    it's simple MQB platform happened thats why, on a golf 7R with the ea888 gen 3 engine you do a stage 2 and you have 410bhp with 550+ nm on stock block and stock turbo, and the chassis is more balanced on the MQB than on the s3 8p or golf 6 R,which weigh around 1550+kg and a haldex gen 2 system, to get past 500nm on these ea113 engines you need forged conrods as a minimum to get 380+bhp you need a hybrid turbo, still for the price of the s3 8p's if you want 350ish bhp without breaking the bank you can't go wrong, just exhaust high pressure fuel pump, intake and IC maybe upgraded cluch(dsg remap if its a dsg)and a remap and your there, just don't expect you will be beating a stock f80 m3 with it.👍

    Owned a 1.8T 8L for over a decade and loved it; I was in no doubt that when the time came to replace it, I was going to get an S3. Bought my 2012 8P in 2019. I was however way too specific in what I wanted to find one that was less than £10K (Grey, full leather interior (black), face lifted, full service history and totally unmolested). Then I got it in to my head that I wanted one that had no more than 50K miles (or less!) on it so that bumped the budget to £12K... After a year of hunting I finally found one at a car sales located less than an hour from where I live; it had all of 23500 miles on it, a single owner and a want for nothing Audi service history. Ultimately I paid over the odds to get it (£14K! - Probably the most expensive one in the South of England at the time) but after finally meeting it coupled with an inflated sense of want, there really was no way I was going to walk away without putting my deposit down. Look at the price of them now though! I love it! It fits me like a glove. I'll probably be its last owner.

    Any issues? How's maintenance costs been

  • @Stu047

    @Stu047

    9 ай бұрын

    @@wakaflockaproject I'd say nothing otherworldly issuewise. Over the last 4 years I've put about 20K miles on it and I'd estimate that she's cost me about a grand a year to satisfy the service and maintenance needs (I take it to Audi though...); milestone items have included the S-tronic gearbox service (£250), Haldex oil service (£80), cambelt and waterpump (£725). A round of tyres cost around £400. I've just had my second rear coil spring replaced (£340); I had the other one replaced two years ago. I think this is a thing with 8P models; the coil springs give in to corrosion. I did have a significant eyeroll moment with the tilt-slide mechanism for the driver's seat, which has failed; I suspect that this was down to the prior owner being too rough with it and therefore busted the thing. All I actually need is the rail that mounts the seat to the floor of the cockpit however Audi can't obtain that part on it's own; they told me they would have to order in the entire assembly that includes the seat (not the backrest), the frame, the guiderails, the associated mechanisms... The best part of £1000! - Yeah as a single guy, I'm living with it. I do have plans for it on the horizon but it's all consmetic. I need some scratches sorted out (one of them pretty deep) and a paint correction; I think I'm looking at the best part of £2K... but then hobbies cost money don't they!
