The hate about your bbq choices is silly. So many awesome bbq spots in houston and you all did fine. You could eat at literally 15 spots within 3 miles of downtown and have “the best” sort of moments. Now Ninfas, the issue here is you went to the wrong one. You have to go to navigation, you must request to sit in the original part of the restaurant, order the carrots immediately and yes they do charge for them now, and order the pechuga gravy with whatever entree you choose. For sure since mama Ninfa sold, it’s changed for the worse, but you can still get the feel at navigation, only thing you missed on was standing in a long line for a breakfast taco. My fav is Laredo on Snover.

I’m from Houston, and The Pit Room is awesome. Ninfas is totally overrated by people, and I don’t know why. If you want really good Mexican food the next time you come, try Dona Letis. There are two locations. I like the one on S Post Oak.

Have lived in Houston since '79 and have never heard of this place. But to be fair Houston is entirely too big and honestly i am certain this isn't the only place i am not aware of.
