When you’ve heard a song 10,000 times in your life, you can get a little jaded & even get tired of it. When I hear your reaction, it takes me back to hearing the song for the first time in 1976, when I was as blown away as you are now. Thank you.

Wow you heard It when the Song cames Out in November 1976
One of the best songs ever. It never gets old. It's a masterpiece.
Joe Walsh and Don Felder both trading guitar solos, then doing the guitar harmonies....fantastic!

Two awesome guitarists.
One of the best crafted piece of music ever assembled. Instruments? Flawless. Lyrics? Flawless. Don Henley's lead vocals? Flawless. You are correct that this song will still be listened to hundreds of years from now. Kind of like Mozart or Beethoven is for us.

The music from the song is direct from Don Fielder, the guitarist who starts the solo. Joe Walsh comes in on that second part of the solo, then they both work in that outro. Fielder came up with the tune and Don Henley was like, "I like that reggae sounding song!"

My favorite song by anyone, this is a masterpiece.
He said it...one of the best pieces of music he has ever heard in his life. Enough said.
I am 65 yo but everytime this song comes on the volume goes full blast. Loved this song ever since it came out. Watching Don Felder and Joe Walsh play the guitars at the end is so much fun.
Also sheer genius in the guitar duet.
I’m just speechless every time I hear this. Please watch a live performance of this song. It’s life changing. 😍😂

Harri, so pleased you didn't pause this MASTERPIECE at all. Just mesmerising.
Great song, long live classic rock.
Saw the Eagles in D.C. several years back and Glen Frey's son played with the band! 35K people in the crowd. I was in the 11th row! They played this toward the end of the concert of course with Joe Walsh. Fantastic! Crown went crazy. Best concert ever!
The apex of 70's lyrical and melody creation. The Eagles are still the greatest American Rock Band and it is not even close. That combination of country, blues, rock and pop intertwined with harmonies that Rival my beloved Bee Gees and you have the sublime power of music when the right voices and talent come together. Yeah they had their brawls, egos and struggles, but who the hell hasn't??? They came to my hometown of Wilson, NC in the early 70's just after the release of Peaceful Easy Feeling and Take it Easy and they rocked Wilson gymnasium down for 3 hours. I will ❤never ever forget that night.
Definitely one of the best songs ever - maybe the best.
I think this is the greatest rock song ever!!👍
Maybe the most musical talent on stage at one time ever.all were great musicians, all were lead singers. All had their own caeers.
Yeah it's one of the best songs! It definitely has the best rock guitar solo ever!
love the line” you can check out but you can never leave” 👍🙏🦋🌈🌞🌻💜
Next Eagles song to explore: "Lyin' Eyes."
One of the greatest songs and albums to come out of the modern music era. If you are looking for ICONIC songs that define modern music, you think of "Stairway to Heaven" of course but right up there with the Led Zep masterpiece is the lyrical and melodic genius of Hotel California. One of the greatest songs, lyrically, ever written.
Couldn't agree more. It's a perfect song.
One of the greatest songs EVER!
Dueling electric guitars. Brilliant.
This truely is the Picasso of song writing. It makes you believe its telling you one story, but its refering to something else. Its a mind blowing master piece.
The Eagles have a excellent catalog. Multi talented artists.
The most amazing part is that The Eagles have many "perfect" songs. Thoroughly enjoy watching you appreciate the classics I grew up with!
A band with great musicians, great songs, great writers who aim at perfection. That’s why so many people listen to this song so many times for so many years. What a song! What a band!
Yes! One of the greatest songs of all time. And that guitar!!! ♥️♥️♥️🇬🇧
This is Hollywood and the Entertainment industry. You can never leave.
Yes, a masterpiece.
In my opinion the Eagles are the Beatles of the 70's. So many great songs, different singers, and songwriters. So much to be admired with this group.
Eagles were fantastic starting with their first album but they reached their pinnacle with the addition of Joe Walsh.
A classic masterpiece
I think this is one of the best records in the world, a real classic. In the Dutch yearly Top 2000, it is mostly one of the 5 best..
The Eagles are cross generational. Even my 82:year old mum bought their Greatest Hits CD the other day
Eagles have an incredible Rabbit hole to be explored, plenty of world class songs. I`ve been enjoying your reactions for a while now. Keep up the great work.
Watching you experience this for the first time was absolutely emotional. Watching someone fall in love with it as much as I am almost made me cry
I never grow tired of the Eagles! As a band and individually they are legend ❤️
The live version is twice as amazing.
The drummer is the lead singer and that's pretty rare. That bass run drives the song and never lets up.
Don Henly the lead singer is the drummer. The Eagles are a very special band. I put "Hotel California" right up there with Led Zeplin's" Stairway to heaven" Steppenwolf's "Born to be wild" and Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" as those songs that never get old or boring.Forever songs. They should be in a time capsule for future generations to enjoy.
True masterpiece. We had such good musicians from that era.
It's a guitar piece written for two guitars working together and they put the lyrics in the middle. Unforgettable genius
Glorious song. One you keep listening Always! Thank you, sir.Thank you.Bless.Nadja from Mexico.
A masterpiece from the 70s. You know, that era with so many masterpieces.
Masterful drummers who can also sing lead are especially cool.
"Take it to the Limit", and " I can't tell you Why" are two of my favourite songs from them. They are fabulous in concert.
This song gets me on a automatic high all the way through it
And in the master's chambers they're all gathered for the feast, they stab it with their steely knives but they just can't kill the beast. Inspired lyrics and music. Have loved it for nearly 50 years.
The guitar duel harmonies that Joe Walsh brought to the guitar solo at the end put the song over the top for me....You REALLY need to see it live....

