They’re also referring to the small folk in this, not just the houses fighting. But many of the houses have their own reason for siding with the blacks. Example in the trailer, they’re scared of Daemon

I can understand why. The inheritances of the houses are based on both blood and oaths. House oaths are very very serious business. If anybody can just come and ignore those oaths then a house's succession or honor can never be assured. The greens are right in that traditionally the succession passes along the male line. But the greens are also ignoring the traditional strength of house oaths. Also, the way Aegon was crowned looks very suspicious. You have to remember that Viserys was seen the day before. He was sick but was still able to make it to the crown room. That he happened to die exactly after messing up the green's plans and then Aegon was placed on the throne instead of the heir the houses swore to while the chosen heir remained unaware that her father was even dead...then Otto threatened and imprisoned and anyone that won't bow to Aegon then killed that guy just for trying to leave...well. Then the Hightowers moved to completely claim the place as theirs and replaced all Targaryens colors and symbols with Hightower colors and the faith symbols basically erasing the Targaryens. Yes, Aegon is biologically a Targaryen but he wasn't raised as one and will definitely not be ruling as one. All of Alicent's children were raised as Hightowers and beyond the ability to ride dragons probably don't know much about being Targaryens. So yeah almost everyone believes foul play and there are probably not many even on the greens side that believe Alicent's claim. Whether they decide to side with the Hightowers has more to do with what they believe their houses stand to gain from that decision. @@j-s-m

Spoilers Ahead!!!! 🚨 When Cregan Stark marched to the south with his army, it wasn't only for Rhaenyra. It was also for Jacaerys. He and Jace became close friends and promised to betroth their children once they had them. He wasn't only fighting for Rhae, he was also bringing justice to his late friend.

One of the things that I thought was cool about this series was that the dagger that Ayra used to kill the Night King was the same dagger passed down by the Targaryens. All these cool little easter eggs.

If you don’t remember it at all I would probably watch it at least twice before S2. It makes it so much better when you know it super well. Like not just who everyone is and what happens, but all the nuances, details and layers.

1:00 I don't know if anyone else noticed but you can clearly hear the jump of the edit instead of whatever he actually says. Apart from the line actually being "King", I don't know what else it could possibly be. I don't even know why it would be anything else in the first place. It happens twice. First when he says to denounce the false [King] and then when saying bend the knee to the [Queen] Does anyone have an idea?

I dont think Rhaenyra is going to find Lukes body. I think whats on the ground in front of her and Syrax on the beach, is a piece of Arrax. She won't get to have a proper funeral for Luke, because Vhagar ATE him, and all thats left is pieces of his dragon.

The timeline of the show fascinates me. I know they said they want 4 seasons but they can wrap this story up in 3. I can’t wait for the Battle of the God’s Eye.

This is why I only rock with HBO Series. Their writers know how to amp you up for each season even if it ends in disappointment (Season 8......)

I wish they wouldn't have done the time jumps in s1! There was so much that was blown over that would have explained things better! And there could have been more season instead of going too fast!

King and Queen shoulda fought each other on dragonback, single combat, winner gets to rule. If both die, their pre-chosen champions fight until there is a single winner OR they wed their children together and seal the breach. Woulda saved the realm a lot of heartache and kept the House secure. Now? Madness.

Alicent has so much damage from all of the manipulation and being used by her father and family. It makes you wonder what would have happened if she and Rhaenyra had been able to remain friends instead of being forced on the king. Rhaenys is so right, no one will win and they will wipe themselves out.
