imo, i think sean could ask any damn question he wanted to, offensive or not.. because he always has the right tone of voice(he sounds genuinely interested himself) the right words and makes his interviewees feel comfortable to explaining. but most of all, i think cause he is good at keeping his questions somewhat relevant and is a pro at making great segway into another question, so that it doesnt come of as offensive or like some shows interviewers TRY to bait you into a controversial or aggravating question

What's so impressive about Hot Ones is that I get to watch interviews with guests that I would never watch if the host was someone else. But since Sean asks some great questions and because he's so good at making the guests feel comfortable enough to answer them so sincerely it makes all of these interviews so interesting and you get a better sense of who the person is he's interviewing really is and not the superficial stuff.

If I had to take a guess, it’s probably because they’re actual good questions that they’ve never been asked before.

Sean makes this looks so easy, he never seems star struck and keeps it so chill/professional.

@@MagitekAU I mean Steve's son Robert is basically a tiny teenaged version of him. He's currently 16, so give him a few more years and see where he goes. Maybe Sean can invite him on another time to wax nostalgic.

And its just the first 4 seasons.

I stumbled across this video in my feed and I just wanted to say it reignited my love for Hot Ones. I know Sean took a big hit during the pandemic and tried to make things work as best as he could but that is where I fell off. I used to watch Hot Ones as soon as a new video dropped. This reminded me of how much a class act Sean is and an amazing interviewer. Going to drop by his channel after this and hope that he is still doing well.

Taking nothing away from Sean's fantastic interviewing skills, it's sad that journalism has fallen so far that guests are genuinely surprised and happy by an interviewer who does research on their questions and the guest.

Interview talk shows aren't actually journalism though. It's just a show, where the guests and hosts talk about some soft hitting questions.

Sean Evans interviewing Narduar would be the ultimate concentration of obscure personal trivia.

Shawn is the definition of being prepared gets you places in life respect

It takes a lot of talent, intelligence and charisma to be a good interviewer. Amd also being a proper researcher and investigator. He could be an amazing detective like for real.

Such a brilliantly simple thing you'd think most people would do as a courtesy to their guests but Hot Ones have shown me how rare that really is.

@@AlexRN It is rare. I remember Fallon interviewing the Stranger Things cast, and saying he loved the show, and they were like have you seen Season 2, and he said no, he hasn't had time to. Due to the nature of this series, it helps that Sean has the time to get to know and understand the guests, and read up on them/their industry to ask such good questions.

This is a big part of why I like the show. They actually do their research. All the questions on most late night shows are so lazy. Hot Ones is next level.
