How an IKEA became one of the world's biggest clubs
More than 30 per cent of UK clubs have closed since the pandemic, who knew a saviour of the club scene could lie in a former soft furnishings site.
The IKEA in Tottenham (North London) has gone from DIY haven to dancefloor, and with a 15,000 person capacity DRUMSHEDS is now one of the UKs biggest cultural spaces.
Our Culture Correspondent Minnie Stephenson walked down its former aisles.

Really great reporting - I'm really pleased to have some positivity in the news. The news so often focuses on the ugly side of UK nightlife and it means so much just to acknowledge the importance of nightlife
Used to be a real rave called the sanctuary that went the other way and changed to IKEA in Milton Keynes. Htid. By the way, this isn't a rave

Considering The Sanctuary is now an IKEA then it’s only fair to reclaim one back. I mean, for a second I got excited in thinking it had been reborn. Oh well, one can hope!

The dance floor is easily assembled with plastic pegs and glue and the instructions easy to understand
