Nice Demonstration of those three rounds. Love the 44 magnum and the Super Redhawk. I have both a 9 1/2" Super Redhawk and a 2 1/2" Super Redhawk Alaskan in 44 magnum. The damage and penetration of the Garrett 330 +P Hammerheads from the 9 1/2" equals a 180 grain bullet fired from my 30-06. The Garrett's are amazingly accurate, capable of hitting an 8" steel plate at 200 yards. They average 1442 feet per second and produce 1524 foot pounds of energy from my 9/1/2" barrel. 1216 FPS with 1083 FPE from my 2 1/2" barreled SRH Alaskan. Others mileage may very.

Winchester 296 powder, max hot loads is what I like to shoot. I reload them with 180 grain hollow point tip. People move away from me at the range. It's alot of fun. A blaze of fire and concussion blasts out the barrel.

Thoughts rounds should only be shoot out of a super black hawk not the red hawk. It says it on the side of the box? Very unsafe this demo was could have blown up the gun.

Only Buffalo Bore and Garrett went thru with Garrett hitting the hardest.

The funny thing though is that when I load my Smith Wesson old model army #2 revolver that is antique(my particular one is 157 years old)-and when I load it with adapters with 6.8×18 #3/6 power load-I get 1800 joules of energy without blowing up the gun!I'm wondering what will be if one loads an entire .44 magnum with the same stuff that is in those nail gun blanks:the energy will be about 4-5 times that much:7200-9000 joules out of a handgun would be insane!Yet the gun itself must be really tough made to withstand such a huge power!

And yes,the regular 46 grain .31 caliber cast lead balls exceed *ONE KILOMETER* per second! From a fucking 6 inch barrel! So imagine what that stuff could do in rifle rounds!

Greater velocity does not lead to penetration. Higher velocities equal projectiles which rapidly come apart. So, I’m guessing the bullet would simply fragment rapidly. 1km per second out of a pistol is very fast. That’s rifle type velocities. Must be a very light weight round to do that.

From what I've seen buffalo bore its usually tight on for it's speed while Underwood is usually below that

Should’ve shot the same bunch of plates. Who knows how many you had for the Garrett test. I find it highly unusual that there’s VERY little Garrett videos on you tube especially for the 45-70.

I probably wouldn’t want to shoot those hot hot loads through my very rare S&W Pre-Model 29, with rare factory forward roll stamp. Sucks that both of my 44 magnum revolvers are rare, no dash, or pre 29 models that would cost me thousands and ruin history if I screwed them up. I might go buy a Ruger like you have to handle heavy loads for hunting. I love my smiths.

    I shoot Underwoods in my pre 29's (6.5" 5 screw and 4" 4screw) regularly. No issues. :)

youre model 29 will not chamber the Garret, the cyl is too short and the gun not built for it.
