If you’re going house hunting on the island in Lagos, pls go when it’s raining. My very close friend had his house flooding from the foundation and it was hell. Another friends house was leaking from the roof that it spoilt the p.o.p (plaster of Paris). During raining season you know how accessible your environment would be when it floods, you also know how clean the drainages are. Above all pls prioritize your security, access to telecommunications network, food and foodstuff, electricity,storage facilities, water. Lagos can show you what you never could have imagined. God no go shame us

I live in PH and we were looking to move to a 3bedroom , omoooo house agents literally took us to a house where our hands could touch the pop, we saw one with ceiling board in this 2021 😂😂 and the agent be like, this house I’m taking you to ehn, it’s mad lit 🔥 “madam you go like am” “people wey dey come for the house plenty” wait until you see the house, you’ll almost faint 😂😂. House hunting in Naija should start atleast 6 months before your rent expires

By next year sef our layefa might have been in hubby house or probably planning to get your own house…we dont plan on house hunting next year oo

I honestly think that the floors in your current house is not too bad and to go around the dark floors the best way is to just use lighter furniture and accent rugs and pieces. It will all come together that way you don't have spend money on the floors. Ha! money is a bastard but we go make the money ijn! That last house in chevron was actually really nice and spacious. You could've just taken your time with renovating instead of thinking to do everything at once, like just start with the kitchen and painting, move all your furniture and be doing small small that's what I was thinking. But anyways your choice is still good with the decision to rent a one bedroom and renewing your rent cuz nothing beats home to work accessibility. Renovating your current apartment is a better idea than paying 4.5 and still having to fix a lot in it.

Omg house hunting is HELL here. I hate it so much. & 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yesss. The PRICES. Bruh!! Just stay where you are for now and use the current year to find your dream apartment/house if you still want to move. For the floors I think just get the floors that are wooden tiles, which you can remove when you are leaving. That way you’re not breaking the current tiles and permanently renovating someone else’s house only to leave. I know someone who spent so much money renovating a house they were only renting, only to leave after 2-3 years and the landlord was able to rent the house at a much higher price because they basically did all the work for him. So don’t make any permanent renovations, it’s not economical. Don’t worryyyyy, when we BLOW we will be there in ikoyi 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You can consider doing wooden double bunk beds(3 1/2 by 6) so as to have more bed space for your sisters, use lighter coloured rugs for the floors(in fact lighter coloured furnishings will make a huge difference), make an extra wardrobe for your sister's room, then declutter what ever you don't need so that your house doesn't feel cramped. Just try and make sure that everything has a place so that the house doesn't feel cramped

To deal with the dark floor use light accent rugs , also to accommodate more people invest in a solid sofa bed, it will come in handy say if you have a guest in the second room your sister can use the sofa bed. It can be in the living room or in your room as a sitting area when not in use.
