To those with low motivation/energy, I'd suggest having as few possessions as possible. The less you have, the less you have to pick up. I can relate. Depression is a beast.

I'm so tired of the misuse of this word. He's not a "partner" if he doesn't help his "partner." "Partners" share each others' loads as a team. He helps her and she helps him = "partner." He's basically just someone she's dating, not a "partner.".
What about her sons? They can do dishes, be taught to do their own laundry, and run a vacuum.

Wouldn’t you try to help them by encouraging counselling at least.? Or support them by hiring a team of hoarding professionals? No? Well any partner of yours is better off without you anyway.
This woman’s issue is not “not having time to clean". It’s a psychological issue, and she desperately needs to seek professional help. Unless she gets to the core reason for why she is living in these conditions, when her house is cleaned out and put in order, it will be no time at all until it goes right back to the way it was. Such a shame that her children had to live in these filthy conditions. Worrying about getting married should be last on her list of priorities!

I agree, many parents are just barely able to raise children due to work, health, attitude and don't always pass on those skills. Even as we go on we need to check what we've learned as time, options change. Or as an example we learn that products we thought were tried and true are found to not be safe. US brand Tide on EWG comes to mind.

He's been with her for 10 years?! Why has he never pitched in and lent a hand? Or if he can't handle it, why hasn't he hired a cleaner to help her out? She's working and studying and has a couple of kids. Does he have all that going on? Why can't he at least mow her lawn??! Having said all that though, it's obvious she is very disorganised and doesn't seem to even know the basics. If the kids are old enough, they need to help! Set aside Saturdays to tackle it. Who would pull clean wash out onto a filthy floor?!! And pile it in a big, stinking pile on that rack? Or not use cleaner on the bathroom sink?! When he said he would "make sure it gets cleaned" instead of "I'll help and make sure it stays clean", my blood boiled. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see them as a couple living together. The problem with drying clothes inside when it is raining is that in the UK the humidity outside is often so high that opening windows and doors does not help if you have 90 - 95% humidity outside then an open window is not going to get rid of damp inside. The only way I solved it was a dehumidifier. Cheaper than a dryer and turning the heating way up. I know this is the least of this ladies problems - I think she needs counselling.

I am a single mom who works full time and my house has never been this neglected. Hope she can keep up with it now that it is clean.
It's hard to understand how someone's house gets this bad. Many ppl think it's just laziness and sometimes it is but, often women are expected to keep everything in the house up despite working full time themselves. This lady is stretched too far with no help from her husband. I'm sure she's not feeling very supported or loved. I'm sure she is too embarrassed to ask from help from ppl she knows. It's hard to find ppl who will be compassionate and non-judgemental, while keeping things private and opinions to themselves. I'm glad she was able to get some help.

This woman has a big problem…… Laziness I had 3 children under 6 and was working full time on night shift as a nurse in Emergency department . Looking after the kids during the day, taking the eldest ones to school and back, doing the shopping, and ironing and washing etc…I used to do all the housework and would go back to work the next night with only 4 hours sleep. And my house had never been in that state, it was always totally cleaned. If you do it as it comes and do not wait, then your house should be always in order. She is lazy…….

I'm glad the homeowner is taught how to clean and is expected to help in the actual cleaning. I am always a bit concerned when I see someone come in and clean a home like this while the homeowner is absent because I can't help but wonder how many weeks it will take for her to get it right back in this same condition. MAYBE if she cleans it herself she will be able to maintain it a bit better. I think the BF should wait a while to move in so he can see if this is a one time thing with her or if she actually keeps her house relatively clean.
The title of this is sooooo off 😂 her partner, not husband, doesn’t even live with her.
Nope. Disgusting. Bring shame back - she should feel ashamed to have her children living in that pigsty, it is just plain lazy & not cleaning up after you use something. don't over commit!!! You chose a partner, you two produced kids? Drop school and work as few hours as you can afford and take care of your kids and the home. Find a partner who wants to share equally and can move forward with you.

