you've got another engine sorted for the S3. Liking the TFSI content on the chanel again. 👌👍

    Hamza just buy that whole S3 and use the bodyparts from yours to make it nice again, in the end of the day you have an original 83K mile S3 which is probably tidier underneath too

    Same happened to my mates mk5 GTi; oil pump sprocket bolt sheared, chain snapped, engine rebuild £2500

    Balance shaft deletes are a must on these engines, a cheap preventative measure.

    I have the same engine and am thinking about installing a VIS freewheel, but doesn’t disabling the balance shafts introduce more vibrations?

    @@Max34557 i never experienced any vibrations on 2 cars i had this done to however some people do get them, mainly due to old engine mounts, if you did get vibrations new engine mounts would reduce what you would feel.

    I remember buying an 06 Golf GTI and it blew up (oil pump failure + blocked syphon) within half an hour of buying it 😂🤷‍♂️ I just stuck with subaru after that, rather break down in a WRX 🤷‍♂️

    First 2 steps if you buy TFSI EA 113! Install 2.0L TFSI EA113 roller tappet conversion kit for high pressure pump! And install a vis motorsport balance shaft delete!

    Ayy this shape of the S3 you could get without out the S3 bage, you just buy high speced a3 2.0l T with a manual. Lots of surport from South Africa 🔥💥👌💪

    Isn't BWA 2.0 A3/TT? BHZ is the S3 motor old gen and CDL facelift same as tts afaik

    Nik is an absolute master with the 1.8t, tsfi , I had a very bad experience with a anther tuner who pretty much wrecked my golf and he found the issue in about 30 min and didn't even want any money from me , just asked me to get the map removed and to get him to tune it instead.. and he was cheaper. Don't live in UK anymore but if I did and had one of these engine I wouldn't take it anywhere else

    If you need a engine, I’ve got a forged CDL there, only done 4k miles since rebuild, balance shaft delete sprocket installed, wossner pistons, pec rods etc etc 👍

    In the last video didn't you say while you did the pick up you should have done the balance shaft delete dude....... Either way sounds like it was going to be one thing after another with the motor dude. That breaking s3 may be a good idea to get some of the less crusty bits to replace the really crusty bits on yours hamza. Big respect to nikki Ben and the boys they are the dons in the 113 world. 🤙

    Why does it need the balance shaft in the first place other than to balance the engine if you say it isn’t needed?

    If the engine can be used as in if the engine block is not destroyed an engine stroker kit would be beneficial

    well i am no expert but as far as i know balance shaft oil pump (there are delete kits) cam follower (replace it for a new one) and chain tensioner replace it for a new one) and maybe there is more but i don't know
