This is an awesome video. Thank you Dr. Tabor for sharing this. This makes me want to re-watch World of Antiquity's video on ancient Near Eastern astrology. The SHWEP also has some episodes on subjects similar to this.

This subject was always blasphemous around my deaf/blind religious compatriots. I'm glad I'm not crazy. You continue to fascinate me, James!

Those religious compatriots are crazy. I once told men in a group of evangelist that I could no longer attend as they were singing Jesus is our god and also that I was adamant that the trinity is man made. I was branded a branch of the devil and I heard the minister telling a decon that they were being tested 😂 😂 😂

They must have never read the first page of the Bible where in Genesis 1 it tells us the Sun, Moon and Stars are for signs, seasons, days and years.

Love your channel! ( Did my M.Div at UTS, have been a student of astrology and metaphysics, the arcane, etc. in general since I was a kid, and all of that was a huge advantage in studying ancient religion and much biblical symbolism, specifically... When I lived in Jerusalem someone told me that Matzal Tov derives from 'Good Stars' or Fortunate Stars' The one piece of astrological art I have in the house is a print of a mosaic zodiac from an ancient synagogue in Jerusalem...)

Absolutely amazing, informative, and shows the formation of Christianity and post second temple Jewish ideology was never developed in a vacuum. Here we can clearly see the level of influence in these religions from astrological science. Gotta watch this one on repeat. It is interesting to think about how predictions of the future based on astrological events become a self fulfilling prophecy for those who are in that future and act according to these signs. Mind-blowing 🤯

Deep but fascinating; a lot of material to cover. I am definitely interested in ordering his book so that I can take my time to absorb his message. thank you, Dr. Tabor, for presenting this video.

All "Christian" scholars need to stop what they are doing and dive into this for the sake of exploring faith from a dual perspective. A potential "King" and his teachings combined with his second life, in the stars. Amazing.

Great lecture! Well suited for Astrology associations as well.

The meditative experience is also key. I had no idea, searched for the truth and had one full week of visions and a voice. One full week of personal experience; a secret between myself and truth, you might call it.

Very interesting presentation! I need to watch it a few times to understand. I've long been interested in amateur astronomy and it's hard for me to grasp astrology because it involves what invisible planets and constellations are up during daylight hours. If I can't see something, I'm not generally interested in it. Time to broaden my horizons.

Sooo happy to see someone covering this! Because THIS month was so special to them! I would disagree, however, that it's about astrology ... it's about ASTRONOMY. So if you want to find the Sign of Jonas, for example, look between Cetus and Pegasus toward the end of this month. The three days in the belly of the Whale is the passage of the Moon. They thought we would be in for a pole shift. Now that Aries has traversed Pisces, it is time for the poles to hit the equator.

Sounds like you know what you're talking about. Can you tell me why Jonah was given this sign originally in the old testament, or what it is supposed to mean astronomically. I mean how often does the moon pass through this constellation? Why is it important?

@@robsellars9338 If it hadn't been for Jonah, we would have only the mysterious comment of Jesus with zero context. As it is, we can sort of figure out when Jonah made it to the gate. If we assume a big sign in Cetus and that he went to Nineveh around 745 BC in the time of Tiglath-Pileser III, that could take us to 20-23 Feb -746J (12-15 Feb 746 BC). However, it is not the simple fact of a conjunction in Cetus that is the big deal. It's a conjunction in Cetus with Jupiter and Venus lined up, more or less, with visiting space objects known as the Dragon and the Lion (or many other names). The Magi (and priests) tracked the signs until they no longer knew how. But he gives us another hint. In Jonah 3:1, he says he saw the Word for the second time. That's a Phoenix event. A Jupiter-Sun in Aquarius. Not super common. For example, I see one 20 Jan -754J (12 Jan 753 BC). So the Cetus event (with Jupiter and Venus in tow) that got him thinking UH OH was probably the one of 9-12 Mar 753J (1-4 Mar 752 BC). And we start looking for two occurences of the Word -- the Yod (Jupiter) at the Hey (Aquarius) with the Sun. So I see his Second Word on 26 Jan -742J (18 Jan 741 BC). It took him three days to get to Nineveh after the 2nd Word. And there's another special Cetus event coming the next year! 26 Feb -741J (18-21 Feb 740 BC). Long story short, the people of Nineveh tracked many of the same signs as the Jewish priests. And they all resolved to don sackcloth, sit in ashes and repent. So guess what! We, the moderns, saw the Word 27-28 Feb 2010. We saw the 2nd Word 5 Mar 2022. And we have a special Cetus event coming later this month ... in a time of the presence of the visitors. In the 13th Year of the Dragon and what will be the 8th Year of the Lion. So, aside from the Asbury Revival in Kentucky, have you seen ANY indication this great nation is about to repent??? Because there is no time. (Maybe 36 days to Easter!)

