My updated Smolder thoughts: - Champion is OP, no doubt about it, way too easy to get to 225 stacks and become super OP. He's way too tanky for an ADC with range & mobility, reminds me of Zeri with Trinity Force & Hydra - He's better solo lane than ADC, simply because on botlane, it's easier to get lane bullied/frozen on/dove than any other lane. He's a weak laner and a standard bot combo will make Smolder stack way later - In current state, I would no doubt first pick him in Pro Play and triple flex him - A lot of reasons why he is not performing well in soloq is people going wrong builds, runes and are playing him inefficiently with stacking and trading - Trinity Force always better than Essence Reaver. Shojin second NO MATTER WHAT. Liandry good if you lack AP damage else you buy Navori. Buying Defensive items after 2 or 3 damage items VERY GOOD. Rapidfire lategame decent. - ALWAYS FLEET, NEVER COMET. Reasoning: Fleet has too good synergy and the rune has too much value, the precision tree also better since you can easily play sorcery tree in secondary. Comet might feel good in early game but the rune will drop off way too quick - Straight up Q max in most matchups because you want Q CD lower, so you stack more. Putting 3 points in W is not very necessary, especially on sololane. ALWAYS E MAX SECOND for CD Enjoy your ELO.

Not sure why he doesn't call his followers Nemesons. Very appropriate for someone like Nemedaddy.

I think a big problem with smolder bot is that supports will often take cs for their support item which also makes it a lot harder to stack

That's why you play Smolder bot with ap/poke mages who get their sup item stacks off hitting enemy champions. Smolder + Comet Lux/Xerath/Velkoz/Brand + Comet Absolutely OP as hell laning phase.

You can get it from both, but if you poke enough you won't need to get any from minions. I think if you are playing a poke sup the only creep you should be taking is siege minion, to secure the gold 100%, rest of your sup item should come from poke. @@SalmanAli-hn2kt

Triforce feels way better first item. Just buy sheen and ionion boots for cdr. Shojin as first item has 0 damage compared to triforce.

How do you get 10 stacks/min on smolder?

I presume you don't play a lot of top lane, but what lane do you think he is the best in? I could see a lot of mid lane matchups being pretty rough for him, at least in the top lane you usually have the range advantage.

I’ll miss goredrinker but yeah think the item changes have overall been positive. Small amounts of Omnivamp feel nice in junglers who lack sustain in their kits and there’s no real option for vamp outside of ravenous hydra which kinda sucks on most juglers, mostly because it gives life steal and no longer applies on abilities (which granted is fair, wave clear was probably annoying to deal with in lane).

How's Manamune on him? I expected the item to be core part of his build but as times progress the item's pickrate has dropped on him. Also, would you approve of Eclipse Smolder as a defensive item?

Every time I see Smolder I miss Cassio passive stacking more and more.

ive been playing a lot of smolder recently (thankyou for the help) thoughts on going barrier/ghost/cleanse in place of tp? i feel like barrier is good synergy with your ult against assasins etc

@@TheBanana202 i was grandmaster 500 lp last season (doesnt mean that im good but yeah) and i feel like smolder really doesnt need tp that often, he has insane waveclear and comes back to lane fast with e, but then im not actually high elo (chall etc) so it probably is different there, i feel like ghost/barrier are really good on him but it is true that teleport is always good and usefull against good players

@@karthus9609 I think neme answered before on stream that ghost has great synergy with smolder but TP is needed to stabilize laning phase or something similar. Statistically it has the same winrate though as TP, so it should definitely be viable. I think nemesis generally just loves TP and is also extremely good at using it optimally.

Smolder is so fun and insanely strong honestly, also feel like enemies don't really monitor his stacks so first fight once you get 225 stacks is usually insta win as people don't realise your spike.

