This has been by far, the best video for wrapping hands I’ve come across. And it’s exactly what I needed to know. Thank you

Regardless of peoples opinions of Chandler, this was a tremendous instructional video. Mike was very well spoken here and comes across as being an actual good teacher. And this is coming from a die hard Eddie and Tony fan. New subscriber 🤝🏾

Questions for the next Q&A video. why is there so many gyms that offer BJJ classes but do not offer the option for Adults to learn folk wrestling? What do you Bench?

Folk wrestling is for middle school thru college only. It’s a sport not a discipline. You only practice to compete Thats it. It’s not karate where anyone goes and trains in it for the wisdom and self defense and belt on the wall. Unfortunately folk style ends after college. But there is freestyle wrestling tournaments for adults in foreign countries. Not in here as far as I know

Largely because bjj has been marketed to the mainstream public masses waaayyy more and better as a product than folk or any classic western wrestling style haha. Seriously that's got alot to do with it.)) Just look at the gracies for example. They packaged their product then ufc 1 was a better bigass advertisement for it then they could've dreamed... then a gazillion Gracie family members popped out into the public eye and started selling and then went around to all the gyms and ma clubs and ymca type places and all the police and military units ad everything teaching, demonstrating, tailoring it to them, and just, selling.......now they've got Gracie online universities, Gracie combative, women's self defence all that stuff online well as gyms and franchises everywhere and Gracie home gyms or whatever they're called and programs to allocate a customer a area in their town for a fee and train them up in bjj and in business and help get the customers own Gracie gyms open with them as qualified teachers of simplified programs etc etc. It's everywhere. And they must be making a hell of a pretty penny off it haha. They kinda sold it as more a softer, anybody can do it kinda a art too and claiming it was for smaller people to beat bigger people... plus all the pretty gis and thebelt system grading and the "foreign mystique" about it and all. All that appeals to the masses ya know? Well as say catch wrestling (which is awesome FYI and deadly af! And a very deep, complex, old, brutally effective system refined over cebturies and amazing history too) people see the huge brutish men at carnivals or whatever and the big jock athletes at schools and think they're not all that so shy away... or see the funny looking tights and stuff they wear and are like "no way, not me, not in public " haha. Plus you know there's this whole stupid "everything about America and the West and capitalism and democracy and Western culture etc is so very bad and everything foreign to that and bloody communism etc is just wonderful and virtuous and trendy" bla bla bla which probably plays apart too. Anyway yes I'm ranting haha but I think that alls at least a part of it IMHO.