i was raised in a christian home and always loved astrology since i was 12, im now 47 and never stopped to study religion and stars combined, it is really fascinating never ceased to impress me !

The more I learn, the more I realize I have a lot to learn to have any comprehension of these biblical texts. Especially raised as an evangelical, it’s like - everything was so wrong that now that I’m learning from academic sources, my mind is blown. It’s hearing all this material and explanations that I’ve never heard before. Also, there’s really no way around it is there? you need to learn the language of the texts, and then know the references the material is making. So much to learn just to have a decent grasp on the texts. This is going to take awhile lol

@Drew Jones No sir that is incorrect. Astronomy in origin was focused on the mazzaroth from ancient times through the descendants of Ibir (Eber). Astrology is a corrupted pseudoscience that was given to man from fallen entities via Mount Hermon. Oh man - not just astrology but numerology. So of course - Jesus is the “Fisher King” because he comes in the age of Pisces. The age of Pisces started around the birth of Jesus. Now - of course- the 12 tribes / 12 apostles symbolize the zodiac signs. So the 12 represent the tribes - but, let us say - 144 or 144000 would symbolize larger humanity- the 12 multiplied. In Mark - Jesus multiples the 5 loads of bread - symbol of the Torah. Jesus is teaching the crowd of a new, miraculous, living Torah. The black box the Jews wear on their foreheads- symbol of Saturn. Square and black and both symbols of Saturn. So far - so on …. Examples are endless …. Interestingly- the age AWTER Pisces is Aquarius- and the sign is symbolized by a human being. As Pisces is the sign of compassion and suffering - Aquarius is the sign of communication: groups of people coming together, growth of technological advances. Who knows - maybe the saying “the Son of Man coming on the white cloud” - is the prophecy of humanity, in the sign of Aquarius - getting to see itself by the means of the internet “cloud” lol Thus, the prophet HAS BEEN FULFILLED (or will be after the singularity kicks in). Oh, by the way - the sign of Aquarius is opposite to the sign of Leo. That is why the Messiah comes “as a man from the tribe of Leo/Juda”. Also - the Pisces are directly opposite to Virgo - that is why the first, suffering Messiah is “born of the Virgin.”

Just watched this all& took notes. Finished like "Damn. Awesome" Only thing i found confusing - this presentation recognizes the clear allegory & astrotheology of the bible and other books and yet talks about nazareth and Jesus the Christ as if they were literally real historically.

I am picking up what he is putting down but why isn't this mentioned more in literary sources? It's as if it is a big secret to hide. I feel the same hesitance to accept ideas about ethneogens for the same reason.

It's very frustrating to not be able to see the images to which he is referring.

Absolutely riveting. No complaints here; I can see the connections you so plainly point out. For those who can't; either the material is too dense for you, or you are too dense for the material.

Very interesting but hard to hear

I don’t understand a lot of the terms used as I am not educated in astrology or the use of it in the gnostic viewpoint. However, I did awaken to the main fact of how important astrology was to the ancient people and how darn smart they were in following the planets and stars. It appears they were actually able to predict and make sense of it all. I wish I could have heard more about Pantera . My ears perked up when I heard that name as I remember Dr. Tabor talking about the Jewish and Greek writings that Named the Roman soldier Pantera as the fatter of Jesus. I looked up this claim in Wikipedia and interestingly they denied this theory and claimed it was Jewish satire. I wonder why as I have never read any other opinions about other topics in the Old Testament that were explained away like this. I find this “highly compelling !”

I'd love a detailed walkthrough of the astrological significance of Jonah and its symbols in early Christianity. The astrological connection is fascinating but pretty opaque. Is there any connection to the "third heaven" mentioned by Paul? Is that astrological, too, maybe Venus?

