How 3 Days Camping CHALLENGED Everything...
How 3 Days Camping in the Dolomites Challenged Everything...
Our first ever 3 day camping trip...
Today we are changing things up and downsizing from our van to these two backpacks, which should hopefully allow us to wild camp for the next two nights in the Italian Dolomites. As complete beginners to wild camping, we have a lot to learn and figure out along the way but this trip has arisen as a way for us to spend uninterrupted time within nature to try and disconnect from the outside world.

I wouldn't worry about how your content looks, people are watching because of your personalities. You have to live in the moment, when me and the wife go places we always forget to take photos but that's because we're enjoying the moment. Easier said as we don't have a KZread channel, but just don't forget to enjoy the little things and don't let it turn into a job. 💙
Please don't feel pressure to make these videos if you're going through a rough patch. I would much prefer you take a complete break and come back fully refreshed. Having said that, I also appreciate the fact that you keep it real and show the downsides but you don't have to prove anything. You're a special couple, because we see it in all your content .

thank you so much for the lovely comment, we love what we do and want to document everything we do with you but sometimes we're clearly not as 'in it' as we'd want to be but we always want to keep it real.
Guys. I'm only half way through and wanted to pause to give you a big hug. Life is tough, relationships are tough, feeling pressure when you sound like you might have imposter syndrome is tough. Give yourselves a break. I have ADHD, I struggle to stay focused and watch videos till the end. I have loved all yours. Just wanted to let you know ♥️

Hey guys don't apologise for being tourists like other people, you've got as much right to be in a place as anyone else and don't apologise for not filming all the time, you needed the break, I still loved watching you

No need to be too hard on urself. i think theres people like watching real life videos and im one of those. U guys are cute and theres no problem to share your learning progress! I feel that people who subscribed to your channel mostly because they like who you are, and they attached to your life, but not necessarily how successful you did in vanlife? 😀
You're wayy too hard on yourselves... your videos are some of the best on KZread...a terrific combination of authenticity and adventure - and your different, but complimentary personalities - make them one of the highlights of the weekend....already looking forward to next week's 👊👊

thank you so much for the lovely comment! We're so happy you love the videos.
You two are a breath of fresh air. Keep going the way your going . X
.. It all starts with the first step ,, the first hike ... try out all your gear at home before you leave to get familiar with it and all parts are there ... Yes !! the location is absolutely beautiful ,, you will remember this experience forever .... Stay Safe ..
Usually when I watch these outdoor videos the views and activities are the highlight but you two making noodles was absolutely comical and topped it all 😂 you both do an incredible job showing us how you are and being authentic. Take a trip without the camera and have “you time” it helps massively to clear your minds and really appreciate and see how much work you’ve done so far. X

Hello , we are new to your channel since a couple of videos. We love them. You are honest and true to real life, real van life. That was an amazing hike, although you thought nit of scenery it was beautiful to us...yes you missed a few things for hiking but that's called lessons and experience. Bravo to both of you for doing it as is and not giving up. Great job guys. Looking forward to the next ones. Regards from two oldies( 77-80) from Québec, Canada. Wishing you happy trails, be safe and as another vanlifer we follow says..."be positive." Cheers 👍❤️🇨🇦

You do really good in staying creative even when you’re not feeling it. We’re videographers and you fall into the trap of feeling we’re doing the same shots over and over again and start to become a bit bored of doing them and feel others may do the same but for us the viewers everything seems really fresh and lively. You’re honesty is great and I always love to watch the next video. You do a great job and are very entertaining, keep up the great work. We live in the Lot Et Garonne in France so if you come near this area it’d be great to host you. 😊

Just started watching your videos guys and I’m enjoying everything very much. I do want to say one thing though, don’t give yourselves such a hard time for filming issues and stuff going wrong - it’s all part of life and could give a potential viewer good tips for doing these things themselves. Myself for example, I want to spend time in nature and camping very much and I can already see things I need to look out for when I do eventually bite the bullet and get out there. So, keep up the excellent work!
So me and my lass Kate have watched all your van life and Vietnam KZread videos, we have two left to watch and have absolutely loved them thank you guys, We travelled around Europe for 23 years together before my ( Geordies ) hips gave up, while I’m undergoing the rehab this has been so good to watch, very funny and very watchable. How are you getting around the 3 month rule now in Europe. Try some of lake Idro and Iseo if you are passing near there’s some lovely lighter walks around there. Keep up the great work and good luck stay safe

Met a lovely guy on a bike trail yesterday and we sat and talked about our lack of camera and drone skills...and the conversation went to what you mentioned about just how much goes into producing a video like you do. This is why we love what you do more than anything as it is not all as it seems and that's what endears you to us and makes the channel unique. Love each other and embrace the good, the bad and the ugly 😍 Totally want to do a week in Italy now after my Camino next August. Thanks for showing me just how amazingly gorgeous it is.

Love your videos and have watched everyone so far. You are doing fabulous and I love the warts and all style. Don't overthink it, just have fun. The 2nd snake was an Adder which is venomous, not sure of the 1st one not sure it was a smooth snake though, as they are patterned like adders. Might have been an Aesculapian Snake. Take care

Well done guys, love the honesty and yeah shit happens. TBF the trick is understanding why so we can fix it for next time (being tired and hungry can have a massive effect on communication shortage, I know from experience (I messed up with a trail once, took me and the other half an extra 10k round a route (she was defo not pleased like LOL))). For a two day camp, carry light you will defo know what you need or not on the next one 🙂

Please just take the time to be kind to yourselves. I think you produce so much content which is putting yourselves under stress. I follow 1bike1world and his vlogs are more about the scenery and much much less of him on camera. Maybe watch a few of his vlogs and take some of his style which could take the pressure off trying to think what to say on the camera. Much love to you both xx

Water purification tablets might be good idea
@rockytopwrangler2069

... Purification tabs are a good backup in any kit ,, a quality water filter should always be part of your gear ,, even a small Sawyer will get the job done ..
.. You did well , nobody died ..... Maybe take on a variety of day hikes to build up the trail experience and gear operations .... but to run out of water and somewhat difficult terrain ,, 3 days can seem like eternity ...
Loved this video and your authenticity. Maybe you need to do some time off camera free too

what does a metal tent peg driven into the ground on the top of a mountain and a lightning storm make you think? PS nylon fly sheets and fiberglass poles also conduct lightning, please don't do that again, only just subscribed, and crispy critters cant make videos :-)
