When our town burned down 4 years ago, we are about 12 miles from Chico up the hill.. Aaron helped rebuild the town and our schools, our Gyms, and Football Stadiums for the kids.. I am a lifelong Lions Fan, but I will always tip my cap to Rodgers, and Thank Him for helping us.

As a 49ers fan, I always wondered how successful they would have been with Rodgers instead of Smith. Eventually the Niners collected plenty of talent, but while Smith was definitely talented, he probably suffered from poor coaching. Someone like Rodgers would have been a strong leader who would have basically coached the offense himself.

A few tidbits to add... Butte was not the only school he reached out to. He reached out to at least one more JC who said no, they had a good qb. Butte was absolutely dominant even prior to Rodgers, infact that team also had a NFL TE and multiple future D1 players. It was obvious from (even before) game one that Rodgers was really good. His reputation in the area proceeded him. The NorCal JC system (at least at that time) was really good, and was home to a ton of future D1 and nfl players.

I helped my friend who was a sportswriter for the Paradise Post during Rodger's senior year. After covering the Paradise game, we went down to P.V. to catch the end of the game against Grant (Sacramento). I watched from the sidelines as Aaron threw the ball all over the field. When my friend later told me he ended up at Butte, I was in total disbelief.

Vikings fan here. Prime AR12 (circa 2009-2017) was the most unbelievable QB ive ever seen play the game. He was must watch TV and was always a concern until the very last second of the game. He was a damn magician at the damndist times. I still cannot believe the 2015 Richard Rodgers throw. If my money was on the line, I would take my chances with the 2014 Packers to beat any given team in the history of football. Aaron has been far more entertaining to watch over the years than the likes of Brady or Manning. Those two drop back and make the same three or four throws all game, not entertaining at all. I wish Aaron the best and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the real AR12 on Pat McAfee's show the last few years.

GB has had its share of talented players on the offensive side of the ball…wide receivers, running backs, tight ends, the O-Line and so on. It is hard to win without all of the right parts but I say it’s almost impossible w/o a good QB. Packers would not have the legacy or championships without Farve and Rogers. He is one of the all time greats for the QB position and I love his story. This was a well done piece.

I guess no one heard of Dilfer and Williams. Mediocre qbs statistically speaking. Each has won as many Super Bowls as Roger's. I'm sure the other Ravens qb wasn't a qod at qb and yet won a super bowl. ROGERS HAD EVERYTHING YEAR AFTERyear yet even 13 to 15 win seasons when it was a 16 game season. Could only stomach 1 super bowl. All those MVPs for failing time after time. Yet Brady the least talented of all of these won more super bowls than all of them added together. And appeared in more than all of these added together. So I never understood praising. Such a failure.

The school district has turned away his booster money for the sports programs because he only wants to donate it to his alma mater and not all the high schools in town. Good quarterback but personally not someone I’d be friends with. I dated his cousin who’s 17 years younger than he is but she’s said that he refuses to talk to his parents and siblings. Two of the most talented arms to ever throw the ball, no doubt. Favre was a legend but couldn't help himself when it came to risky passes though. It's almost like the management in Green Bay thought to themselves "hmm, what would Favre look like if he didn't throw interceptions?" and then found that kid at Cal Tech and signed him. Needless to say they dropped out of swimming and concentrated on their studies instead and are shooting for valedictorian! The problem is many colleges want them to have 4 years of sports also. This country doesn't have priorities when it comes to our students getting ahead.

It's usually the coaches son who play quarterback in small towns. coach Bob Jonson coached both Brett and Rob Johnson at Quarterback In Apr 29, 1994 - Bret Johnson, a former El Toro High School and UCLA quarterback, has been released by the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. Robert Garland Johnson (born March 18, 1973) is a former professional American football quarterback and current assistant football coach at Mission Viejo High School. Rodgers accuracy and big play ability is his calling card. Many have been in the wrong side of his 4th quarter heroics. Rodgers is a threat till the last second of every game. It was a crazy run for Washington and the season that Kirk Cousin solidified his worth in the league as a regular season starter, note I didn’t just say starter, where he dropped the legendary line “YOU LIKE THAT?!” as he was on a hot streak going into that playoff game. Of course we all know now Cousins is one of the greatest regular season stat kings but my god idk that I’ve seen a human with less of a clutch gene or the ability to win it when the spot lights are on and all the marbles are at stake. Got murdered by a Rodgers that day.

@@trumptookthevaccine1679 yeah thats pretty much what I'm saying. The NFL has a horrible track record of holding on to some players far to long & ignoring others, especially at QB. Matt Leinhardt, Mark Sanchez, Joe Flacco, Jim McMahon all got more looks than say Doug Flutie, Jeff Garcia, Warren Moon (who all had runs in the CFL). The NFL is notorious for overlooking talent based solely on frivolous measurables like the 40 yard dash, high jump, etc. I think there have been more greats missed & not coached up than have been put on the field. Heck look at Kurt Warner (with the exception of his Giants run) he was stocking shelves before he had dumb luck, right place right time open the door for him to showcase what he could do.
