Great video, Keco. When you first started collecting did you expect to amass the collection you did? Did you tell yourself you were only going to have a couple and it transformed into what you have now?

Great question! I've always been a collector, and I DO have an addictive personality transparently... BUT, I collected 6 inch figs mainly and thought the Hot Toys would be "one offs" , but I quickly found out that they are the superior figures and went all in!

When i started collecting i thought i needed to get the figs first or i would miss out, now i learned to wait and get them for less. (Unless its special) Same with the boxes i had to get creative, i keep the art of the boxes and turn them into artwork, framed and hang in my mancave.

Well...patience is good to a degree. I was patient when I ordered Moducases last March and the projected ship time was October. Then I was more patient when they told me in October it was changed to December. Then disaster struck and they had to delay a whole bunch of orders to June. I had one Detolf, a Rudsta, and at the time my cases should have shipped, 30 figures and 2 vehicles. My collection had outgrown my display. So I couldn’t be patient anymore. I cancelled my Moducases and bought garage racks. I coulda bought garage racks 11 months ago and been perfectly fine. But now I’m building two Kosta cases.

I just got my Moducases 3 months ago from orders I made in 2022. It was frustrating having to wait for them, but we'll worth it. The garage shelving that KeCo has are really cool, but my space is limited and Moducases fit perfectly.

some great advice, thank KeCo. The whole box debate is something that affects a lot of other collecting interests. I've collected fashion doll and there is always the big debate "I collect dolls (or figures, or whatever) not boxes." It all falls to each individual collector what they want to do. At one point I ditched most of my doll boxes, storing the accessories in ziplocks like many do with 1/6 scales. For future resale, most customizers don't care about boxes but completists need to have everything -- boxes, instructions, wrappings. Embrace what you want, not what others are telling you. Don't buy figures with investment in resale, buy what figures you want and that will make you happy.

These videos are very helpful! I’m new to the 1/6 and Quarter Scale Figure collecting. As a family man and your videos made me think and just narrow down just collect the character(s) from my favorite show(s) or movie(s). Rather than collecting for example the BVS Batman 1/6 scale figure I waited and now look at the NEW Batfleck. (Patience is key)

I get rid of all of my boxes. I can’t justify the storage space for them and I mostly purchase for self anyhow. On another note, reading or hearing different perspectives on figures is always a joy for me. These figures are art so folks interpret art in different ways.

Nice nonchalant reply to the guys from Nates livestream yesterday. You should go on one of their streams sometime. I feel like there are separate factions of KZread influencers and they are always staying in their little clicks. Would be nice to see less tension and see more livestream crossovers between influencer groups.

That’s because people are tribal, childish and judgmental. Even if everyone were invited to the same table, one side would always have a bone to pick. And it’s usually the same side, in most cases. I saw the stream in question, but don’t really have time to sit and watch an eight hour stream, so I skipped through a lot of it and happened to stumble upon Danoby talking about Keko and-while I feel he was the more tame of the bunch-most of the discussion was irrelevant bullshit. I don’t even think they realized how inconsistent and scatterbrained they actually were, as they seemed to be mixing up individuals and falsifying details at random to fit the current gag. It’s like when someone is talking just to be talking and their point gets lost in the mundanity of their voice and they know, that you know, that they are full of crap…but they keep going on and on to try and prove their point. Yeah, that hole-digging moment was harder to watch than an eight hour stream. I watch all of these guys, but there’s a certain crowd of people that just seems rather grungy and uncouth sometimes. The drama is pretty stupid and unnecessary-concerning the collecting community as a whole, in all fairness. This isn’t isolated to just the sixth scale community. Collect what you want to collect. If it’s cheap. Great. If it’s expensive. Great. If you only collect a little bit. Great. If you have a small toy store in your room. Great. Do what makes you happy. It’s okay to have an opinion about things in this hobby. People seem to forget that. Doesn’t matter if you are a KZreadr or not. Yes, this even includes having an opinion on the accuracy, or lack thereof, pertaining to headsculpts. I think the new Padme looks amazing, but I know others would disagree. Same with the 2.0 Selina Kyle. Dogging people for opinions, about toy collecting of all things, has just been running rampant the past four or five years. And it seems to be getting worse.

Great video! You had a lot helpful tips and insights! I'm one to keep my boxes and shippers. I'm still trying figure out my space for them as well. I don't have that many figures as you do, but it is currently taking up closet space and a corner of a second bedroom.

But I look around the room, and my sanity means more than the burning question of why. That's what collecting means to me, the ability to let go of the everyday life and chase what I love.

I Was just listening to a live stream you were on, and you guys were discussing the new RTOJ Han Solo figure. Since I’m barely a month into 1/6 figures Solo looked pretty good to me, but I thought let me take a closer look at this hair issue. As I started to zoom in on the head, sculpt, what stood out to me was that forehead. The first thing I thought of was Worf from Star Trek next generation. I think both hair and forehead need fixed, but that forehead is terrible. Come on now Hot Toys. I truly don’t like to complain but I believe Hot Toys needs to know about this.

Great video with a great hat. It's so easy to get caught up in fomo or over-budgeting yourself. I had to go for the inart 4 pack, and I have the prime 1 t rex cliff attack on PO, with bigger ticket items I have to be choosy to stay within a reasonable budget. People need to be ok with not having something in their collection.

Not every thing is gettin a 2.0 so I'm happy with what I have. If one does come a long and is exponentially better, and will potentially last longer, I'll move on the old one to make room. But if the difference is negligible, im not shelling out for it just because I can.

I would not use them. I had some unpleasant experiences and there are plenty of poor reviews from several channel members as well. Far better options out there.
