You have such a blessing 95% of people don’t have having a family home to fall back into in transitional times of your life. It might not be your vibe, but I can definitely see this as a rustic French, Spanish, Italian or any European country cottage. Look forward to seeing what you do with the place!

Ann, I know everyone has different taste, but I actually Love this house better than ur last. I know the old house was more modern & newer, but this one has soooooo much character. I would kill for that closet & most of all, the pool right outside ur door. I wish u so much happiness in ur new endeavors...

Instead of blocking off the wiring for the bedroom lights you don’t need, how about installing small ceiling fans? They have small ones. Cute home perfect for you to find your happy.

From a 74 year old woman who has decorated many times and also long ago art major, put your TV where the stairs are. If you put it over in the corner, it’s too far away and kinda looks odd. You’re sofa would be great under your window and it doesn’t have to be exactly up against the wall unless you don’t have space. A lot of people think if you pull it away from the wall it makes your room look smaller not so, but you wanna keep your walkway open to your kitchen. Your home is adorable. It looks like God has blessed you greatly. Oh One more thing think about removing your medicine cabinet. Once you take that out all that stuff that goes in there you have to have a place to put it. Storage is always premium.

3 years ago I left my own dream house and moved back into my little rental and started over. The peace in my home now is worth it all. Excited to see what do with your home and all that comes next for you ❤

Keep the cabinets! You’ll regret the shelving over the fridge..you won’t use anything up there …it’s great for storage of rarely used dishes and they won’t collect dust and grease that you constant have to clean. Especially don’t put open shelves above oven/stove because it will constantly need to be cleaned.

I totally agree.

Consider putting a hinged door over the mirror on the staircase by using a large framed artwork. That way you can open the door to use the mirror.

A great idea. Personally, I couldn’t manage without a full-length mirror, but leaving it ‘Open’ is a bit ‘in your face’.

You may be able to adjust legs on the oven they sometimes screw in/out to level. Been there before 😂! I love the new place and can't wait to see you decorate it all!!! Congratulations 🎉

There is an adjustable foot on every corner of the stove, just get it set where you want in and twist the front feet until it's stable. Love saltillo floors, they feel so good on bare feet! Very cute cottage, I know you will make it beautiful!

The cook stove has round feet that are adjustable, they screw in and out, just like on a dryer, so you can eliminate that wobble! Also your closet up stairs would be perfect with some short sliding barndoors. You could sure find someone to custom build and install them....

Love your cottage on the ranch ❤ perfect green for the Saltillo tile! It’s amazing what a deep clean and some paint can do to freshen up a space. I watched a video from Do it on a Dime and she used a sheer pattern peel and stick from Amazon on an arched window and it looked like stained glass. Just an idea 😊

Your little house is so cute. I love the green paint. I suggest you put some open shelving above your washer and dryer. You can add some pretty baskets for your laundry supplies. Keep your kitchen door white so it matches the trim around the windows. You did such a nice job cleaning up before moving your stuff in. I can't wait to see you decorate your new home.

Love the green walls. The shade looks very much like the color we just painted our living room.

You might want to consider getting getting window film. It is a film that adhers to the window with water. The film comes in all kinds of colors from a green tone to a grey tone. It really makes a difference in the light/heat factor. I had it installed over my skylight and it made a real temperature difference in my second floor. Be sure to study what you might want, as the different colors make a difference to how much light is blocked. I have had mine for over 5 years and it still like new.

suggestion do a bamboo shade over the kitchen window .

Wow, I love your new home and what you have done with it so far. A carpet stair runner or stair treads might make the stairs look more cozy, and the dog’s paws might not slip on them as much. I can’t wait to see what you do next!

I love the green color it is so calming, the home is looking very cozy. One thing I would do I would switch the fridge and stove, you can switch the doors to swing the other way. It would open up your kitchen . Great job making the move

This house is so cute! What a cozy little house to come home to. 🏡 I personally prefer smaller houses, I’ve been in a large home and at times it was overwhelming. You mentioned you were going for a Mediterranean style decor, and that would go so well with the flooring and style of the home. I’m in SoCal and summer is my least favorite season, it was my favorite when I was younger but I prefer the cool days of fall and winter. Even though we have good weather in CA, summer just gets too hot.

What a difference with just painting and adding your new light fixtures already! I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see what else you do to your new home...it's going to be gorgeous!

I agree about swapping the stove and the fridge someone else suggested. I would consider putting up a tin tile behind the stove ortherwise any cooking grease will stain your fresh beautifully painted walls. If you need to keep the stove where it is, I still suggest putting a tin backsplash on wall and for the bottom of the window, doing a stain glass privacy film. The upper part maybe a roll up bamboo shade - as well as the other window beside it. Your place looks great! Oh the hard to reach window upstairs, maybe some reflective privacy film which you can still get light and see through but will cut down on UV and heat.

That's going to be a really nice place once you're through with it all. Congrats on your new happy place all your own! I would leave that kitchen window without curtains and use the shelves for windows or rods to hang your pots and pans... keeping it open will give the illusion of a bigger space and more happy space also! I love your new home. The green paint complements your salltio tiles beautifully. I have the same salltio tiles throughout my home and in both front and back patios and I love it, especially the little wildlife imprints like coyote paw prints, anyway I love the paint colors that you chose they go perfect with your flooring... I also love all the natural wood in your stair case and walls. You're blessed definitely to have a home to go to, and no children at this time. I was a new momma of two weeks old, son, when my husband decided he no longer wanted a family. But I'm here now, married 20 yrs with my son married as of last year and my daughter engaged with my two beautiful granddaughter's 6 yrs and 6 months old. I, in the moment, thought there's no way I could do this, I'm crushed. But time is all it takes. Stay strong.