This song is classic 👌
Can’t believe you’ve never heard this. I’m sick of it now but love seeing a new devotee. The Eagles are the American Beatles to me.
The greatest guitar solo/duet in history. Ever. Expertise in delivery. Virtuoso.
The best Masterpiece ever made! The “drugs“ is in the song...... You can never get out! That what I thouth......
You really need to experience this performance live to truly appreciate this masterpiece. Truly unforgettable, fantastic

Past performances are where you want to look for that experience. I'm not saying their up to date performances suck just listen to the earlier performances first
Had the privilege of seeing them live 4 times, from when they were still backing Linda Ronstadt to the Hell Freezes over tour. Every time, it was like listening to their studio recordings. Absolute perfection.
Epic song , masterpiece of art
Loved your reaction to this beautiful work of art. You were dead on about everything. Hard to believe this song is 45 years old. It will never get old.
Love your channel. I grew up listening to The Eagles and America, and the common denominator are the harmonies. The Eagles were just perfect, with every component of the group being superb. Don Henley's vocals and drumming, Glenn Frey's vocals and guitar, Randy Meisner's falsetto voice and bass, Joe Walsh's guitar, and Don Felder's guitar! Henley and Frey were the main composers of Eagles songs, but it was Don Felder who came up with the Hotel California tune, and Henley and Frey were instantly hooked on it. When Don Henley wrote the magical lyrics and added it to Don Felders music, a gem was created! Glenn Frey, the leader of the band, has sadly passed, and Randy Meisner and Don Felder are no longer in the band, but the Eagles are still touring, with Timothy B Schmidt and Vince Gill in the band, along with bit part appearances by Glenn Frey's son, Deacon Frey. Don Henley's voice is still brilliant to this day.
You should see it live, the drummer is the singer and two guitarist in the beginning and the end. Super great song
One of the greatest bands of all time...One of their greatest songs. Saw them in 1995....incredible live.
I saw them on this tour. Incredible experience.
Nothing like composing music high on peyote and other adult recreational activities. Expands your mind and lets the brilliant lyrics flow. This is perhaps the most iconic song from the magical 70s as wss this album. If i had to choose an album that represented the 70s, this is the one. And i did check out. But i never left.
Yeah, try and figure out the lyrics...but there's no doubt that this is the pinnacle of what took place from the 1950s until this very day, even though it was recorded in 1976. It is the culmination of what used to be called rock-'n'-roll, but has been transformed into something far greater and more important than any similar music I've ever heard, before or since. It resides alone, in an unnamed genre of music, that has only one identifier : " The Eagles, Hotel California ". Thank you Don Felder and Joe Walsh for making it possible.
They painted their masterpiece.
Like so many others said. "One of the best songs ever"
For the first few years of my life, I was only exposed to variety shows on TV, country and western music, and some oldies like Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Chuck Berry. When I was six, I went to visit my friend in the trailer park nearby, his sister was kneeling on the living room floor in front of the stereo around 10 am on a summer morning. I was able to walk about five feet before I was stopped in my tracks. "What is that", I asked Lisa not sure what sounds were coming out of the speakers, "Hotel California, Mikey, It's the best song ever." I don't know if it is the best, but I was convinced I was listening to magic that day. After hearing Don Henley and Don Felder talk about it's conception and meaning, it still keeps mystifying my to this day even though I know there is no occult message or secret messages, just a loss of innocence, going from adolescence to adulthood. "You can never Leave"
So much music from that era, so little time to hear them all.
Thanks for giving recognition to Randy Meisner's bass playing. Randy is so underrated in so many ways.
Greatest hit of the Eagles !!
The drummer, Don Henley, is the lead vocalist as well on this one. The Eagles were consummate musicians. Everyone ones of their songs were masterpiece. They took turns doing lead vocals and writing different styles.
Felder and Walsh This song is the Eagles’ Bohemian Rhapsody. Brilliant
I saw the Eagles along with Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire & Steely Dan in 2017. A two day concert called Classic East. Amazing. Glen Frey’s Son Deacon played.
