Really long road trips would be much less enjoyable if we paid what you do for fuel. I just checked current prices, and once you convert capacity and currency, you are paying an average of $6.96 for a gallon of gas, where our average today is $3.15. I love a good road trip, but I wish we had better public transport so we had a viable option for long distance travel.

Bought my first car, a used 70 Olds Cutlass with over 70k miles on it and drove it the way a 19 year old would if you can imagine. One rebuilt transmission and one timing chain in nearly 500k miles. She still ran good and quiet even though you could see the blue exhaust from space. Finally sold her to a guy in 2012 who was going to restore it with his kids as I had no way of doing that. This Betty White series was awesome. In 1978 I went to Senior Prom in my dad's 70 Caddy. Pretty much the same car as yours except it had the 500 motor and was a light gold color. Fender skirts were present and a kinda tall fella and a fellette could almost strettttttttccccccchhhhhh out in the back seat for a "nap!" That rig would get up to 90 without even trying. The best riding car I've ever been in, seemed like you were literally floating down the road at 90+ (sorry dad!). Looks like the Hot Rod Power Tour was awesome!

Derek, Jessica, and boys, thanks for taking us along on this tour! Very enjoyable. Lots of cool vehicles everywhere! Betty White is sure remarkable, although I cringe every time you smoke show, and burn off layers of rubber, on those nice old cars you resurrect. Seems like uneeded wear, tear, and stress, on the old machines. Will we see Betty White, getting repairs on those chunked out body spots up front? Oh, and I hope there are plans to fix or dress up those front lights on old red, white, blue? Thanks again! That was kind of you to take us along. Great idea with passing out the hot wheels et al, to the kids, along the way! Betty did great in the drag, that was fantastic too! Cheers from Southern New Hampshire!
One relay trick that I do when those old relays go bad is just convert it to the newer style Bosch 5 pin relay. They're very cheap, reliable, and readily available. You can even buy the pigtails at some part stores. Either splice it in and get rid of the old relay all together or get a small pack of 1/4" male flat terminals and you can plug it in without cutting into the factory harness
@majcrash
2 жыл бұрын
They also make a 75 amp 4 pin that might be better here. You try to roll all 4 of those monsters up at the same time, and you might burn out that 40 amp 5 pin.
@c117ls7
2 жыл бұрын
@@majcrash the 40 should do it but you won't have much room left over. Id say they draw about 7-8 a per window so about 30 then have a spike of 40 when the windows go all the way up. That factory relay was probably only rated for 30a
The pleasure is all mine Derek and family, Thank you for including me in this Power Tour. Got to reserve a seat for next year 😉👍
