    Lann The Clever didn’t cede his throne and Casterly Rock to Aegon the Conqueror. He was the one who founded house Lannister by tricking Casterly Rock away from the Casterly family. Difference of like dozens of centuries. Also, even more contrary to this lady’s point, King Loren Lannister, the King of the West at the time Aegon invaded, 100% fought against the Targaryen invaders. It was part of his army that straight up burned in the Field of Fire. He didn’t bend the knee til after he got his ass kicked. Love this show. If I can add a couple suggestions that will improve the show: When the guests say they don't want to reveal spoilers about how sometimes it's the smaller armies who win, the Greyjoys are currently undecided but they may change that soon, etc... those are actually spoilers even if you don't say it explicitly. My suggestion is to try to avoid those types of comments since they don't add value and just spoil the show for us who are trying to avoid that. I specifically don't follow some channels because I'm afraid they will ruin the show for me. My other comment/suggestion is that I think you guys should go through the questions and do a quick rehearsal ahead of time if your production schedule allows for it. Sometimes the two ladies get questions they clearly didn't expect about super specific stats like comparing army sizes of different regions and then they are actually pretty good at improving. But if they had some warning they would be able to answer those questions better. Not everyone has the whole wikipedia memorized and they shouldn't be expected to! Keep it up guys!

Lan the Clever is a legendary figure from the Age of Heroes and perhaps before the Andal invasion. He won Casterly Rock somehow and started the Lannisters. Loren Lannister was the king who escaped the Field of Fire and knelt to the Conqueror Hardhome is a ruined settlement built on a natural port north of the wall. The Last Hearth is the closest stronghold to the wall. It is ruled by the Umbers.

  • @thomasleonardis711

    @thomasleonardis711

    Күн бұрын

    @@Alejojojo6 while you are right that it was never stated he’s that large logic and reasoning explains him to be. For starters dragon age is often figured determined by their size. For the smallfolk to consider him as old or older then Balerion he would need to be of a similar size (I do agree this is probably an exaggeration however). He’s a wild dragon and not contained to the Dragon Pit which was known to stunt dragons growth. Secondly, we have the fact that this creature lived on the island of the Targaryens and ate dragons. If your entire political dynasty was based off of your dragons why leave that potential wild threat alive? Presumably because fighting it would have been too costly which means that it was considered large enough for Balerion, Vhagar and Vermithor to be severely hurt in the battle against him. That isn’t a small dragon or he would have been hunted down and captured/killed. Black Dragons do tend to be larger then other dragons although that could be circumstance (Balerion’s age/ Drogon not being locked up). Thirdly, if he was born during the reign of Kong Jaehaerys he’s only a few years (2 decades at most) younger then Vermithor while also living outside and not being stunted by the Dragon Pit which can be used to safely make them about equal in size. Lastly, we have the very fact that no one was even willing to try and claim it and that other dragons fled at its very shadow (Sheepstealer runs away rather then fight it) and dragons aren’t known to run. Martin doesn’t always like to spell things out but instead makes you think about them to come to your own conclusions. But there is more then enough evidence to claim Cannibal was large and probably around the size of Vermithor. So no. It is not outright stated he is as large as Vermithor but you are clearly supposed to picture a large powerful and savage dragon on par with the larger dragons of the dance.

    I would imagine the Lannisters fear of Dany on the Throne would stem from the brutal crimes committed by then during Roberts Rebellion. Jamie killing Aerys, Tywin sacking Kings Landing, Ser Gregor and Armory Lorch raping Elia and butchering her children. While Robert and Ned might have had genuine reasons to rebel due to the Mad Kings cruelty, Tywin committed his atrocities just to curry favour with the winning side. As for Cersei on the Throne, firstly she had no claim to it other than being a Regent for Joffrey and Tommen. Tywin distrusted her not because she was a women, but because she was an ineffectual ruler, which is evidenced in the later books when she arms the faith militant and a hundred other blunders.

    I’m curious about Rheana and her egg. She told Aemond Vaghar was hers to claim but she already had an egg in crypt. Just that it didn’t hatch. For Halaena she bonded with Dreamfyre. An adult dragon born way before her. Strange how a very dreamy girl just claim a Dragon that scared Aemond when he was a kid, curious over if Halaena had a dragon egg in her crypt or not or was it only one egg and it was sunfyre so aegon took the claim coz they were twins (are they twins?). Also why didn’t Aemond had a dragon egg in his crypt when he was a baby? And was sunfyre from the dragon egg in aegon crypt when he was a baby? Seems too fast to grow and seems the same size as Syrax whos much older. can anyone explain to me pls?

    OK, so Queen R has most of the north. It would be honestly in her best interest to bargain with the Iron born! They are the second fierce fleet of ships at this time and absolutely wildcard and a gamble but would be a good idea. Also yeah obviously the iron born are the parallels to the Vikings

    That's incorrect about Robert Baratheon. He happened to be related to them but he won the throne by conquest, he made sure people knew this.

    Not just by conquest. His claim was recognized due to the Targaryen lineage he shared with Aerys II. His grandmother was on of Aegon V’s daughters, Rhaelle.

    The point is that the Targaryen's convinced everyone that their blood was superior and that's why they could control dragons. So Robert needed a link to prove he was "fit" to sit the throne. The same way Caesar said he was descended from Aeneas and ultimately Venus. The same way the Bible makes a big deal out of Jesus' lineage from David and Abraham. We could do this all day.

    Ok, so, I honestly really wish they'd just decided to extend the storyline in season 1 w/ the younger versions of the characters through the entirety of the season. It was a hella awesome storyline & definitely deserved way more time spent fleshing the characters out in their most formative years.. Then they could've easily started season 2 w/ the big time jump to the older versions, instead of the confusingly jarring way of doing it mid-season. Also, 8 episodes is very lame. The producers should've, @ the very least, matched the 1st season w/ 10 episodes. C'mon HOTD! Jeeez! 😏

    Harranhall is at a strategic location for garrisoning troops for quick deployment to control the Riverlands & set up blockades. The Tyrells control the area where most of the food production happens which is kind of essential. Both places are important for diff reasons logistically. Medieval society is very striated. Every High Lord of a region has vassals (houses)who in turn have lords with vassals & they don't always get along as demonstrated in the opening scenes of ep 3. There is always the danger of a coup within one of the 7 kingdoms during a war for the crown. People will also defect to the winning side as things change despite their original allegience. It's a political & logistical nightmare. Very few medieval kings ruled for long, extended periods of time & for most of their reign they were at war with someone. 😮
