How A Polyamorous Foursome Manages Their Money

Rachel, Kyle, Ashley and Yair are two married couples in a non-monogamous relationship. They share a house, car, dog, cat, partners and finances. They also have plans to have children together.
Obstacles they've faced having to do with rights and benefits as four partners have prompted them to meet with a lawyer to get divorced from one another and create a co-habitation agreement.
Watch this video to learn how they manage finances in their non-traditional relationship.

I feel like a relationship with multiple people works better with an even number of people compared to say 3 people (I'm not polyamorous so I could be wrong, but that's my guess). I think as long as there's everyone's communicating and everyone's on the same page and consenting I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't know if I personally could do this, but it's not my place to judge others on their relationships if they're okay with it. I know some people will use the scenario of Person A and Person B leaving Person C for each other and to that I'd say that I think it depends on how they go about it (cause not every relationship lasts, sometimes people fall out of love and that's okay), if A and B explained to C the situation and why they feel what they feel, then that's better than just running away from C or keeping it a secret

@@Jaime-eg4eb I agree, I think it's interesting how a lot of people who haven't been in this kind of relationship dynamic automatically assume that a poly relationship won't work out in the long run. Not every relationship lasts obviously, but how can we know when something will or won't work based on a 10-min clip that shows a brief segment of others' lives? I think most see polyamory with "infidelity" glasses, I don't think they see it as a relationship where people are happy being with each other but rather people who are "incapable of choosing" or "like to cheat" or "like to sleep around". Just like any other relationship, if everyone is communicating, consenting, all on the same page, then what's the issue? They're grown adults who are okay with this relationship dynamic, no one seems to be getting hurt, who are we to judge them?

I don't think it's ever possible to love them all equally in an intimate context. Polygamy wouldn't really be a need otherwise based on my understanding. It at least makes it easier to regularly build on their relationships under one roof, otherwise I'd just call it glorified friends with benefits in order to avoid any hurt feelings.

I think polyamory is great in terms of economy, fixed costs such as property tax can be divded by many people, 3~4 people can combine their money to buy a house. Currently, the rent is expensive, while house prices are constantly going up, earlier you get your own house, more money you earn. Everyone benefit from one Costco membership. Also many people can take turns to do house chores, doing many people's work at once takes less time than doing two people's work many times.

@@VanillaEarth744 you and me helping is not the same as government making healthcare education free with wages going up for mass of people. Instead of funneling trillions into military and wallst. Can you and me helping save the planet? I don’t think so. Government has to work for the working class people & not for the billionaires and multi trillion dollar corporations.

Some of you are really panni PRESSED and super judgemental on something you've likely never been a part of or even taken the time to understand. Not only are they smart enough to have found what makes them happy and how to manage their finances, but are also brave enough to share it with all of you who are making fun and joking. Good grief.

All for polyamory if that's what works for all involved. Seems pretty obvious to me though that Kyle is emotionally overwhelmed. Interesting that his (former?) wife doesn't notice this as a therapist.