It never gets old this song. Love your reactions! 👍
I sure loved your reaction to this timeless beauty.
Love this song! Those harmony leads!!! 👍❤️
Hello dear friend Harri. They made this song an adventure. You get sucked in, and the perks are the amazing music and lyrics. In my generation we were blessed with artists such as this. Peace 🙏🏼
And one of the greatest bands EVER!
Don Henly is the lead singer on this GREAT song and he is also playing the drums as well.
You can check out anytime you like , but you can never leave!! , I love it!!!
Now you need to check out the live version! Amazing!
The Eagles one of my favorites band
A good argument can certainly be made that this is the best rock song ever written.
You should watch the live performance of this song at the Capital Center. Well worth it. The lead singer is actually also the drummer. Check out their live performance of this at the Capital Center.
Hotel California, Stairway to Heaven and Bohemian Rhapsody are 3 of the most iconic songs ever made.
That is real music!!!!!
The EAGLES made alot of great songs in their day! So many great groups with alot of diversity were out in the 70's and 80's! From Led Zeppelin ,Journey, Aerosmith, Yes, Genesis, Foreigner ,Kansas, Styx, and a lot of Motown...Fleetwood Mac and sooo many more. I appreciate all the music that was available then. We were very blessed!!♥️👍
Bloody fantastic is right - one of the best songs ever written and recorded. And having seen them do it live was definitely a bucket-list experience.
You mentioned the guitar solo. Joe Walsh is the beast behind that & also happens to be one of my favorite characters🤣/singers in Rock. Glenn Fry (Eagles singer) once said about Joe that he is "an interesting bunch of guys". Which was a polite way of say that Joe had soooooo many different personalities. 🤣 True to say the least. I recommend checking out Joe in "Life's Been Good To Me So Far" where he pokes fun & describes his own fame - also a banger called "Rocky Mountain Way" where he kills it on guitar & famously uses the "talk box". It's super funky!
Just superb 6 and a half minutes of pure class!
Top 3 albums/songs of all time.
Yeah this is obviously one of the all time greats. I’ve heard it hundreds of times but it never ceases to amaze. Like you said, Perfection! The Felder/Walsh guitar duo had incredible chemistry. Sometimes the younger you are you think that a great solo has to be blisteringly quick. And I do appreciate those as well. But ultimately it’s about the feeling and the musicianship. This solo and many others from this era are etched into the brains of millions of people because they’re just so memorable and evoke great feeling. Not sure if you’ve reacted to it or not but Try And Love Again is a hidden gem from this same album. The harmonies are so great.
Youve gotta see the live video, he is drumming and lead singing, and the guitar duo can't be missed
The Eagles mean so much to so many people through the years!! They have so many great songs!! In Her Shoes is one of the great ones!!,I hope you continue down this rabbit hole!!🎶💜🎶
Guitars on fire
This is worth watching as a live performance as well. Not only are they great performers, but it sounds just as good or maybe better.
All I can say is that the Eagles are incredible, both their early stuff and their later stuff is really good, but the later stuff rocks more, which I prefer.
In Your Eyes.....Peter Gabriel. Will blow your mind.....
Saw them in early 1975, spring, no Hotel California. Saw them again in 2000, Hotel was very well represented.
I was on temporary assignment in LA In the late 1980s and had gone to the Rocky Horror Picture show in Newport Beach with my boyfriend. After the show we were headed North on the Pacific Coast Highway and sunrise began. After a time I said to Peter "doesn't this look like the album cover for Hotel California?". He says "sure does". I looked to my right and SAW the Hotel! "There it is Peter". We went back again and again and I went back even years later but couldn't find it! It's a real place!❤️😎. RIP SO-CAL💔. We had some great times 😻

The hotel on the front cover is the Beverly Hills Hotel.
A masterpiece without a doubt. I saw the Eagles live in February 1995. They opened the show with Hotel California. The house lights went down for a couple of minutes. The music started playing, then they turned on the house lights. There they were onstage, playing. It was a strong, dramatic opening. The concert lasted for approximately four hours. They played most of their hits, as well as their hits as solo artists. Think about the diversity of their solo careers alone. Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh.
