what are you saying?? Do you know how it all started? You probably forgot that it was quiet, there was even Jewish tourism in Gaza, there were workers from Gaza making a living in Israel, there was a thriving economy (all this under military rule, which by the way was an ambition to return Gaza to the Egyptians in the peace agreement but the Egyptians did not agree to take it back. I wonder why..) And all this prosperity continued until the citizens of Gaza decided that they were starting a violent intifada in 1987. The autonomy agreement proposed by Israel Prime Minister Menachem Begin, was opposed by Yasser Arafat . In this agreement, the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank were supposed to receive autonomy. Why did Yaser Arafat opposed this agreement? For the same reason that the Arabs did not accept the UN resolution that was - two states for two peoples, already in 1947. They are not ready to accept a Jewish state next to them. They want the entire territory for a Palestinian state. That is why this conflict will not end. And after the Oslo Accords that it was another attempt to give Gaza and west bank independence, the suicide bombings began. Terrorists would board buses and explode. Dozens of Israelis were killed in each such attack. Of course, among them children. In 2005, Israel decided in a hard and bold step to "divorce" from Gaza without an agreement (because it is impossible to reach an agreement with them) . Israel evacyated all juwish vilages that were in Gaza, and since then they (Gaza) have compleet Independence. what they chose to do with their independence? what they decided to do with the large amount of money they received ? Instead of establishing a developed state they took all the money for teror/ did not establish any state. only hanger and hate. they try at every opportunity to break into Israel and murder. Until they succeeded on 7/10 in murdering on an unbelievable scale and with unbelievable horrors that they did. It is the dumbest thing in the world to come and start such an investigation when for a month in 2018 The entire Israeli army is preventing these violent people from entering the territory of the Land of Israel. The entire land was burning from the fires of the fire kites they sent to drum up the territory of Israel. Crowds - thousands, on the fences with the aim of breaking through and entering the Jewish villages. As they really did on 10/7. So, with all due respect to that nurse who was accidentally shot, you cannot expect sterility when you are dealing with murderers on an absurd scale whose entire goal is to destroy the State of Israel. And so even now - the IDF is making great efforts to avoid killing civilians as much as possible. the hamas is building his own places inside and under hospitels and schools because they know that Israel army not boming there. By the way, these are the testimonies of the terrorists themselves who were caught on October 7. They were asked why the headquarters of Hamas are in hospitals and schools and they said clearly, because they know that Israel does not bomb there. However, the protection of the citizens of its country, who have been subjected to constant humiliation for decades, is the duty of Israel and the army. If palestinian will lay down their weapons, there will be peace. If Israel lays down the weapons - Israel will be deleted. Of course you don't care that Israel will be deleted, but if you are not Muslim and Western in your view, you should care because the danger in Islam will reach also you too!

Some of those people were shaking and falling almost exaggerating a little. Not to be mean, but does tear gas cause that many symptoms? I've seen people just cough and run but some lady fell and started to shake. One of the guys were smiling on the ground.

So three medics were simultaneously shot by ricocheting bullets. That's at least slightly more plausible than the "magic bullet" of 1963. I wonder if NYT will make an effort to explain the other 180 civilians mass murdered for approaching their open air prison containment fence, or will they wait to see if the UN follows through with their war crimes recommendation.

By the way, those "missiles" are usually unguided rockets made out of sheet metal & powered by synthetic rubber mixed with aluminum oxide, and they usually do little to no damage and rarely hurt people. However, the IDF response is to use real military-grade missiles which level buildings killing everyone inside...

Apparently the Geneva convention doesn't apply to Israel somehow, last time around they airdropped phosphorus bombs intended for open battlefield use inside populated areas. For people who don't know what those do it's to create smoke concealment, but bombs of it in populated areas is close to napalm in terms of effect on human skin. Human rights and the Geneva convention doesn't exist if you're in a conflict with Israel, thats just how it is unfortunately.

I mean, at 100 yards, that sniper could have decimated more people. But according to the video, the sniper shot at the ground. I have a feeling that the shot was a warning shot that was poorly calculated

Susan “Injured peoples”? Imagine if over 10,000 people barged into your house one night with stones and firebombs. As well as medics. Would you not try to stop them? The IDF gave them sufficient opportunities to retreat, but they did not. And the sniper shot was clearly a warning shot gone wrong.

Incredibly sad that this had happened and definitely there was a mistake on part of someone who shot and incredibly bad luck. It was however not a protest. It was a violent, rageful, out of hand riot and can only imagine what was playing in heads of soldiers protecting the border. As long as such violent riots take place, there will always be casualties as mistakes can be made. Incredibly sad for the poor girl, who only wanted to help her fellow people who are so full of hatred and stupidity to create such unsafe situation for themselves and the ones who come at their aid to protect them from what they get from their own rage.

I'm sure some people are gonna be fired after this report, Thank you NYT for the courage

That’s not true. Reporting on a different point of view to your own has potential to be bias, however if you’re clear with facts and statistics and present both sides of the argument like they do in this video (talking to the IDF and the Medics) then there isn’t any bias. The definition of bias is; “inclination or prejudice for or against one person or group, especially in a way considered to be unfair.” I don’t see any point in this video where prejudice is present for or against a person or group. Perhaps the video showing more of the Palestinian rebels have conveyed an idea of bias in your mind?