The Constellations, or Signs, are not the same as a second or third Heaven. These lay outside our Cosmos. What we call Heaven is translated from a plural Hebrew word. Heaven is always read as plural.

More likely emanationist than astrological. There’s lots of “gnostic” like concepts in Paul, so an emanation understanding wouldn’t be surprising.

Listening to this video if the dating of April 17, 6BCE is accurate, it reveals that the sliver moon is not the new moon, the FULLMOON is the real new moon and it starts the month. I don't know if somebody who watched this video realized the same.

What video link I didn't see it BUT in the Jewish Exodus book God tells Moses to reboot the Jewish calendar just as they leave Exodus and he tells him to celebrate this day as full moon 15th of the month Passover date.

Greetings, Intrigued at your comment. Will you please share your opinion, because I'm still trying to define/understand this issue. History, culture, theology, DNA (?) Who and when (?) defined the ancient Hebrew, and also Israelites/Jews? I've always been told Israelites were all 12 Tribes of Jacob (but not DINAH), but that Jews were strictly from the Tribe of Judah only. Thanks for any TORAH clarity :)

@@kaygibbs8639 Read a few comments around here, the easiest way is to realize what the so called 12 tribes meant, they're the signs of the zodiac. 12 apostles, 12 tribes, 12 signs of the zodiac, that should clear the muddy waters when trying to research that.

James, you need to help your friend to improve his presentations. Graphics are terrible and sound is in and out. Very difficult to follow.

Agree but lot of data, He written a book, the best thing is to buy his books and study them, this also will help him! There is too much data to make a simple presentation. Only the Nazarene temple mosaic presentation would take days of explanations, and James Tabor was no wrong to go digging in that field. More i'm going to link this video to Astrophysicists Friends , so much to dig! We are only a the beginning of a bigger bigger puzzle we have now a lot of the pieces begining to meet together!... So this is a good start however the technical communication will have to be developped by anyone doing his and her homework. We have in hand the subject, now.🙏💚🧡😎🤗👍

Immersion is also required in order for one to become a member of the New Testament church. THE CHURCH MUST WARE HIS NAME 18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it to you? The day of the LORD is darkness, and not light. (AMOS 5:18)

Matthew nore Luke specify a day of Yeshua’s birth. Those dates are speculation from scholars.

Time span from 6 BCE to 6 CE is eleven years; because there is no year-zero.

It's a lunar time span called a tritos. The Jews measured time using lunar cycles (there are many). BUT if they actually meant to convey a 12 year gap this would indicate something different.

Is the goal of this talk to make me a mythicist? Jesus fits so perfectly into what astrologists expected, just as if the authors made it fit. So - if there was a man - we know even less about him. Even the crucifiction...

None of the bible persons are real or lived. It's all astrology and archtypes. The so called CRUCIFICATION is the "Sun" being crucified annually, dying and coming back to life. During the Winter Solstice, on 22nd december to the 25th, the sun is at its weakest/lowest point, nights are longer during the winter but during winter solstice the sun "dies" for 3 days at the horizon or so it appears, fitting with the jesus myth, it's actually moving a few degrees south which make it appear still "dead". Then on the 25th, it starts raising again,(fitting with the celebrated christmas birth on the 25h) comes back to life, days get longer, more warmth comes. Each year it so happens. You can see how christians repeat the same rituals annually following the SUN in essence. To summarize it, the story of jesus is the allegorical story of the sun going through the zodiac signs annually. To further give you an example, "Judas" betrays Jesus with a kiss. You see, the SUN enters scorpio, the scorion's tail bite leaves a KISS MARK like, thus Jesus is betrayed, poisoned by "judas", once that happens it's all downfall. The sun starts "going down more and more", Jesus then gets crucified and killed off by a roman soldier using a SPEAR in the end, the sun enters Sagittarius. It's all astrology. During easter, he's called the lamb of GOD, because the SUN IS IN ARIES, people eat lamb, again, those are things that weren't "invented" by christianity,

It's a little thing, but why does he use the Latin pronunciation of "VEER go" and then call Libra "LY bra" rather than "LEE bra"? It's actually very interesting material, but hearing "LY bra" is like driving over a speed bump....