I personally wouldn’t want a relationship with anyone who lives like this. I’ll live by myself
Her husband is NOT a "partner." He is another son since he lives there and refuses to help clean. LBH
Was Haley (the cleaner) on another cleaning show where she showed how she was obsessed with cleaning her own house? I think she wore heels 👠 while cleaning? If it is her, I’m so proud of her for helping someone else instead of over cleaning her place.
Why dont you call Aurikatarina?

Her house may have started out bad but she helped n is a lovely caring compassionate person caring for kids n education
Someone needs to address the head high weeds in her backyard!!! How can you hang clothes out there? Plus the clothesline was waist high once they hung clothes on it, blankets & sheets would be dragging on the ground! Anybody could’ve at least kept things picked up. Amazing!!!
Old man wants a maid like whwn he was younger. He donr want a wife. He expects her to clean up after him.

THIS!!!! He better not expect her to do it all. That’s not a partner.
I’d have bought a new grill!
He’s giving off so many red flags, I hope that she gets help she needs
With the cost of shaving foam, lol thats not a good alternative cleaning product. Use the vinegar pls.
Some grills have removable cooking plates that can be soaked in the sink .

yeah, shaving cream is not the solution to black mold 😂
I hope this is the start and she can sustain the cleanliness.
I think she has the cerebral capacity to understand what's wrong, the information is available publicly. More so than the content of her study material . She just can't help it. Once she makes real money after her degree, perhaps she expects to afford a new start; new home and new habits!? I wish her best of luck and heaps of courage.
Yes, if your mum cannot teach you how to do things around the house, who else can teach you😮Charity beggins at home..
She is very busy with kids, work + studying at night. She may be burnt out (overwhelmed) from her responsibilities. Would be nice if partner paid for a cleaning service until she's out of school.
So glad it's all ship shape again now. 😀 Fabulous....!!!!!!
For the toilet thats like that, put one cup of pool acid in it, leave it overnight, next day use a normal toilet brush.
I'm honestly so surprised they don't have long term physical illnesses.. like infections, food poisoning, skin disease, respiratory digestive something, anything environmental factor. Unless it wasn't discussed during filming...

I was thinking that. If the sink was five thousand times over health precautions how come they weren't ill
Love how she sets the food out at the " cat station" but i know full well if i had the food out on display my boys would eat the lot 😂
Most of that dirt could be tackled with Jiff and a green scouring pad😊
My husband is retired and I am disabled. My husband is very good looking after me but his idea of cleaning and I are completely different.. I asked him if he would help me declutter the flat to make it better but he refused. After a lot of thing and frying he agreed but hast not made any move yet. We have been married 26 years and he has always worked. I suffer from fibromyalgia, long covid and broke my ankle in November. So I a not very mobile. If they are there alot then they should help even if its only to clear their own mess. All this its a man or woman's job is rubbish. I have tried talking to him about the way he cleans but he takes it as criticism which is not my intention I just want a nice house!😢😢

Men of a certain generation! Tell him he’s going to have to cut down his pocket money because now you need to budget for a professional cleaner. That might work 😉
Bill...God love him...he needs to do something about that toofy😅
My house is clean, and it is physically painful to maintain and stay on top of, the stress from clutter but the stress knowing if I don’t get rid of it that the stress will never go away but I’m too overwhelmed to seven start so I have to painfully force myself to take charge and just do it. It’s satisfying at the end but us ADHD’ers go through visceral pain when experiencing something that is joyless and tedious. Your brain just weights 100 pounds as you move from item to item, room to room, because you aren’t meeting its needs and you are forcing it to focus on cleaning. a lot of people don’t have this strength, most the time I don’t either. But combine a mental illness that’s already there and add grief? I don’t blame this woman in the slightest.
Bleach should not be mixed with other chemicals, the cheap and cheerful method getting lime scale off is ketsup. Its the vinegar in that condiment that does the work. Put on the area inquestion and leave for a day while your doing other stuff , then return later and rinse it down the drain. Speaking of drains, if you have a septic system? Dont put bleach down it as it will ruin the function of the system as it will leave a thousand gallon tank full of solid waste. The enzyme in the tank break up solids in between pump outs. The production of this show needs to place warnings to consumers about the use of the product they suggest youbuse to clean your house. Baking soda as its known in the states can be used with dish soap to better clean that nasty grill then just the soda alone.
