Hi, Audrey! I'm so glad we connected! I love this machine, and now that they have a pencil jig it is so easy to stamp with this machine. I stamped over 70 pencils in under 10 minutes yesterday!

Hi, Ives! I don't use any adhesive. I wedged that back piece in there really tightly, and then the thinner wood block on my base plate is just sitting there. I'm not sure if you can see it, but I put some packing tape around that thinner piece, so it has a bit of give on the edge. My HB pencils need to be really tight against the block, and my colored pencils just rest against it, so that tape helps me do both with one block.

Hi Lori, can the whole T-slot base be removed so that regular full sized magnesium dies can be used?

Hi, Christine! The T-slot can be removed entirely, but I don't know the answer to your question about the magnesium dies because I've never used them. Definitely shoot a message to WorkOnLEather via Etsy to ask, they reply very fast! Will you come back and tell me what you learn?

I’m interested in using this for stamping book spines, so that would mean rotating the base plate so that the brass letters ran back to front instead of left to right. Is that possible on this model ? It looks like it might be because the bolts look like they can be released and because the plate is square it could orientate 90 degrees, but the question is weather the wires would reach…

Hi! I really think you should ask the seller a question like this. I purchased mine from WorkOnLeather on Etsy, they were very responsive to my questions. They also sell other hot foil stamping machines and might be able to suggest ones that would work better.

Which other companies have you mentioned in the beggining of the video. Can you write them down please. I am looking a commercial machine for embossing.

There are a lot of hot foil stamping machines available. Here in the US, we have: Howard Imprinting, Aamstamp, there are others I can't remember right now. In the UK there's the FoilCraft machine. Lots of options.

Hello Lory, with this machine is it possible to print on cardboard? do you have any advice?

I've never tried but you should be able to! I would start with a lower temp for cardboard and experiment until you get a perfect press. :)

Hi Lori...you mentioned a thicker foil in one of your videos... The zonesun foil that came with my unit isn't working well on my gift boxes. Do you have the name of the thicker foil brand?

@RVincents oh no! I should have said “wider” and not thicker-all my foils are from WorkOnLeather on Etsy. If you’re on Facebook we have a Foiled Stamped Pencil Makers Collective group-I bet someone in there might have a good lead for you. I’ve also found different colored foils work very differently, have you tried a new color?

I apologize for all of my questions. What size width did you get your foil?

I prefer the 3 cm foil. 2 cm works, but it unravels very easily, whereas the 3 cm stays rolled up. :)

I've been considering buying a machine, but have a question regarding letters. Do you own more than 1 set of the same font? How do you handle names with duplicate letters in them? Thanks!

I buy the alphabet sets from WorkOnLeather on Etsy that come with 2 of every consonant an 3 of every vowel. I purchased two of these sets, so I have 4 of every consonant and 6 of every vowel.

Hi! I purchased my #2 pencils from expresspencils.com/ and www.rwschoolsupply.com/ I purchased my colored pencils direct from the manufacturer via AliBaba.com With AliBaba my best advice is to create an account and put out a request for pricing. You'll receive a lot of replies. The more you know exactly what you're looking for, the easier it will go. For example, I wanted a very specific set of pastel colors, and I wanted all my colored pencils to fit into a kraft tube because I ship them inside my giant coloring posters.

You can press on paper with the Zonesun, but definitely ask the vendor about specific paper specs--I can't answer those!

I have 1 mm, 2 mm, and 3 mm spacers. I use 1 mm most often, but sometimes I will use the 2, it depends on the words and how they look.

3 mm / 10 pt font is typically what works best, but double check with your vendor to be sure!

@@LoriOster I found that it will only stamp if you set below 100, so 95ish? and have to place card under the laminated sheet or adhesive sticker, then the foil with hot stamp transfer :) , anything higher in temp will cause it to warp

Hi! I ordered my machine from WorkOnLeather via Etsy.com. I think you can also order directly from the Zonesun website. I went with Etsy because they have good buyer protection. :)

You can use larger letters with this machine, yes. I believe the standard size is 6 mm, but ask the folks at ZoneSun just to be sure.

Hmmm I'm not sure! I do know my ribbon printer has special machine washable foils if you want to print onto fabric that will be washed. I would contact your foil supplier to see if they offer washable foil for your machine.

I think it would depend on the type of fabric, and my best advice is to get a sample of similar fabric to figure out heat settings before you press on the actual notebook. You'll probably need far less heat than you would with a pencil. Let me know if you try it!

You should be able to stamp on paper, though I've never tried cups, myself. The curve might make it difficult.

Hi! No, you need to purchase the stamps separately.

Those two allen screws need to be tightened ever time you slide the plate in.. this makes sure that the registration is perfect for every stamp…

I get a perfect stamp without tightening but I think if you're doing a lot of pencils at a time it's helpful to tighten them.

@@LoriOster Good morning Lori , Sorry for bothering you about this situation. I contacted Sherry . She realized they made a mistake by sending me the wrong unit. The best way to fix the problem now is by using an adapter ( transformer ) so I can run the machine. It's going to be very expensive for Sherry to send me the right one now. To be fare , she is sending me a transformer so hopefully everything is going to be alright. I do have an embroidery machine made in Germany that I am able to run by using a transformer. @@LoriOster Well , I discussed that option with Sherry but the response was that it was going to be very expensive to do it. The machine I ordered is the Zs-100C . I will be using it for leather and paper for the moment. Since I am in Florida, I assumed that I would be receiving a 110volt machine since there is no option for voltage when ordering this model ,so now I am waiting for the transformer Sherry is supposed to be sending me. So let's hope for the best my dear and I'm very optimistic that everything is going to be just fine.

Please confirm is that print is washable or not.

Actually we are fabric manufacturer. after fabric manufacturing we have to type some detail on fabric roll and that detail should be visible after our dyeing process.if this printing is non washable then it can be a time saving for us.