A fascinating topic. However like many who study 'astrotheology' it is just an endless stream of linkages of patterns & symbols & myths without support....and thus of dubious scholarly value. The artifacts presented are real and valuable archeological data. However, 25 minutes into the talk, I did not hear a single citation from an ancient source to support the notion that ancient people interpreted these symbols the way he interprets them.

People have always used the sky lights and always knew/thought that they affect our lives. They are given many personalities and what not, a lot of ancient statues, myths etc just re-tell the stories of the sky lights as interpreted by humans. When Mythra slays the bull, it has a crab bust on his private parts, that's obviously astrology, sky events put in stone. What that represented was the age of taurus ENDING, thus Mythra was slaying the bull. From the so called year 0, the time of jesus, we've been in the age of PISCES and now we're entering the age of Aquarius. Scholary or not, those are things that were known back then because astrology in essence is a language, you can hide it in plain site. There's a lot of symbology in chrstianity that has to do with 2 fish (pisces). Regarding mythra and the bull, there's a lot of that in the old testament too, where jews were worshipping a bull made of gold/golden calf? and so came a time where moses destroyed the bull? Kinda like mythra no? Age of taurus ending. Ps : none of the bible people are real or lived, it's just stories and allegories portraying the sky.

Astrology (our lives are pre-determined and affected by the stars) - NO; Mazzaroth (aka zodiac or 12 signs and 36 related constellations) - YES. Job 38:32, 2 Kings 23:5, incorporating also other references to planets, stars, sun, and moon. These are very different concepts. One is forbidden by God, the other created by God to discern them as a sign of the times. Magi were not astrologers, but a priestly caste in the region of Babylon who understood the mazzaroth, pr how to discern the sign of the times. They didd not follow a star in the sky, but recognized by this astronomical event that the prophecies were being fulfilled, and it was time (finally after multiple generations) to deliver the items that Daniel had given their caste to deliver to this King of kings in the exact place foretold, Beit Lechem (or house of Bread). Be careful of such false references bc most people do not research sufficiently, and will just start check their horoscopes and following astrology instead of their Bible.

Scott: you are ABSOLUTELY right brother... This guy is trying to blur the lines between astrology and astronomy in association with the inspired scripture of YAHUAH. And this is the reason people should study to show themselves approved and not hang on the words of mere men. But this is indeed the scholarly agenda in modernity. Unfortunate.

Book of Rev is full of astrology and you won’t ever understand that book until you see that. You can’t use modern zodiac however and must use constellations instead. It’s probably the only way you can identify Jesus at his return unless you’re so gullible you believe ‘clouds’ is literal. One major sign was astronomy in Rev 12 that occurred on 9/23/2017 describing the woman giving birth. Astronomy told the story of a comet going from Leo into Virgo’s womb, followed by Jupiter entering the womb just after that. Jupiter remained in the womb for just over 9 months going retro. Now notice the guy on the white horse given a bow and a crown. The crown is a string of planets just like the woman had only the sun had to be in Leo and moon in Aries. The bow is picturing the planets in the day sky with moon on the western horizon and Saturn on the east forming a bow. That particular alignment tells the story of the suffering servant and any astrologer will recognize the language no matter whether they use zodiacs or constellations. That’s how he’s both a lion and a slain lamb. In astrology terms, the moon is in the hardest position possible using only the 7 original planets. And that’s exactly what you should expect that astronomy would also tell his story along with Isa 53

Predictive astrology

I suspect that there may well be astrological connections to the early Christian literature, but this is such an awkward, disjointed and confused presentation that it wouldn't convince me of anything!

Among Jesus’ parables is one about those who are able to understand him and those who can’t and never will. The meaning of which is, to receive it (the meaning that is) you must believe it; as in if you the ears to hear it you will hear it. Nonbelievers will never believe without the ‘ears’ to hear it. This is elemental psychology and explains so called cognitive dissonance. Christianity produces cognitive dissonance in the majority of people.

Jesus = the sun, Lucifer = Venus The story of Jesus is the same as the Baal cycle and the ancient Egyptian trinity Osirus, Horus, and Isis. It's just the annual cycle, the sun moving from summer to winter and back again. The only object in the entire universe from our perspective that appears to die and rise again after three days is the sun after the winter solstice, born again in Virgo the virgin.