I never had so much fun with a new champion before, i have been playing Smolder in URF after getting so fucking bored of Ranked (just got decayed back to D1 because i played so much URF i forgot to play ranked lol) and having the best time i've ever had in this game. I really like playing Ezreal so i tried Smolder since they're both Casters ADC, and discovered a new hobby lol. Just played against a Malzahar and i got 225 stacks in 10 mins because of his voidlings lmao, it's omega fun

Day I have no idea since when smolder released I'm waiting for people to use hail of blades on smolder

Is Trinity really the best choice compared to ER? Trinity costs a lot of gold, like 500 more gold than ER from what I remember, and that really makes you get your damage much slower.

Full tank Smolder is being slept on, imagine mundo lvl of beef but with perma elder dragon once you get 225 stacks. Shit is so fucking overpowered its nuts

i think the reason somlder has higher win rate bot is because of early level W spam which is more effective bot since you have two people you can hit and if you hit both it does a ton of damage, that means smolder bot has a great laning phase but you get less stacks, smolder mid, however, has a average laning phase but scales a lot faster and since winning lane is a big thing in solo queue it inflates his bot winrate

Ok I'll admit this champ isn't "dogsht" but i do think he's not broken.

that is insanely quick stacking. the typical smolders i see dont stack before 25-30min.

fr, low elo people cant get 10 cs/min and perma trade without dying. The champ is for sure op but i think low diamond and below its just a coinflip to have it on your team unless you get a free stacking matchup

The problem I have with playing smolder mid it's either my own team bans him when I pre-pick him with words "you're not playing this dogshit champ" or going through pick phase and saying "oh great another smolder" and trolling the game, flashing on spot, taking minions, intentionally feeding etc

I don't know man Trinity doesn't feel like you deal damage with it . I felt the same when playing Ezreal with old Trinity building essence reaver felt better in terms of damage . Even look at some of your q's look like they deal less damage than essence reaver. but sure the hp is good but if you don't get hit you don't need it right🗿

Why nobody builds hydra and muramana? Hydra 1st gives potential to kill whole weave with w q. Gives spellwamp, cdr and a lot of team fight dmg. Single tear removes mana problems, while upgraded tear gives biggest dmg amp possible (Yes i know smolder wants to get trinity/spear to become useful asap but you still won't be champion until 20 min...)

in botlane you can get punished soo easy on smolder, I mean I dont play that champ I only know playing against it and every time I did I was carrying the game, so I dont think he's a good adc pick but on midlane Ive seen him popping off quite often, that hurts a lot xD

Thank god I don't need to unmute people like pike "for content". Smolder is insane you just have to stack. It was funny how they kept sending stacks to your lane. Even when you died you got a wave or two worth of stacks on those ganks.

I definitely think that smolder is better mid than in adc. Like bruv he doesn't play like an adc and he deals magic damage. Like his q auto combo is kinda clunky. He's also one of the few mages that doesn't have hard cc

People think this champ is weak because everyone is in bronze and thinks chanpions are on a 1:1 power scale at every point of the game.

I mean being able to survive and CS almost perfectly (and thus stack) despite a terrible early game is why Neme finds the champ easy lmao. The whole reason ppl were going W poke first was because they couldn't survive the early meta champs otherwise. Pekin is a consistently Chall and he can't lane + CS like that, not many can.

I just Malph Ult him and nuke him to oblivion. He is so ffin weak early to mid game cant pressure the lane get prio on drake and such. In my last games everytime Smolder gets picked that team loses.

LoL has just been getting progressively worse over time, the removal of mythics is nice, but they've mentioned the addition of riot vanguard (chinese spyware that has kernel access to your pc and all files regardless of if they're related to league of legends or not) i've played 2 arams and it just wasn't worth it, this game isn't worth being spied on by china and giving them complete access to your PC and everything that's ever going to be on it, also last thing VANGUARD CANNOT BE FULLY UNINSTALLED, IT WILL KEEP ITSELF ROOTED INTO YOUR PC EVEN AFTER UNINSTALL, do not install this chinese spyware, it's insanely dangerous.
