Hot Chickens!
Keep those chickens cool this summer. Heat stress is a big risk for chickens. Watch to see how I keep them cool and what to do if they get too hot! #chickens #summer #hotchickens #chickencoop #chicken #chickenkeeping #chickenkeeper #purelychickeen

This is totally accurate. We had some very hot days a week ago and my chickens didn't lay a single egg. And I have 25 hens 😭. Great video. 👍
Thank you for sharing these tips.
It's been hot and humid or rainy and cool. It makes sense that they would soak up the rain between the heat. I put a fan into their room- they are set to start laying shortly and I want them to be comfortable.
Thanks for this video! We've had very hot weather lately and very few eggs. Our chickens all free range and I was blaming no eggs on them not laying in the nests! I've always thought that we lose eggs in the wooded/brush areas of our property that are impossible to scour for eggs. Now I'm rethinking that perhaps they just aren't laying. We've put up a mister too, but my chickens sort of avoid the misting area. I also try to wet down some shady areas near the coop and our house where they like to hang out to keep the ground cooler there.
Great ideas!!
I submitted to all ur videos today. Thank you for teaching us. Im still new to chickens. We have 30 hens and 2 roos. 6:41
My chuckens give way more eggs in winter than summer. I spray their area down a few times a day and change their water 2x a day.
It was 102⁰ here today. We installed a custom chicken mister. They seemed to enjoy it. One thing after another has stressed them out so no eggs for almost two months. At least they have mist and a wading pool.

I live in Florida and it is in the 90's all summer. Do you recommend a electrolytes in water or only when you notice them panting?

You can do it for a few days when you see them distressed but you don’t want to do it more than that
what about a small pond?
