I stopped trying to read anything into their promotional images a long time ago. Hot Toys unofficial motto seems to be "You'll get what we give you, when we decide to give it to you." Plus, we have to remember they also cater to the Asian market, where interests and trends may be different than the West. I would love to see a DX Episode III Palpatine as chancellor, with a swap out head and Sith robe as seen int he Order 66 scene. That would be frickin awesome!

I totally get what you're saying. There was a write-up involving JC Hong where he mentioned they release things for a reason at certain times, but didn't delve further into it. In my opinion, why do we have to wait x amount of years for an anniversary to hope for a figure to release that doesn't because of an obscure moment or MMS/TMS number is beyond me. Like you mentioned, they cater to their market for the most part, so if isn't hot over there, they aren't really reading our market like that to care that much. I'm sure we factor in for some things, but definitely not all. Swap out portrait Palpatine, force lightening, saber hilts, sets of hands, the chancellor's chair and an elaborate DX box? Would be siiiiick!

I think I'm with you guys. I'd really be surprised at ANYTHING more than two figures made from this. Feeling like it's more of an exhibition than anything.

I didn’t have adult money until 2020 so i missed out on majority of the figures mentioned and resale prices are a bit high for most figures so I would love for another ep2 or 3 dooku and ep1 maul

Yeah, I'm the same way with a few pieces myself. As much as I'd like a Palpatine, second Umbra Operative, Royal Guards, Hoth Leia... the list can go on, the prices are a bit crazy. Dooku's likeness could be updated for a better portrayal, so I do see them making one again at some point. It's harder to make a point for TPM Maul, but like I said, the technology is there for sharper life-like representation for sure.

Agreed with you, people forget about ROTJ anniversary or clone wars 20th anniversary… HT didn’t release much figure or reissue them! I think people expectations are always too high !

I felt terrible for OT collectors. It isn't my thing, but I felt awful. I thought there would be more of a roll out for the anniversary and it wasn't. Same goes for The Clone Wars anniversary, we didn't see much from it. It was more about being in the conversation with a few pieces and not a major rollout. It's ok to dream and hope, but "expecting"? That's setting yourself up to be let down. Dream away though by all means!

If I had kept the original footage, this video would be 16 minutes long, lol! I just went off the deep end with both Revan & Starkiller. It didn’t feel conducive to the original point. However, I don’t think we will. I say that because the original likeness for Starkiller isn’t canon. The fact that we have both on the way is great news and could possibly mean canon storylines. I’d love it if they did make Galen’s portrait though. We can only hope. What do you think?

@@BostonCollectors It's a good point! I am hopeful but I doubt it. I'm just stoked we're even getting Starkiller at all. With the new Umbra operator, they included a bunch of helmets to change appearances, so it could be a thing to include options for their video game releases. Then again, repainting Clone helmets is not as pricey as producing an entirely new sculpt like with Galen, so who knows.

@@BostonCollectors They may put Revan and Starkiller under the VGS line so it doesnt have to be canon, much like Umbra trooper. The almost have to do a Sam Witwer head sculpt.

VGS doesn't mean it isn't canon, but we both could be wrong. Battlefront 2 is considered canon, even if lore isn't fleshed out for characters like the Umbra Operative. I'd imagine they were able to pull it off since it's just a skin variation, but LucasFilm might already have a story drawn up for them. Speculation. I'd like Sam's likeness, but I still don't think we'll get it. If we do, I'd say there are far more implications to see him in canon. BUT... this could be a first at the same time for Legends characters. None of us truly know apart from Hot Toys.

I would love a TROS full power Palps. I still don't have a Palps. So for me it would either be ROTJ or TROS as my definitive

I'm still shocked they never did that one. After their whole sequel trilogy run, how do we not receive the big bad who came back from the dead? Neither version? Oof. He had an incredible outfit design too, so hopefully we see him at some point.

We're long overdue for a new version of Palpatine for sure. We can only hope there's a new one in the pipeline at some point.

Yeeeeeeah, this one didn't age so well, did it. I'll be. I still stand by it being great for it's time, but I can't be mad at them for updating it for the 25th anniversary either. The likeness on the 2.0 is phenomenal though! Video coming soon. 🙏🏻

I almost put the Elite Squad on my list, but felt like I needed to keep it strictly to Dark Side characters. Otherwise it'd look like gussy 2.0 all over again. 🗿

I’m still waiting for my kenobi Vader, no word yet :/ but anyways great video man! Do you think dooku realistically could be redone? I found a cookie for a really good price and have been on the fence in case they announce a new one any day

Dang, sorry for the wait, Curtis. I can honestly say it'll be worth it in the end. I don't have that feeling often, but this is one of those ones. Thank you! I really do see them redoing him at some point, but we don't know when that will be. If you can get him for a really good price now and you have the money set aside, I'd make the move personally. However, with this event in a few weeks, you wouldn't be making a bad choice to wait either. At the end of the day, it's speculation on our part.

I still can't believe how lucky we were to get Dark Side Anakin on Sideshow. He'd be far rarer if we weren't able to have him. With Artisan Anakin on the way, I'd bet we see an updated DS Anakin portrait. Revan and Starkiller will be amazing!

Only figures I’d want is Reven or Dooku just because I never got him. If Hot Toys put all these up for a day and close pre orders after a day they’d know how much to make 🤷🏼‍♂️

That would be brutal for people who work, kids or own businesses, but I get what you're saying. They did something similar not too long ago with Kenobi: Obi-wan, Miles Morales, etc. It lasted a week and they closed preorders for those with exclusive accessories. I wouldn't be upset at a system like that for some releases.
