I wish your record breaking lap at thunderhill with the zl1 1le was still up. I went to Thunderhill back in october with my zl1 1le and I just remembering watching your lap and I was amazed by the amount of speed you were able to enter the corners with. Im looking to go back to Thunderhill once my college semester is done soon. Will you be putting that video back up on your channel in the near future? I would love to learn from it more.

Wickedly fast. Having done Laguna before (no where near as fast, I'm a novice track driver) seeing that Laguna speed is just unreal. Great driving, thanks for sharing.

Thank you, the car is amazing. Working backwards through the video, we had a very safe setup which would generically work for all tracks when we were at the 5-mile when the car was first seeing the track. The owner gained confidence in the car and his skillset grew quickly such that by the Laguna video we had dialed the car in more aggressively and specifically for that track. Similarly, we continued to set up the car for each track specifically, so in the first Thunderhill 3-mile video it was setup well, and in addition, he was even more confident so I reduced the T/C settings (I always run the same T/C settings on other people's cars when collecting data to keep it like-for-like). We will continue to set it up more aggressively for faster times and reduce the T/C, but you can really see the difference from the first to the last video.

It runs flat and sticks like glue, just like a race car. Dude, i know you know someone with a C8 Z06 and could you post a hot lap?

@@TurninTrackOut have you had a chance to drive a 2020+ gt500 with the carbon track package on it? I am stuck trying to pick between a zl1-1le and the gt500 cftp for a new track toy

No I was so close to driving one at COTA that was setup well, but didn't quite happen. Actually, I should make a video on the cars I was looking at when doing the GT3, like I did back when I got the Camaro. The lead alternative options were a GT500 CFTP and 991.2 911 GTS. I think running the GT500 on 20' 305 square Goodyear 3R's would be a very good car, and I don't think they have any real issues on track. Break well and don't seem to overheat. I already did the ZL1 1LE, so that is part of the reason, but also having the magnetic shocks to make it more enjoyable in the canyons sounds nice. Plus they have a nice dual clutch, which is nice going to and from the track in traffic.
