  Hmmm I'm not sure! I do know my ribbon printer has special machine washable foils if you want to print onto fabric that will be washed. I would contact your foil supplier to see if they offer washable foil for your machine.

  @@willianys1485 Ooh I don't know but now I want to try! I think it would depend on the type of fabric, and my best advice is to get a sample of similar fabric to figure out heat settings before you press on the actual notebook. You'll probably need far less heat than you would with a pencil. Let me know if you try it!

  Hi Lori...you mentioned a thicker foil in one of your videos... The zonesun foil that came with my unit isn't working well on my gift boxes. Do you have the name of the thicker foil brand?

  @RVincents oh no! I should have said “wider” and not thicker-all my foils are from WorkOnLeather on Etsy. If you’re on Facebook we have a Foiled Stamped Pencil Makers Collective group-I bet someone in there might have a good lead for you. I’ve also found different colored foils work very differently, have you tried a new color?

  Unfortunately you cannot make editable PDFs with affinity. I’ve seen some workarounds that use Canva plus free software to do this, or you could also subscribe to a service like Corjl to offer editable PDFs. Or a paid Adobe subscription.

  @@LoriOster I found that it will only stamp if you set below 100, so 95ish? and have to place card under the laminated sheet or adhesive sticker, then the foil with hot stamp transfer :) , anything higher in temp will cause it to warp

  Hi! Oh I have no idea about glass or plastic. My guess is that it *might* be able to stamp on plastic, but you'd have to be really careful not to melt it. If you're on Facebook you can join our group called Foil Stamped Pencil Maker Collective and ask if anyone in there has tried plastic or glass! There are over 1,000 people using these machines in there so someone must have some insight.

  Hi! Without seeing your file I can't be sure. Are you sure the solid line is remaining separate from the others? I would also try playing with placing the solid layer either above or below the others to see if that makes a difference. Good luck!

  Actually we are fabric manufacturer. after fabric manufacturing we have to type some detail on fabric roll and that detail should be visible after our dyeing process.if this printing is non washable then it can be a time saving for us.

  @@haseeb55552 Oh how interesting! I have no idea, but my guess would be that it's not washable. I have a ribbon print machine and I buy boack washable foil to use with that.   Not sure, I've never used it without the foil. It would leave an imprint, probably. When I bought my machine I purchased the letters separately, this will depend on your vendor.

  Hi! Yes, you can create different artboards in different sizes and then offer them all to your customer if you want to give them options.

  @@LoriOster That was an easy sub, thank you. So, to get this into my head. I would produce a piece of work that was a minimum of 300ppi, and copy it to an artboard of whatever size as long as the finished work did not become pixelated or too large a file size?

  @@slicedpage Are you producing the work in AD? If so, I would start with an artboard that is the maximum size you would like the final product to be printed, and create it at 300dpi at that size. Then you can export as a PNG and easily scale that down to any smaller size you would like without worrying about pixelation issues.

  I love this tutorial..! So easy and clear to follow! I have one question though.. i cant find the design files, nor an option to download similar items for use in an external program... Printful is making it seriously difficult to nake your own designs...at least thats how i feel as a complete beginner...😔

  This video is not for a absolute beginner. I didn't even know what background, should ir be a photo background workspace etc?..where the oval selection tool was, the little nodes were etc...I gave up and now I am off to find something step by step...you have to know your way around the program for this video to be of use. I will come back when i know the program more.

  I am new to using affinity designer. So still learning, how did you get multiple art boards on the same screen. Even when I duplicate an artboard before anything is on it, it still says artboard 1 & idk how to rename it

  The tool right beneath the arrow tool is an artboard tool--click that, and then go to your doc and draw a new artboard. Repeat as many times as you need. :) To rename, go to Layers and double click the name of the artboard you want to rename and you can type over it. Have fun!!

  Those two allen screws need to be tightened ever time you slide the plate in.. this makes sure that the registration is perfect for every stamp…

  I get a perfect stamp without tightening but I think if you're doing a lot of pencils at a time it's helpful to tighten them.

  Hello, I just recently bought a hot stamping machine but I was wondering if you happen to know if the letters are universal in size? For ex: will any letters work with all machines to fit in the slot, height wise? Hope I explained myself lol thank in advance.

  Hi, Cindy! Congrats on your new machine! I do no think the type is universal. Type for a Howard Personalizer won't fit in a Foilcraft or a ZoneSun, for example. Where are you sourcing your type?

  I’m interested in using this for stamping book spines, so that would mean rotating the base plate so that the brass letters ran back to front instead of left to right. Is that possible on this model ? It looks like it might be because the bolts look like they can be released and because the plate is square it could orientate 90 degrees, but the question is weather the wires would reach…

  Hi... I have bought a similar machine after seeing this informative video. But when I tried to stamp a pencil, I found that the pencils are thin and fonts are big. So, What size of font you are using for stamping pencils? Thanks.

  I use 3mm/10 pt font for my pencils. Larger type looks great on paper, leather, etc.!
